Via Autobase Aichi we have an in-hand look at the Robots in Disguise Deployer set, Drift with Mini-Con Jetstorm. Drift is a big, chunky toy, simple in poseability – he is unapologetically a gimmick toy. However, these images do show that the Mini-Con launcher does stow in robot mode, so the robot mode profile at least avoids the awkward launcher sticking out by his foot all the time.
The Mini-Con, Jetstorm, is seen here without his armor, a side of him we rarely get to see in the official photos to date. There are also some comparison shots between this Drift and the Warrior class version – giving more of an idea of the size of this new toy.
Check out the images attached to this post.

How much do these retail for? I might get it just for Jetstorm, honestly.

Hasbro's really been skimping out on the paint apps.

I won't say whether or not they're going to sell, but it's folly to consider YOUR experiences as the same as everyone else experiences.
You know, I only started enjoying articulation when I was a teen and adult. But when I was a kid, know what I wanted? Toys that had action features or fired missiles. Playtime was always great when I had guys that had a special move that no one else did and that was always something that stuck out for me.
These deployers? Holy shit I wish I had them when I was a kid. I can look at it now and see it for what it is…a guy that fires a projectile…that turns into another little guy that can fight as well. As a kid that I was I would've loved the crap out of them.
How would you know that kids, in general, won't like them? You can't. You're just pulling shit out of your ass to sound like you know things. THAT much I know because I am very certain if I was a kid I'd be pestering my mom and pop to get me these things.

Actually feel these look perfectly fine for what they are. The minicons themselves are winners and I can definitely see myself picking some up if they ever see a release here.
TFTheoretician
I really don't see the point in this, anyone care to explain? I can't grasp what kids would prefer these (Deployer Drift and Fracture) over the standard Warrior releases? I mean, worse articulation, compromised esthetics… for a stupid, intrusive shooting/throwing gimmick? When I was a kid, all I cared about was the design of the modes, and all I ever wanted was better articulation. I thought gimmick-heavy toys like the Triggerbots or Throttlebots absolutely hideous, and now this? They should just release the minicons with some kind of weapon for deploying them as separate toys in two-packs (like Slipstream and Jetstorm for Drift, Airazor and Divebomb for Fracture) or even one and one and they would get toys at lower price points to supplement those at the Deluxe price point. These supposedly cost more than the deluxes, and suck, what's the point? Are they selling figures or gimmicks?
I have heard so many stories about toy shelves being clogged with trash like this, does it even sell at all?
[Wing_Saber-X]
eh.. no thanks. one for the kids to enjoy.
Bumblethumper
I don't think kids will like it either. I know I wouldn't.
Hollywood Hoist
Looks okay, could be a lot of fun for kids, though I hope they release the minicons that come with the deployers separately.
Cheebs
Won't somebody think of the shareholders?
FanimusMaximus
I'm interested if only for the gimmick, also because this is probably the only way we're gonna get toys of Drift and Fractures Minicons.
Sciflyer
Yeah, this is pretty damn awful. I remember being excited at the prospect of new Minicons, but cripes, even his Minicon sucks. Oh, and I'll also poo-poo on the whole "this isn't your target age range" argument. I calls it like I sees it regardless of intended age range. Garbage is garbage no matter who it is designed for.
GreednGluttony
One thing though, how hard is it to paint in his godamn facial hair?

Not to jump on your back, but I don't like when people assume that if it's not for adults, it's good for kids. I wouldn't buy my kid this shit. It's the most half-assed piece of crap I've seen from any company in a while, and that includes the king of shit–Bandai America.
GreednGluttony
Looks fun, can't wait to get one
Richform4
Dig the idea but a hug fail cause design look.
Shizuka
This is the kind of toy that adults should stop complaining about. This obviously isn't for you so stop moaning as if you belong in the age group this toy was made for. It is after all, a toy.
Murasame
Cant see the photos. Facebook is needed.

Oh thank God. I was starting to think that there wouldn't be yet another new line of gimmicky simplified no articulation garbage formers. Thankfully, I was wrong.
Throw it on the pile!

I hate that right shoulder. It's not symmetrical with the left one, and that pisses me off
