Big Bad Toy Store has listed a preorder listing for a new Transformers Rescue Bots assortment. The assortment is named “Transformers Rescue Bots Rescan” suggesting the line may be undergoing a fresh revision for 2014, just like how the 2013 product line was by and large marketed under the “Energize” banner.
The assortment is listed as being due in December 2013 and features three toys – Rescan Optimus Prime, Rescan Bumblebee, and Heatwave. There are no pictures of any of them just yet, but one might guess that they are new redecos of the existing toys being brought out to coincide with Transformers Rescue Bots’ second season on The Hub next year.

Here's one I was thinking of:
Roberto Orci on the Next Transformers Animated Series and Whether it Will Continue Transformer Prime's Story – IGN
-ZacWilliam, I believe there was at least one othe official source at the time as well.
Sol Fury
It'll be SDCC 2014 rather than Botcon 2014 before we see anything I think, Hasbro Studios have not done the last couple of Botcons, and have always saved all their really cool reveals for SDCC.
ZacWilliam
Except that's not the info I was referring to.
Iirc we have an actual interview with the guy in charge of the next show where he says it's coming in the Fall and that they sort of want to connect it to Prime but had not ( at that time) decided how connected that would be. I think I remember that at least…
I'll see if I can dig up a link.
-ZacWilliam, once I'm not on my tiny phone.
Wild Eevee
Well I hope these toys actually resemble the cartoon characters.
And I wish they would hurry up with season 2.

I don't want more toys, I want more episodes! D:

I also love how they made it a part of the Prime universe.
Thought I gotta wonder if they'll do any more crossovers, now that Prime ended the way it did.
Oh…could you just picture Ratchet doing a guest spot on Rescue bots?!

The thread is very long, but eventually its revealed that everything stated in the initial post was basically error, or mistaken information.

Not that I would bet they would but we could finally be getting Rescue Bots with good articulation.

…and adult fans too. I thought the last word we had was Spring 2014…not the 4th Quarter. I really hope it's coming back late winter/early spring 2014. Now with TFP over, we need another TF series to hold us until the movie premieres….and Rescue Bots is well written, acted and animated…a great series.
When it does return, keep watching and discuss the series with us, we have discussion threads in TFGD every week when a new ep airs. Several of us love the series, as I mentioned above, it's well written and acted. We were very impressed that even tho it's supposed to be for youngsters..6-12, it's not dumbed down…adults can enjoy the humor and story lines too…even the villains.

Rescue Bots surprised the hell out of me! It's obviously aimed at younger children, but its good enough that an adult can watch it with their kids. And who doesn't love Tim Curry playing bad guys in stuff?
Dormamu
I utterly love Rescue Bots. Good writing, excellent interaction with the characters, great cast (Levar Burton is awesome), and some decent challenges or villains in each episode. I'm glad they're getting a season 2. It was at times a better show than Prime, and more interesting.
ZacWilliam
Got a link to back that statement?
I recall it being from very official sources (the guys making the show) and have seen nothing contradicting it on any news site.
ZacWilliam, not saying it's not possible but I believe that info source over you without a link for backup.
Hollywood Hoist
I talked to the designer of the Rescue Bots about some of the changes you would like to see.
2 – They changed the possibility in the arms for the human characters based on kids play pattern. Because young kids tend to line up figures rather than pose them. I don't know if there is more to it than that, but that's what he told me.
3 – There is added challenges in designing a boat figure, they could say that it isn't meant to be put in water, but inevitably kids will and they need a way for water to drain out of the figure. He did say there were several other rescue vehicles they were considering making toys for, but ultimately the stores wanted the main characters. Also waves for pre-school toys are different than that of regular action figures.
That being said, I hope they make big versions of Boulder and Blades, as well as PVC Frankie, Dani and the Morbots.

All that "official" info was debunked shortly after it came out. All we know is that something is planned for late 2014, whether it will follow Prime or the the "aligned" continuity, movieverse, or something completely new (and its intended target audiance) is not really known. But it would seem to make sense that BC 2014 would be the time to bring forth info about the next installment of Transformers in Animation
ZacWilliam
I believe they confirmed there were no new robot characters in Season 2. Though I suppose they could do more Cartoon accurate Robot toys of the existing cast…
-ZacWilliam, a rescue boat (SeaWatch) would have been pretty nice…
Dinobot Nuva
Energize was just a filler line while they prepared Season 2 related stuff I'm assuming.
ZacWilliam
Even before that we've had it confirmed a number of times from official sources that the next regular TF Cartoon is coming FALL 2014.
I expect we'll see our first info on it at either BotCon on SDCC next summer.
-ZacWilliam, we know they want it to at least semi-follow on from TF Prime but aimed just a bit younger. And last we heard they had not yet decided how much of a real sequel to Prime it would be…
RedAlert Rescue
I got a partially clear Optimus in Sainsbury's today 1/3rd off – what I really want is Hoist and Medix – I wish they'd make more like them.
if they are refreshing the brand I'd like to see a few changes.
1) Robots that have movable arms (Playskool Gobots did so can Rescue bots)
2) Human figures with better joints.
3) If they carry on making the PVC's I'd like to see the Morebot as a PVC
4) Some sort of Blades themed playset.
and a few new character regardless of if they are on the show or not – a Coast Guard boat and a Motorcycle would be good for example. I also hope they'd at least consider making a Morebot transformable toy.

Rescan=recolors, same product I'm guessing
Supposeddly there will be a season 2 coming sometime.
Transformers: Rescue Bots Season 2 – It's A Wrap! – Transformers News – TFW2005
Its kind of sad that every action show I liked has been cancelled, now I am imaptiently waiting for a 2nd season of a show that my 8 year old enjoys more than i do…
At the investor day, Hasbro had a timeline relfecting an "animated event" tennatively for Q4 2014. I imagine no other etails wil be forthcoming for quite some time

Perhaps it won't have more than 52 episodes, but the next season should air sometime in the winter or spring.
