We heard about them at a Press Conference. We saw them at the New York Toy Fair 2011. Now, it’s time to check out some exclusive CGI Renders and Art for Transformers: Rescue Bots; Playskool’s upcoming Transformers addition to their already successful Adventure Heroes toyline (about to be known as Playskool Heroes in the future).

Slated for release in August 2011, “Transformers: Rescue Bots” is the successor of Transformers: Robot Heroes. Based on the same concept as Superhero Squad and Hero On-The-Go, Rescue Bots mainly focus on educating children regarding hazards and safety.

Official Description: "Anything can get done when Transformers Rescue Bots and their friends team up! Help fight fires, flood and crime, or anything in between – the Rescue Bots love adventure and rescue!"

The initial team of Autobots for the line consists of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Chase The Police-Bot, Heatwave The Fire-Bot, Blades The Copter-Bot and Boulder The Construction-Bot. Human figures are associated with various rescue tools and colored accordingly to a certain Autobot of the same line.

Additionally kids can collect playsets known as (but not limited to) “Fire Station Prime” and “Bumblebee’s Rescue Garage”, very similar to the previously mentioned “Hero On-The-Go” packs.

We say a hearty “Thank You!” to TFW2005 Member Matrix Soul for providing us these images and we do hope that you all will enjoy and say a few words about this upcoming line.

Take a look at the Concept Art, after the jump.

Think Playskool but actually kind of cool. They're TFs (well, Autobots) that are for much younger kids and are a rescue force, not a war force. There's like a little fire station and stuff and Optimus is a firetruck again. They were at Toyfair.

I'm pretty sure it's the same thing.

Shameless pluggage:

Transformers Rescue Bots Toys - Transformers - TFW2005

Haven't got all the humans in there yet. Wasn't sure on the names. Will add them when more information is available.

Ohhhhhhhh when Matrix Soul posted and said something about CG renders, I assumed he was working on some kind of 3rd party thing I had missed hearing about. Yeah I saw the playschool bots at toyfair. Just couldn't put 2 and 2 together I guess. lol
Bumblethumper
Boulder... is that like a Rock Lords homage? Until I saw the names, I'd assumed that was Bulkhead.
Sol Fury
Me too! But our own NIBMRatchet did some work on Amazon, and dug up some listings, and those were the names. That was the one that we both agreed was the best fit.

I guess beyond Bumblebee and Optimus, the idea was to use new / less known names so they don't get associated with the main series and the war connotations?

well, the character seemed like Bulkhead superficially, but the new name definitely fits. I looked it up and sure enough there actually was such a Rock Lord, even if it's not much of a likeness.

Though I suppose they're both sorta green and wear helmets.

iamste
Is it wrong that I actually want w couple of these things for myself? :/
Dinobot Nuva
Somebody needs to give these hilarious, meme-worthy captions. Can't wait to buy me a Boulder and Prime.
dark69
they look cute...have a good animated feel to them

i love rock lords hehe
Oracle_Aesir
Love those Autobots Hope they aren't too expensive, but the playsets are a pass for me
Bumblethumper
This whole concept seems really well conceived.

Great stuff for kids. I like the mix of easily recognisable TF characters with less well known, but well-developed additions to the team.

Why? You don't like it when kids get something they might enjoy?
Overhaulimus
The fact that a few people think Optimus is a firetruck is funny, the CGI render shows Optimus as a big rig, the firetruck in the ToyFair pics are of Heatwave Firebot.

I'm actually gonna buy the Optimus one, I'm a sucker for Prime.

I don't see the problem. This poses no threat to the older Movie/Classics/Prime stuff, and will pull in new fans at an early age.

Should help them develop their manual dexterity. And be safe to suck/chew on.
Moroni Prime
I honestly surprised at the fact that nobody has noticed the STRONG similarities to RESCUE ROY, POLICEMAN PETE, CHOPPER CHARLIE, AND STRONGBOT.

yeah, hook them while they're young
Moroni Prime
Upon further inspection, I'm getting more of an ARMADA SCAVENGER vibe from BOULDER than I am a STRONGBOT one.
Kevin XI
I think they're cool. I'll buy these for the kids in my family. They won't get frustrated because they're easy to transform, and I won't have to do it every five minutes. And they probably won't break as easily as mainlines.
WuLongTi
hmmn... In the illustration with the cop bot directing traffic... it's bad enough that he takes up the whole intersection and no one could get around him, but all of the streets appear to be one way streets converging into the same intersection... If any of those cars go straight their in for a head on collision.

