New Transformers Iniative for the Hasbro Channel "Hunt for the Decepticons"

New Transformers Iniative for the Hasbro Channel "Hunt for the Decepticons" decepticon
At Hasbro's Investor Day in Rhode Island, some new details have emerged for a new Transformers based initiative on their new television channel following the start of Hasbro's joint venture with Discovery. The new initiative will be called "Hunt for the Decepticons". Hasbro also announced that Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman will be working on content for the new network, and although they did not connect their names with the Transformers project, it seems likely.

For competitive reasons, this was the only show they announced for the new network today. However they were willing to drop some names of the talent who will be working on programming for them such as Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci who wrote the scripts for “Transformers” and “Transformers Revenge of the Fallen”. While no specifics were given, Hasbro also announced today a new 2010 initiative for Transformers called “Hunt for the Decepticons”. Could these two be working on a new Transformers television series? Others working on projects for the new network are Will Smith and Overbook Entertainment partner James Lassiter who are working on a pilot for the network, Jeff Kline who is a well-regarded animation show writers in the business (produced Men In Black and the Jackie Chan Adventures), and Adam Beechen who wrote shows for Scooby Doo and Ben 10.
Talent & Shows Announced For Hasbro's New Television Network - Television - ENewsI.com

i know this has been reported on but this shows the name of the show and who will be writting it
Fort Max:
So it's a nest show, big surprise.
TRANS+CRAZY:
Interesting...
Bumblethumper:
not thrilled, but there's not much to go on here.
Valkysas:
"initiative" doesnt exactly equal "series". could just be a way of conveying the concept for the new series. doesnt sound like a good series name.

and I doubt orci and kurtzman will write the series. they probably just came up with the story outline.
Zie:
I dunno if that's going to be a new show, it could just be an advertising movement for their upcoming year of Transformers products and stories.

However it is nice to hear they got some pretty decent talent working on shows for their new network. Currently I can't imagine what they could do with a full TV station other then fill it with old Discovery Channel shows or something, but if they're going to have that much new stuff it should be pretty damn great. Lets hope this new network will be able to compete with the other cartoon channels already kickin around.
Digilaut:
One part of me is positive Kurtzman & Orci are working on it (probably along with other writers)..because it gives them a chance to prove they are capable of writing Transformers without having to worry about Bay or others factors..on the other hand, their involvement and the name 'Hunt For The Decepticons'(LAME name by the way, immediately gives me the idea it's a filler series) kind of gives away it's a movieverse series.

I'll await judgement until I see it. I've always said I'm not opposed to a movieverse series, but right now I don't really feel any excitement..

edit: misread the article..I thought it was about a definitive tv series, but it just says 'initiative'...
Bgrngod:
"Hunt for the Decepticons" is most likely a marketing thing for the NEST line, not a cartoon series.
Attacker_Prime:
Interesting.

Exactly what I was thinking. Just a marketing ploy for the 2010 movie toys.
Wheeljack_Prime:
It might be a subline that will follow "NEST Global Alliance"
Ravenxl7:
While it definitely sounds N.E.S.T. related, I don't think they were talking about the N.E.S.T. Global Alliance sub-line. While I currently don't think that "Hunt for the Decepticoins" (sounds more like a general description than a title), I do think it's something new. It'll be interesting to see what this show/toyline looks like, and how long it lasts. Probably won't be much more than a short filler line in between RotF and TF3, kinda like Classics was.
batcam11:
its a 'meh' title but i hope its one hell of a show!
Scantron:
Kind of ambivalent about the writers involved, but we'll see how it turns out. I'm guessing "Hunt for Decepticons" is either a general name for the direction of the franchise or, if it is the name of the show, it's just a semi-descriptive placeholder name, like how Animated started life as "Heroes".
Optimus747:
If there is going to be a cartoon based on the movie characters/designs, I will probably first know this the same way Obi-Wan knew that Alderaan had been destroyed.
U.Magnus80:
Whatever. Just give me the TOYS!
GreenScream:
Cartoon based on the movie? Yay, just what we needed, more movie-verse toys.

Actually it sounds like a great one. Especially if told through the Decepticons point of view. But I doubt it's anything more than a working title, like "Heroes."
AniProwl:
That's real nice of having two sublines for RoTF, Hasbro.
So, what new cartoon are fans looking forward to?
FMA1987:
i think it might be the new line...introduced

They could fight the Autobucks.

Admit it, we all want Robots that turn into money.
MrSoundwaveGuy:
I highly doubt that "Hunt for the Decepticons" is a show. Probably just some marketing thing
TFfan08:
Umm Did I miss something here? Hunt for Decepticons? A new TF cartoon series or what?

