We’re kicking off our galleries for the toys from the new Robots in Disguise show with a look at one of the guest Autobots – it’s time for Drift to take the spotlight! Like his incarnation in Transformers Age of Extinction, this version of Drift is very strongly influenced by the look of Japanese samurai, though unlike the movie version, this Drift isn’t wearing a facemask.
Robots in Disguise Drift is a Warrior class figure, transforming between robot and car mode in a handful of fairly simple steps. He’s big and chunky, and definitely feels like a throwback to the simpler style of Transformers from the Transformers Armada / Cybertron days. The look is quite streamlined, giving the figure a very “animated” look to him.
Drift wields two swords, which he can stow in his waist armor in robot mode, and they fit beneath the car in vehicle mode. Drift has a decent range of articulation, and can strike some nice poses. All in all, he’s a great representative of the Warrior size class. Check out his gallery and decide for yourself:

Speaking of Animated… wonder how he looks next to Animated Prowl.

Agreed.
And I don't think its too much to ask/expect.
Sentry Prime
I'm really not feeling anything for the new stuff post TF: Prime
That being said, is it too much to ask that they hinge the door panels horizontally, so that they can fold around the character's arms? Not Drift specific – I've always just kinda felt let down by big, chunky doors that obscure character's hands…

Doesn't look too bad but I think I'll pass. Nothing about this line seems that interesting.
Murasame
These warriors really look like the engineering for a legion class figure in the size of a deluxe. And the legends versions look even worse.
This is what I expect from upscaled knock offs.

Found RID Prime and Drift at a walmart today, near Kansas City.
EDIT: nevermind, see they've been sighted already.

I'm one of those weirdos that really likes the RID2015 line. More than Combiner Wars. Yeah that's right. I'm pretty much passing on all the Combiner Wars Deluxes and Voyagers after I get Wildrider and Takara's Superion as 3rd Party combiners is where it's at for me.
But RID2015? A dream come true. Designs that I like, toys that I like, and a cartoon that looks like I'll like as well. Drift in particular looks so "Animated" it's heavenly. I loved Animated so the closer you are to looking like that, the more I'll like it. Drift hits every note there, including the inclusion of a vivid color choice. Just a bit of black paint to the facial hair and he's as good as anything else I've got!
Plus, the inclusion of a daisho is pretty awesome too. I like the fact that being a samurai he's carrying a katana and wakazashi rather than two identical length swords. Really makes him feel the part.
Slingshot
Probably the weakest of the warrior class figures. Prime, Sideswipe, and Steeljaw are the best. Can't wait to see OP's gallery! Thanks TFW!

Finally, the one bot who is the dedicated swordsman gets a fricking waist.

I guess I'm one of the few people that not only like the RiD line, but like Drift the most out of them all. Love his super sleek car mode, his colors pop, he has weapon storage in both alt mode and bot mode, the front of his car looks like his face, decent articulation but hindered by range of movement…I really don't get all of the negativity. I've got a thing for Samurai bots, so I've got this Drift, along with IDW and both movie versions. IDW is still king, but this Drift is a close second.
HARD RAINBOW
If these were $7.99 it would be a neat line. At $14.99 it's laughable.

The only thing I dislike is his face. It needs some paint he looks like he has almost no face which is a little creepy. Vehicle mode looks pretty sweet though.

I just love reading all the comments from people who think they're so superior for not buying a freaking toy. Anyhow, I'd be happy to get one of these myself, having the whole first Warrior wave already, but distribution in NYC is so horrible that I honestly don't know when I'll see this wave.
Bumblebee2000
May get the Drift if I learn how to customise as he would make a nice Yoketron and on a side note, that Bumblebee looks a lot cheaper than I remember. Shame as he was initially the only Autobot alongside Strongarm I was definitely getting, unless they do a nice Fix It. Should Fix It be Fixit, Fix-it or something else entirely? I've not been paying as much attention to RID.

Heh. Wait until Sideswipe arrives with his multi-colored extruding clip-on wheels. Hasbro is almost down to knock-off toys quality with RID. Those designers should be very proud of their work on the RID line.
Shuggaroth
If I remember correctly, Cheetimus already did a repaint. Or a touch up.
Renidragon
I've bought two RiD figures so far – Drife and Strongarm. I've seen Optimus, Grimlock, Steeljaw and Bumblebee as well, but they just didn't interest me much. I'm pretty pleased with my choices. They're not amazing, but they're fun.
FanimusMaximus
Thank god I know how to repaint Transformers.
Shinobitron
I am the only person having QC problems with these toys? I got a Strongarm that has wonky arms and now a Grimlock whos dino arm broke off at the ball joint. This and I've had KO figures that had more heft to them.
Toolverine
*sigh*
I just want nice toys.
