Thanks to board member, Nevermore, we have our first look at the stock images of the first wave of the upcoming 2015 Robots In Disguise toyline. The images were found on Smyth’s online shop and The Entertainer Toy Shop.
Included in the stock photography are images from the size classes of Legion, Warrior, One Step Changers, and Hyperchange Heroes aka “3-Step Changers” – which includes a previously unseen Optimus Prime three-step changer.
Check out the images after the jump and join the discussion on the boards.
Autobot Burnout
Bumblebee – Enh, the in-hand pics are, as usual, leagues better, but given how craptacular stock photos tend to be, it's actually funny how even the photographers can't really screw him up so he photographs better as a result.
Grimlock – OK, that dino mode actually isn't half bad, since it escapes the problem of pretty much every single Grimlock mold made since 2007 having a giant cavern for a T-rex chest while retaining virtually the exact same transformation otherwise. And robot mode actually looks pretty damn solid, much more impressive than I initially thought…except for that hilariously generic head and the shortcomings of being a deluxe. Had he actually just kept Grimlock's visor/mouthplate to complete the obvious G1 transplanting instead of being Mr. Generic face, along with having a much-needed upscaling such that he could make use of the mass of a Voyager class, this design could reach its true potential.
Overbite – I still think this guy has WAY too much kibble that could easily have been used to bulk up the actual body, namely in the arms (I've since had to come to accept the thin ungulate-ish legs after comparing them to Ani Sentinel Prime's legs and figuring they're about the same thickness). However, he's unique and quirkly looking enough that he's a certain buy on my part.
Strongarm – She looks like a Fast Action Battler. Scratch that, she looks even simpler than a Fast Action Battler, at least compared to my one example; 2007 FAB Frenzy. The arms look way too small and it all looks way too cluttered around the neck/collarbone areas. It's ambitious, but falls short. Especially since Animated Deluxe Ratchet largely does the exact same thing except better because, amusingly, his 'beer gut' collapses the entire front of the vehicle into a well-proportioned chest that helps offset the weight of the roof backpack and provides good balance for standing, something I really do not think Strongarm is capable of.
Drift – Holy sweet jesus this was designed by the same people?! Granted, I think the legs look a bit too simplistic for this toy's own good and could have been taken farther (all that space for the feet could easily have allowed some kind of compound joint assembly like Universe 2.0 Voyager Inferno, unless the giant legs are actually some kind of reference to the Generations toy of the original Drift), but otherwise, this is the closest thing to an Animated-quality tier toy in years! Simple forms yet a surprising lack of obvious kibble at a glance of the robot mode, he's very clearly based on a Samurai without going totally overboard (*cough*AoE*cough*), probably the only toy of this set with wrist articulation, and he has sheathes to store the swords on his hip like ROTF Bludgeon.
I seriously am thinking about grabbing this guy and doing a little paint work so I can re-purpose him as a rebuilt Animated Yoketron. Because thank you Derrick J. Wyatt for confirming Yoketron would turn into a cybertronian race car that RID15 Drift happens to look like.
TM2 Dinobot
Everything else worked fine. I think they just didn't have a code for Drift cause he's wave 2.

Huh? "Hotlinking" means "embedding an image from a website that isn't A) TFW2005 itself, B) a site I operate myself and which I pay for out of my own pocket or C) a free image hosting website".
Hotlinking is not "posting a link to another website". That's totally okay under the current rules.
gabumon
maybe for stock photos they're using a static QR code insignia so people actually have to buy the toys to get different characters.
flatline72
you are hotlinking off two different web sites which the rules clearly prohibit.
TM2 Dinobot
FYI, this is Bumblebee's code sticker. Not Drift.
gabumon
isn't the insignia simplified on purpose because it's smart phone scanable?
nobleboivin
The warrior class ones look cool
calvin0
warrior class?
Yobuster
These pictures make it look just as kiddie as we've always thought them to be. The new Warrior classes …… man i just can't get over how simple they are. I'm not looking for legends sized simplicity but it looks like that's what we are getting.
Still, i will reserve final judgement until i have at least one of these in my hands. I will buy at least one of these to test them out.
Grimlock_13
Thanks for letting me save money Hasbro. I can spend it on 3rd party stuff.
Autovolt 127
Honestly for the most part they look alright. Grimlock is by far the best looking of the delu…I Mean Warrior classes. Bumblebee I know looks good based on the earlier stock photos. Strongarm I'm hoping the back kibble can be tweaked once someone gets it in hand.
Seriously? Maybe Hasbro should have maybe tried for an earlier release date for these guys? I would have liked getting them for Christmas by finding them at retail. It does beg the question of when this show is premiering on Cartoon Network if the toys are almost coming out?
^This. I think this line isn't that bad, I think most of the line will be alright.
Kyras
I don't know why, but I can feel Steeljaw growing on me by the minute. Though from the looks of things, he'll probably be the only one from the line I'll even want.
Ironhide1234
The Legends Prime looks like Legends Animated Prime.
Shit.
GreednGluttony
anybody else think hyper change grimlock looks awesome?
QLRformer
They look okay, design-wise.
Steeljaw has a Wolverine vibe to him LOL
And does Optimus have two modes? One of them involves pulling down the front or something? His TF Go mode was a Triple-Changer and looked better than that.
Bass X0
As far as simple basic toys go, I would rather have 1988 Firecons and Sparkabots than these.
er4smiths
You would think as time marches on and with technology and ability doing the same, Transformers toy lines would progressively be getting better. Unfortunately it seems the opposite has been happening. If it wasn't for the MP line – I wouldn't be collecting at all. Such a shame. Even the Generations line stinks.
Starscream0625
Steeljaw's vehicle mode looks neat. The stock photography does none of these justice, but judging by what we've seen, nothing can make these look any better.
Ravage101
Ah Cool! Another Transfromer line I am NOT buying.