Hasbro has robots that turn into money...

if the new show turns out to be a movie show, the only way i won't start banging my head on things is if they put bludegon in it (and no i am not movie bashing, i am just tired of the constant movie stuff, i need a refreshing break, like animated was). i'll still enjoy it though

but can't wait to see what this "hunt the decepticon" buisiness is abount

and since most of this fandom can't comprehend it i will post it in big black letters:

Hunt the deceptcions is NOT the name of the show but just the marketing campain for 2010, it could mean anything

no i ain't bashing anybody, it is just that i don't want to spend day after day correcting people cause they don't pay attention
jestermon:
It would be neat to have a show where the Autobots looked like the bad guys, I mean in the movie Sideways and Demolishor are just chilling in the courtyard of that old building minding their own business.

Obviously Demolishor had not switched into robot mode or the streets and surrounding area would have been looking very conspicuous, and they could have followed the huge grand canyon sized track to the building.

Unnecessarily huge words are unnecessarily huge.

I hope its a new show, to be honest, but if not, I dont care.
Haloid1177:
I have to agree with the people saying it is a marketing thing. Kinda like "The Pursuit of Cobra" for Joe. It also fits with the new NEST subline starting next year. Everything points to a marketing ploy, and not a new series.

And if it was a new series, it wouldn't be as good as Animated anyways.

C'mon man, at least try to read the whole thing through before jumping to wild conclusions and qq'ing.
theestampede:
If this is a movie related cartoon, I will have nothing to do with it. I don't mind buying the occasional movie toy, but I am not a fan of the designs in any way and I will be voting with my money when it comes to the new series. Like everyone else though, this sounds like a new marketing thing to me. I am definitely interested to find out what this is.
Yobuster:
To quote the investor conference
"Hunt for the Decepticons" is a multi-layer cross-category global promotion.

It sounds to be more like a marketing or sublime. Probably linking up different products and not just toys. I've listened to the Hasbro Investor conference and they have not mentioned much about Transformers that we did not already know.
TheFallen:
The article never stated the announcement of a Transformers series, just My Little Pony.

But what if they brought back all the people that worked on Animated for a new show?

Speaking of Animated, where the hell is the US release of Season 3 at anyways?

Well it could be the name of the show; they didn't say it was, or it wasn't.
megatronkicksas:
I sense a disturbance.
guard convoy:
it could possibly be the name of the next show, but that name sucks, but anyways they said they couldn't state ANYTHING about the next transformer show, so it ain't the show.......so CHANGE THE THREAD TITLE IT IS INCORRECT
Triggerhappy:
wouldn't it be sweet if it was a post-movie animated movie cartoon and we get to see Recon Ironhide track down and tussle with Bludgeon!

Yeah it would!
NIBMRatchet:
Heard that the new "N.E.S.T Global Alliance" subline has a plot, which establishes new rivalries (Ironhide vs Bludgeon, Bumblebee vs Soundwave etc...)
I guess that a tv cartoon series will tell us the stories about those incidents.
I'm a huge movieverse fan. I'd love to see such a show.
Here's to hoping.

Heroes would've been a better name. Not so sure in this case.
grimlock1972:
well i don't know if this is the true name for the next series or not, but no matter what the name is, if it is movieverse themed there will be repaints of already existing movie toys aplenty as filler to get as much use of the molds as possible but seriously i want something different than the movie verse with simpler transformations fuelled by designs not complicated by real world alt modes lord knows we don't need any more stress inducing transformations like ROTF leader Prime
Mr. Sparklebot:
I honestly don't think they'd make a movie based TV series. Even if it's cartoonized, the designs probably won't be too different - what would they do, sell the same movie toys in new packaging?

Unless they do something like this... *shudders*

YouTube - Transformers fight for energon
MekaGojira3k:
At first I was like "NEST SHOW?"
But yeah, I think it's just saying the new initiative is the NEST line.
However we do know Alex and Orci are involved, so that may even
lend us to a more movie-verse oriented show. Although even that was
vague and only hinted that they would be working on programming.
Dran0n:
Well, this sounds promising and interesting....
AniProwl:
I wish Kickback would give us his wonderful insight on this.

Yeh, I don't see why they would be involved if this wasn't a movie-verse show. They're bigshot hollywood writers, and presumably don't come cheap.
The_Black_Sheep:
*fingers crossed* that this is just some sort of marketing slogan for the NEST line... but what if the next cartoon series is based on the Classics line? (so that it ties in with Classics 3.0) That would be freaking awesome! :O Why aren't I working for Hasbro?
