October / November Issue of Transformers Collector's Club Magazine now Arriving! Nexus-3
The October / November issue of the Transformers Collector's Club magazine has started to arrive in member's mailboxes! This issue features:

- Transformers Animated Tech Specs for Warpath and Seaspray
- Upcoming product preview images of Revenge of the Fallen Dirge, Lockdown, Bludgeon, Human Alliance Barricade, Legends Class Wheelie and Soundwave. These are the same images shown previously at the San Diego Comic Con, but all the clearer for appearing in print.
- Shattered Glass More than Meets the Eye style bios for Heroic Decepticons Cyclonus and Heatwave. Heatwave is the exclusive figure for those who have renewed their membership this year, so this is your chance to find out his background story. Meanwhile Cyclonus features colors by none other than TFW2005 staff member and all around nice guy Drew Eiden!
- Nexus Maximus no more! The unfortunately named combiner goes by the originally intended name of Nexus Prime in the comic strip!

So watch your mailboxes over the next few days for this latest issue from the Transformers Collector's Club. You have to be a member to receive the bimonthly magazine, and the annual exclusive toy for renewing your membership. Find out more and how to sign up at the Official Transformers Collector's Club homepage!

Got mine today.

The highlights:

-Animated techspecs for Warpath and (lol) Seaspray. Seaspray looks hilarious, he's like this fat little guy wearing an innertube!

-Images of RotF Dirge, Lockdown, Legends Soundwave, Bludgeon, HA Barricade, and Legends Wheelie. Same as the pics from SDCC, but clearer.

-Bios for Shattered Glass Heatwave and Cyclonus.
megamus:

Can you describe what the Animated techspecs say?
BraveMax:
Even more important? "Nexus Prime". They didn't call him "Nexus Maximus" in the comic!
Prime Aspect:
Seaspray: aqueduct security guard. Loves his job

Warpath: Elite guard security. Beats up prisoners. Turned the "radar" on his chest into a cannon.

The artwork probably looks pretty cool, but I save my view on it until I can see it of course.

Ugh. God, I can't wait until this "Shattered Glass" thing finally blows over. All of the preceding TFCC newsletter SG bios and parts of the comic have been terrible; I'm only interested in Heatwave's bio due to his part in forming Nexus Prime/Maximus.

That aside, the Animated mini-profiles have been a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to some pics of HA Barricade.

I hope I'll be able to look past the horrible coloring. When will the club get someone who can actually color?

I'm glad to see this mess getting cleaned up.
Lucario Prime:
Cool. Are there scans?
Scaleface:
Well, since Fun Pub said they wanted Nexus Prime initially, but Hasbro's legal department and all wouldn't give them the okay to use it, I guess it's nice they figured it was better to get the name than have a toy robot named after a sex toy.

Can someone post detaled information (with spoilers) of what happens in the comic and the bios? It takes forever for me to get my issue, and I'd like to know now.

Hmmm... I'm a big supporter of the club, but I'm finding less and less to enjoy in these recent issues of the mag.

Aside from a passing interest in seeing how the comic turns out, there's nothing else in there I really care about.
ghowildseven:
I'm interested in the SG bios only.
LatinJEM777:
So is P/CP the free figure this year, or the club exclusive that you buy?
If he is the free fig, In order to get him do you have to sign up by March 15th 2010?

Figure that you buy. He's the smaller, Deluxe class toy, like Nightbeat and Airrazor. There's a bigger one coming too, though details were still being finalized as of Botcon.

It was intended for them to come out December this year / early next year. Probably early 2010 now.

The club renewal exclusive might be revealed toward the end of the year. I'd assume it'll be soon to let people know what they're getting. March 15th is the usual sign-up date for the free figure, but that'll be confirmed at the same time as the freebie is revealed.

I'm really glad they went with "Nexus Prime" for the name. That was my favorite of the three names we've heard (i.e., Nexus Prime, Prime Maximus, and Nexus Maximus) and what I was personally planning to call him, so I'm glad to see that it's now official. That, and I will no longer have to worry about posting a disclaimer if I ever mention him somewhere other than a TF board.
Draven:
Cool. I wonder which month mine will arrive in.
Backscatter:
I thought Heroic Decepticons Cyclonus was a traitor to SG Megatron??

I thought the Decepticons in Shattered Glass era should be known as Noble Megatron, Noble Starscream etc, no?
Chaos Prime:
I'm digging Lockdown. I like how they managed to translate his Animated design into a ROTF design.

Warpath sounds like Lockup from the Batman animated series.

Cheer up man, I'm sure someone would gladly show you the pics if you offer 'em USD $40 instead of giving that amount to TFCC.

NEVER! The TFCC said they want to release it as an exclusive but they were currently unable to. Maybe, just maybe, thats changed
Thundershot:
Hmm... On the TFCC board, Pete did say they WANT to release it, but something was preventing it.

At Botcon they said that they want to do a larger figure as an exclusive... I wonder now if anything has changed regarding Defensor...

I'm increasingly having to agree with you on that, though I'd add "bios" to the stuff I care about.
Last year the Club mag seemed to be amping up quite a bit. Almost every issue there was some internet-post-worthy piece of news, and often several.
This year they're just wasting pages on stuff everyone already knows about. I mean, I know there's a bit of a delay between when you have to put the mag together and when we see it--like I can hardly blame them being beat to the punch by just a few days for Ejector-- but all these toys have been known about for months. Meanwhile, we know next-to-nothing about what's coming up early next year for anything that's not deluxe and voyager. If they can't get stuff for those size classes further down the road than what we've seen, what about Legends? Store Exclusives? FABs? RPMs? Robot Heroes? Repaints? A colored pic of Leader Starscream? There's got to be something at this point they can surprise us with.

They also said at Botcon that the figure would be "smaller than a Leader, bigger than a deluxe," so that factors out Defensor.

Dammit.

My dreams, Beastbot, are now crushed.

Ah well maybe next time
Transfan2:
I know that Defensor looks like a cool repaint/remold so I know why you would want it to come out as soon as possible because I have a hope too.

(In regards to Club: I like the forum, but I can understand the frustration & hope it can be resolved as soon as possible, Trust me, I am hoping for the best.)

BScorpinok75:
Where there bios and tech specs released for the other "members" of "team nexus" and if so what issues.
Scaleface:
All the Nexus team had individual bio cards packed in, and they each got full pages bios in different inssues of the club magazine. Oddly the club never assigned them any tech spec numbers. I think they said something about not wanting to limit or define their abilties, which I consider a bit of a cop out.

It's funny that SG Cyclonus is a traitor, while SG Starscream is completely loyal to Megatron. In the G1 universe it's usually portrayed as the opposite.
Beastbot X:
That's on purpose. Y'know, the whole "Shattered Glass" thing.
Scaleface:
I know.