Anyhoo, these look like a great way to get my nephews (3 and 5) into transformers. My 2 year old daughter would probably get into these too... she love Optimus in all his forms.
Karhukjnsi
They remind me of Playskool Protectobots.
darthJMZ
I am absolutley picking these up for my son!

He's actually stopping other cars from running into each other, assuming that the decepticons had changed all the signs so that the cars were all going into the intersection.
big hank
I think they look great for what they are. I would pick up a few. Anybody know the rough size class and price on these. They look "Legends-y" but could also be simplified Scout sized.

Price not given yet. I assume somewhere around "Gravitybots" price point because of the similar concept.
Brawlastator
Those are actually cool drawn designs.

I think I smell a new set of background characters that IDW will constantly blow up.
SeiberBirdR
Great concept. I think this is a winner that can be expanded upon. Not so much something for myself but there are always those kids who love transforming robots but are not allowed toys that glorify war.
ORIO
So getting all of these for my kid! I tracked down a bunch of playskool gobots before he was born and I was always wondering why they didn't make an Optimus for the line
PyjamaPrime
these guys actually look kinda cool. when the post said they were successors to Robot Heroes, i thought that meant they were static figurine-types. but since seeing that they transform and all... i think i might actually get these guys (well, everyone except Prime and BB).

the vehicle and robot modes look really interesting and even though they seem to have Legend class articulation, they'd be great for... children... that i'll have in the future... right. I'll buy them for my future children... lol

its this show, game, toys except with transfromers
Autobot Burnout
These look kinda cool, really. I'm especially liking that other firetruck robot (not Prime) because for some reason I am getting a lot of "Wrecker Pyro" vibes from him. Depending on the size, I might even be able to kitbash one by using not-Pyro's chest as a base.
Paxtin
I like the hunchback police car.
GENOZAUR
oh man the kids are just gonna love this
Omnius
Some nice designs in there, very stylized, with plenty to appeal to kids & big kids alike. I can see these selling well.
Ribieconvoy
I wish I had an excuse to buy these. I love the official lines for their complexity, but these seem like they'd be fun just to have at the desk and transform when you're bored. Well, more entertaining than the Allspark Rubiks cube and Ice Cream Twins I have at the desk now.
MaxLinden
God dam it.
DJW107PRIME
Wait so do they have to fight Decipticons or somethin?
bignick1693
This is cool for little kids but they got the names wrong. Police car should be prowl constuction vehicle is bulkhead and firetruck is inferno.
Runamuck
Blades and Chase, huh? Some G1 names, right there, that I haven't heard in awhile. Maybe they'll get mainline figures in the future? One can hope.
Dolza_Khyron
love the prime and bee playsets, "autobots transform and come into my mouth!"

I think this sums up my reaction quite well, also. Props to Matrix Soul for some killer coloring work as well, and certainly appreciate you sharing it with us here

Things like this continue to keep the TRANSFORMERS brand healthy
boxorak
Very interesting. I like Bumblebee's "Bayminated" look; seems like one kids would be familiar with. Heatwave (who I assume isn't the Nexus Prime component, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was) reminds me of Billy Blazes from the old Rescue Heroes line.
The only thing I don't like is Boulder, the Constructicon-Bot. Seriously, Hasbro? He had to be a Constructicon?
theestampede
I want that prime, not sure about the others, but they could be cool. just wish these had a few more joints, not asking for super articulated figures, but some big chunky hips, knees and elbows would have been appreciated.

I know these are for kids, but I hated figures that didn't have basic articulation when I was a kid. I remember leaving the tiger and triceretops zords off of the original megazord and just using the trex's legs which had knees.
rizuan76
BIG thumbs up to the overall concept. I like it a lot, have a very SD-ish feel to 'em.

My five-yr old nephew would go crazy with this kinda stuff. he's alrdy TF crazy as it is (due to me of coz! ).

LOL . It says "Construction-Bot".
savage dragon
these are ALL going on my shelf next to the 1-2-3's and go-bots. hope they are relatively the same size (half way between deluxe and old mega for those who don't remember.)
i'll be getting two bee's one for me and one for my 2 year old daughter. she loves my power bot animated bee, now she can have her own bot.
Angelwave
Ooooo.....I want these...they look adorable.

Then the line gets canceled like Robot Heroes.........
