rework:
Wow, the share price is up over 10% in early trading... Speaking as a stock holder: Woot!
shroobmaster:
Movie is ruining transformers! Those numbers are lies and slanders.
Paladine:
Oh good it's up. Time to sell.
SmokescreenGT:
That's great news! Go Transformers!

No way. Hasbro has been the best long term investment I've made. I have a block of shares I've been holding since 2000 and the annualized return has been over 11% not including the dividend payouts. That's hard to beat.
Wheeljack_Prime:
Great. Now use those profits to make Scrapper/Hightower/Overload.
Flyby33:
hopefully the numbers stay strong and they continue with tf's for a long time
Megatronwp38:
Very cool, go Transformers! I wonder if they can tell which figure they sold the most of? As if I don't know it's probably Bumblebee and Optimus.
hippymule:
In my opinion some of the best figures are comming out now or came out in late december, so no wonder!

You beat me to it.
Crown_Athlete:
You wouldn't know it seeing the stores struggling to move merchandise.
Veloxiraptor:
Would that this were enough to silence the "RotF toys aren't selling because this one store I go to is PACKED with them!" crowd.
shroobmaster:
Of course not, God himself wouldn't be able to, just like the TFA FLOPPED people they'll ignore links to sites like this and keep repeating themselves for all eternity.
In special there was this guy who kept saying that CYBERTRON WAS THE TRUE SUCCESS after calling people out on TFA's "failure" who completely ignored that TFA's year share wasn't as good as movie but still higher than everything else since Armada's end.
UltraPrimal:
Transformers superior. All other brands inferior.
Waverider:
These numbers will not be there is Hasbro listened to all the fans saying Hasbro should do this/Hasbro should do that crowd.

My nearest toy shop is packed with Classics Inferno and Vector Prime.
Does that means Classics is a failure too?

Yeah I only shop at one store.

Nah in that case it means that ONLY YOUR STORE IS SELLING BAD.
teruo kaiba:
Sold out of my position in Hasbro today. Great run up from last year when I bought in, but I'm a little hesitant on their ongoing strong sales for the coming year. Lack of movie tie in toys will hurt them a bit compared to 09, especially since boys toys were one of their biggest money makers. I will definetly be looking to get back in somewhere around the mid 20's. Just my opinion though.
Backscatter:
As a Hasbro Shareholder, I was happy to get the email this morning.

JacobPGalvatron:
Yay!
Now drop the prices and make me an Overload!
Nao!

You should've bought AAPL.
Transformers sold well because there was huge discounts on all the items. ROTF Deluxe for $8 at Target and Walmart. Ultra and Voyager Universe for 50% off. Now, I see no more deals. In fact, Walmart and Target have greatly shrunken their shelf space for Transformers. I think they're getting ready for slow Q1 sales and are minimizing inventory to make their financial balance sheet look better.

They're reducing shelf space because the movie-rush is done and over, not because the figures aren't selling.

This.
RedAlert Rescue:
I knew Hasbro's shares would rise as soon as they got rid of their star Wars related debts.

Inferno is nice - the color could be redder.
It's cool that TF is Hasbro's flagship. Star Wars toys are starting to bore me.
Accept for that new giant AT-AT
DecepticonsRule:
We never got answers to the questions we gave Hasbro a while back, did we?
PropagandaWar:
Woot! Now where the hell is Transformers Prime! And you all know it wasnt no GI JOE, My Little Pwny was probably hoof stompin those turds!

Well you can guess the generic responses regardless
blackout501st:
yes! money money money! good good good! now use that money to make leader blackout! JK

but still.. would be nice!
but yes money is good. cause more money= more transformers and better transformers! and to all the movie haters out there, at least you should be happy the movie toys sell so well! even if you dont like them, they still rake in the cash for development of new transformers. which is always good. ^^
NCStarscream:
Hasbro:
I contributed substantially to this both as a consumer and by making innumerable successful Transformer sales pitches to customers at the store I work in. I'll take my thanks in the form of Leader Starscream mailed to me right now. You're welcome.
Deadend:
And the stock will keep rising, all the way into next year and more.
The new tv venture come fall will eventually make the stock quadruple, so if you want to get on board for the next 'viacom' hop on now!

Someone sure is bullish!
Hasbro's own guidance is that they expect continued growth for 2010 and I could see this stock take another pop at the end of 2011. Don't know about quadrupling, but there is some nice upside left in this stock. And it's also a decent hedge against another downturn in the economy, because even in bad times, parents buy toys for kids.
