The official Hasbro Studios Shorts YouTube page has posted up an exclusive preview for Transformers: Rescue Bots season 3! This video focuses on showing off the Rescue Bots in their new dinosaur forms.
Has anyone else noticed that the animation models all look a lot better than their actual toys do? I mean the toys can only go from Robot to Dinosaur mode while the animations are meant to be able to also have vehicle modes. Even though I don't think that's really possible having their vehicle modes incorporated into their beast modes really helps sell the idea.
Though Optimus was kind of already designed that way the only difference in the animation model is they moved the front section of the vehicle mode from the side of his best mode to the beast mode's chest.
Blades I think has the least amount of vehicle mode showing but he still looks better than the toy because the toy doesn't even look like a beast while the animation model does. The head and feet are more pronounced so that you can actually tell what it's suppose to be where as the toy just ends up looking like a futurist jet rather than a dinosaur. The wings on the toy are also very flat so if it wasn't for the flapping gimmick I'd be hard pressed to believe that was actually suppose to be a beast mode and not a vehicle.
Anyway… it seems that Bumblebee is the only one who's Dino mode won't be in the show and he's also the only one who didn't steal his beast mode from one of the original 5 Dinobots. Though his beast mode does seem to be shared with BW Dinobot. Would be interesting to see these guys repainted as the original Dinobots. Chase especially because the toy looks more like Snarl than it does Chase. Having the vehicle mode kibble on the Animation model really helps it look more like Chase cause the toy looks like they just slapped his head on Snarl's body.
what is bees dinoform I would like to know I haven't found a toy or maybe there isn't one but I think theres a toy but i cant find an image plus can someone tell me if he ll show up this season
Alright does anyone know if bee will be in season 3 and please can someone tell me what his dino mode is, if there is a toy i haven't found an image yet but please I would like to know
I'd like to think I'm pretty open-minded, when it comes to Habro taking Transformers in different and unfamiliar directions. But, Optimus Prime transforming into a T-Rex…? That is so wrong on so many levels.
Yeah, even though this is the line aimed at the kids I would love to have a full on fully articulated triple changing Optimous Prime that went from his truck mode to Grimlock mode.
We all know that the transformations of these toys are suppose to be dirt easy and simple but damn, Hasbro can you make generations quality triple changers of all of these characters for us collectors? I promise I'll start watching this show if you do!!!
RiD designs though still do look a little like Prime, just more Cybertronian-like. But the RB's look is nothing remotely like TFP.
My opinion is that they are not linked at all, Hasbro only said so to try and get viewers to watch both.
All good For me, they're connected. And if that opinion was true about Hasbro, I wouldn't have watched RB after Prime left a bad taste in my mouth in season 2. Even the the show is connected to Prime, that's not why a lot of people watch it.
The two shows are linked, just very loosely. Animation designs don't really mean jack. The new RiD designs are different from Prime, but they're still linked. IDW constantly changes looks but it's all connected. Although I would've loved to have a crossover in Prime, a Prime version of Heatwave would've been badass, and having him talk with Screamer would've been funny.
OP getting the T-Rex alt mode could be a temporary thing, since we haven't seen this part of the series yet to know what's going on.
There's little things that connect the two shows, such as Morocco selling tech to MECH, and Ratchet being used off screen. RB is meant to be a very isolated show, partly so the two stories don't interfer, as well as story-wise, it was to protect the RBs from the 'Cons.
Other than looks, there's nothing to say the shows aren't connected.

For one thing, there's at least 3 animation studios to consider that have done these shows. 1 did Prime with CGI models and 2 have done RB in a flash style animation. You don't just import one into the other. The Rescue team would look very weird just up and CGI'd outright for Prime without refining them somewhat beforehand to fit Prime's style. You could make equal talking points for why G1 characters weren't looking more like themselves when seen as bodies in stasis in Beast Wars. Animation or continuity are never absolutely perfect. If I'm remembering it right, in Japan they were trying to tie Car Robots to G1 having originally intended to be separate. Just as the Galaxy Force/Cybertron series was meant to be a continuation of the Unicron trilogy here, that became complicated with Gonzo's direction though Hasbro did try and amend that when they imported it here.
I'm going with the story that it's the same characters. That the only reasons they aren't intermixing shows outside of what I've laid out is because A. they never needed to based on individual successes or B. any major character crossovers are probably being saved to ramp up a special event/finale.
If Hasbro wanted to have the two shows linked properly, then they could of had cross collaboration between these studios to ensure that the robots designs were similar, despite the different animation styles they use. Truth is Hasbro didn't put the effort in and just say that they are linked, when in fact they are not. Not even in the scripts are they linked at all in any meaningful way.
But if it is set during TF Prime's run, then that means Optimus has had a powerful dino-mode which he never uses in his own show? WTF?
here is Optimus and Bumblebee in Transformers Prime…
Now here the pair are in Rescue Bots….

If both series are running side by side in the same universe, on the same planet and on the same continent (I don't care that it is an Island, it is still North America), then why the hell does Optimus and Bee look completely different. And I do not mean just slight changes, I mean Optimus looks like a kid friendly G1 version of himself…..with yellow (dead) eyes O.O
And Bee too is completely different except this one little piece of continuity….he doesn't talk (which has been a shtick of his since Bayformers 1).
As far as I know, there are no references of events between either show. And unless Prime and Bee are changing alt modes between visits (which would not matter since the Decepticons could detect them anyway (except in their base), I see no good reason for it.
People claiming that this show is tied to TFP are just deluding themselves, the only show that is tied to TFP is Robots in Disguise coming 2015.
Also if people start saying, "well Jeff Kline says they are."
Back then Hasbro were claiming that everything they brought out then was tied to each other (TFP, RB, WFC/FOC), but they aren't.

As stated previously in this thread, this takes place in Season 1. If you bothered to read it, perhaps you would be aware of this fact instead of bitching about "continuity issues" that aren't there.
Of course, I don't really like RB either but it's a well-produced nuisance.

Interesting angle to play out on TV. I had sort of hoped it wouldn't materialize there given the stretch of rescue themed Autobots needing prehistoric alternate modes. If they've got a great story to go with it, I'll be watching like usual to see where it goes. On a side note, if this upcoming season is 26 episodes in length like the previous 2 seasons, that would place the RB show beneath only G1 where that count is concerned.

Folks, please, it's a Y7 series, let's try to keep the language in that category as well. Thanks.

DAMNIT Optimus is not a fucking T-Rex! Well figures they would screw this up.

To me, the Rescue Bots are Cybertronians, they're Autobots by faction, ultimately lead by Optimus Prime and they're Transformers.
Connection Made….

Some people are/were of the opinion Transformers doesn't work without Earth/humans, and now look at IDW's More than Meets the Eye comic.
Not saying you SHOULD like Rescue Bots, but please stay a way from 'absolute' statements like 'it's not a proper TF cartoon without Decepticons'.
Rescue Bots is a perfectly valid Transformers show for our younger fans, that's fun enough for both kid and parent to enjoy together.
