Now some new information regarding Rescue Bots and a minor follow up from a story from yesterday! Yesterday, a new Rescue Bots Rescan Blurr was spotted, along with Rescan Optimus Prime, in Hong Kong. Which lead us to momentarily wonder what happened to Rescue Bots Salvage, as he had been previously shown to share a wave with the new Optimus. Well fear not, as 2005 Board member ShinHadouConvoy has found Salvage at his local Target in Dallas, TX. This Garbage truck bot will also join Hightide and Blurr among the new Rescue Bots characters. One remaining question remains is if Rescan Optimus is shipping with Salvage, just Blurr, or with both? This newsie is confident we’ll find out the answer soon.
For now, click the title bar to discuss new Rescue bots and if they’ve been sighted in your area!

For what it's worth, we call them bin vans – at least in North Manchester (UK).

Now there's a face that says "Guys, I really gotta poop! …A lot!"
ericepy
bin lorry. that's funny
SpinalCord
Huh. Must be a St. Louis thing then, because we call them dump trucks AND garbage trucks (more so dump trucks actually)… and we say trash truck (like I said, taking the trash to the dump, so it was a dump truck which is apparently incorrect). Really, garbage was rarely ever used in the community I lived in, but we also use hoosier as a derogatory term for white trash due to something to do with some fight with Indiana… can't remember the history. So maybe it's a very regional-specific synonym. My bad. Learned something new today, but I still don't care

So, will this mean Griffin Island will be overwhelmed with garbage and require a new Rescue Bot to save them?
We've heard about this for what seems ages, about time he showed up.

New Rescue Bots for my toddler. Yay!
ZapRowsdower
Look the same to me.
Anyone else psyched out by how you have to CLIMB STAIRS to drive that dump truck?!?! I wanna drive that sucker!!!!
To get a good sense of scale: anyone remember that Jackie Chan movie where he drove one of those through a building?! Might've been a dump truck, cause it was huge.
Soundwinder
Uh, yeah. Two different things, even in America.
Autovolt 127
Poor Salvage, you'll never be in the cartoon will you.
IgnikaMarcus
I too live in the U.S., and they are NOT the exact same.
Want proof?
Dump Truck:
Garbage Truck:
As you can plainly see, they are indeed, two totally different things.

Great toy after great toy just keep popping up everywhere!!!
ORIO
They're garbage trucks where I live.
Was Rescan Optimus also found in TX?

As a Brit I can say I call a dump truck a dump truck and a garbage truck a bin lorry.
OCProwl
Huh? I've lived in Southern California my whole life and always thought these were two different things: dump truck = the kind you see at the construction site, garbage truck = the one you see in suburbia picking up consumer trash.
Google "dump truck" images and then Google "garbage truck" images, and you see two vastly different kinds of waste management vehicles (and exactly how I've always thought of the two, and I'm not British).
By those terms Salvage is definitely a garbage (or recycle) truck.
SpinalCord
Yes they are. Look at where I live… dump trucks and garbage trucks are the exact same thing in the U.S.. I'm not British, not everybody uses terminology in the same way. We take garbage to the dump, which is why they're synonymous for us. We don't even use the term lorry.
Kraken
No they're not. Long Haul is a dump truck, a transport for large quantities of aggreagate materials in the constuction industry. Salvage is a garbage truck, a lorry that goes around the streets collecting garbage bags and emptying bins. Wee bit of a difference.
Yes, that comment was posted in another thread which has now been merged into this one.
SpinalCord
They are literally the exact same thing, what the fuck
I know! I sort of like it, it makes the reveals more exciting (plus, less waiting to get them)

It's already been reported here:

Does anyone like the picture

It's a garbage truck, it literally says so right there on the packaging.
