Rescue Bots Wave 5 Adds New Characters Hoist and Medix

I was just going to post it too. I am also wondering, are the Rescue Bots now going to come with the corresponding humans as well?

The stock photos for these do show the human & accessory combinations as well so I'd imagine the image is probably a placeholder. I can't see the humans coming with these, not without bumping up the price point.

Hmm, Medix, shame we couldn't have gotten first aid or Fixit.

But new rescue bots can only be a good sign that the toyline is doing well.

Nice to finally see new characters. Also nice to see they're re-releasing some of the rarer figures. I don't collect Rescue Bots, but I heard some figures like Boulder, Blades, and Chase were a pain to get, so this is good for collectors and children who could never find them before.

Hoist is back sweet.

Medix is a terrible name. Should have went with either Ratchet (since it's in Prime and he could re-occur like Prime and Bee) or used the name Lifeline but oh well.

I wonder if they will be new characters joining the cast in the next season?

Hoist should totally be able to pull other Rescue Bot vehicles like a real tow truck.

Also, how are they planning on putting in the new robots in the show? They did leave open the possibility back in the first episode when it was implied the Autobots had long lost track the RB's were even still alive (and possibly more than just the four main bots being the implication), but are the humans going to be part of the Burns family as well?

Finally, the next wave should have a MorBot w/ Morrocco human companion for the Rescue Bots to fight.

Actually, I'm kinda glad they went with the new name "Medix", since there's only so many medics in the TF universe, and it would be a new character anyway.

I'm happy. I'm glad to see the toyline and show's going strong.

These new ones had better be easier to find than Boulder, Chase, and Blades! Took me a bit to find Boulder, only saw him a few times. I saw Chase once, but my son wasn't into them yet. Haven't seen Blades at all. I can walk blindfolded into Target and find Heatwave and OP and Bee.

I hope they offer the show-accurate human characters. Young Cody is availabe with the Mobile HQ set. Must have them all.

I think like Boulder the name was chosen to establish a new personality away from the existing characters.

Granted in a series with less violence First Aid could work, he was a pacifist in G1 Season 3 when he got his turn in the spotlight, so I'd imagine he would have a perfect reason to spend time away from the main conflict.

Still, can't fault Hasbro for adding a new character to the mythos. With all the reused names and identities, it's nice to have someone new brought in now and then.

There are some two packs coming, which have non-transforming, show accurate robots and their human partners included. Optimus w/ Cody, Bumblebee w/ Cody, Chase w/ Chief Burns, Heatwave w/ Kade and bizarrely Blades w/ Graham. These were confirmed at the SDCC, got some pics up in our Resources section if you want to take a look.

I hope Hoist looks cool.

1) Awesome that there are new Rbots coming. I was hoping we'd hear about these at Botocn but better late than never.

2) I understand why not Ratchet. But it would have been kinda in to see First Aid or Fixit get used again. THAT said, a new medic is not a bad thing. There are reletively few. It's always good to get another. Least it wasn't Pharma.

3) Aww I was hoping for a Coast Guard boat homaging SeaWatch myself. He'd fit right in.

I hope they eventually take the age range up a year to the level of playskool Transformers as adorable as Rescue bots are they are inferior toys in terms of fun and play value to the Playskool ones. and the only real difference is that Rescuebots are downloaded age wise at toddlers and the Playskool ones while still simple give the kids enough credit to be able to move the characters arms when Transforming them.

I was half hoping they might reissue some of the old Playskool ones as a Rescuebots sub-brand as they are terrific toys.

time to sell my new Blades if they are going to get repacked. Bought it for my kid, but he lost interest. Things are selling for like $40+ on Ebay.

"Medix". Pronounce that out loud slowly a few times and you might get why I started giggling insanely at the news. I do hope these are show characters as well as toy characters, though.. more medics are never a bad thing, if Knockout is any indication.

A brand new Medibot? Nice, we could always use more of them. I do kind of wish it was Red Alert, though... Thing is, I doubt that he would be considering how GEEWUN and the movieverse take precedence over the UT and TFA in the Aligned continuity...

And Medix may be a girl.

But we don't know yet.

That would be one ugly-ass girlbot. Not to disparage RB, but damn, I can't see a female face working real well with how the RB team designs robot faces.

And the TV show is very very good.

My main problem with Rescue Bots is that the toys looks for an younger public than the show. I would like some "upgraded" Rescue Bots toys.

A rescue boat character would be a nice addition.



I thought the auto-transform feature would be great, but my sons end up trying to do the transformation in parts and get frustrated that they can not.

I hope the stores that still carry this line can sell through the previous cases with 2 each of Prime and Bumblebee so they can get this new assortment.

Nice to see they're expanding the toy line, wonder if it has anything to do with the season ending episodes???...they'd have to rewrite the opening lyrics if they add more bots in the show.
Not really wanting them to add more bots in the series, I like the Bots and humans as is.

Ordered on sight! That is one of my favourite cartoons and the toys are of a higher standard than PRID ( plastic quality and paint apps ). My Daughter enjoys the show and toys, and when she grows up they can rejoin my collection

It would be nice for Robin Atkin Downes to officially voice a Transformer not counting him as an Ancient Prime in ROTF. Though if Medix is a girl that wouldn't be bad either.

I wouldn't mind there being a specific wave of Rescue Bots Legions/Legends slotted in before the Movie 4 toys come out. they seem to suit the concept well - and it would even allow for More-bot to be made as well.
