Clearer Look at Marvel Transformers Crossovers Human Torch, Grey Hulk, and Black Spiderman 16l
In a photo gallery of the 2008 Toyko Toy Show at Gunota Headlines, some placecards were in place that showed future Marvel Transformers crossover repaints. Among the figures shown on placecards in one picture was Human Torch (Iron Man repaint), Grey Hulk (Hulk repaint), and Black Spiderman (Spiderman repainta). The picture can be seen by clicking on the image to the left. The placecards are behind the Iron Man and Hulk figures.

Fort Max:
Right there, just behind Iron Man,

From a photo gallery of the Tokyo Toy show I found over at Gunota headlines
blitzwingfan94:
well looks like were getting a grey hulk and black spiderman as well..."sigh"
Beastbot X:
Why are we getting all these posts about "clearer pics"? I STILL CAN'T SEE PRACTICALLY ANYTHING.
Dinobot Nuva:
Eh, glad I went with green hulk afterall.

Also, if Human Torch is just about the same colors, what's the point?
DN
SmokescreenGT:
That grey Hulk's got a lot of blue in him, and the Human Torch doesn't look all that different from Iron Man. A maybe on the grey Hulk but a big ol' pass on Torch.
Optimus Sledge:
Well, I can clearly see from this picture that the Human Torch figure will be red. To be honest, I could have pretty much guessed that.

As it's a completely new mold, I don't see where the problem would be with it's release.

A slightly better look at them, but it's barely better than past photos we've seen. I was hoping that the Grey hulk wouldn't have all that much blue on him, but oh well. He still might make for a good base figure for a WW Grimlock bash.
Dinobot Nuva:
Ah, my b., made it look like another repaint like the rest of the cards.

Still, where's my War Machine repaint?

DN
Kingplay:
they look kinda fugly tbh
Takara_destron:
I'm confused, is the torch mold new or not?
Ravenxl7:

Yes, it is . The only repaints we've seen so far are Grey Hulk and Black Suited Spiderman.

Takara_destron:
Thanks for clearing that up. Still the only one I'm interested in is Iron Man.
Mister Gone:
Yay for using the Ang Lee Hulk for the placard picture. LOL
DeathStorm:
I just have to renew my objection to this whole line of toys - it's a laugable concept. Transformers are Transformers, Marvel is Marvel, Star Wars is Star Wars. I just don't understand who would think the idea of crossing the lines over was a good plan.

SWTF were awful, these just add insult to injury. I only hope it's not indicative of the future...I can see the GI Joe crossovers coming.

To each his own, if you're into these then more power to you and good luck. I just chuckle every time I see them.
dark69:
i love that blue hulk! looks like i will be getting all the repaints lol
gray/blue hulk black spidermand and black iron man
netkid:
Torch could be one of two things:

1. A new figure that shares the same or a similar transformation process with Iron Man.
-or-
2. A heavy retool of the Iron Man figure, which seems too far-fetched.

Either way, I think I'll he will make a great figure, since Iron Man sure is a great way to start off Marvel/TF Crossovers.
Powersa:
Iron Man needs a metallic finish. Right now the figure looks like Plastic Man.
Sy-Rein:
In one of the pics I had seen on TFormers, on the far left side of that Marvel TF display, you can see one of those cards for a Wolverine TF.

How on Earth can you make that decision based upon that picture?
Bass X0:
I will probably buy the Hulk if I can easily replace his head with Armada Demolishor's.
Noisemaze:
They really need to knock it off with the repaints! They're going too far now. At least wait til the 4th or 5th wave before starting the repaints.

Lawl, seeing as how Universe has repaints starting at its second wave.
DN
Grimlock_13:
Iron Man is looking pretty good. Can't see enough of the HUman Torch to really make a judgement one way or the other.
lars573:
For the $23 dollae price tag, Ironman and Venom are the only ones worth it.
Deceptigtar:
LAME!!!
Grade-A-Prime:
hrmph, can't tell from the pic even if the hulk is green or gray. "clearer?" not really.
I sure hope the human torch is more than just a straight re-paint. Wouldn't they at least retool the head and arms a bit??

Oh, and did anyone else notice they used the promo pic from the Ang Lee Hulk for the placecard?? That's Eric Bana's Hulk, not Ed Norton's. BAAADDD Idea!!

G.A.P.

I agree. SWTF sucked very hard. To me at least. These look better, but I'm still not buying any.

I don't see what's wrong with them.
At it's heart Transformers is just a toyline of repaints.

Yeah! It wasn't like this back in G1. I loved how different Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp were.
Laser_Optimus:
OMFG! A Transformers line is using repaints!!! What is the toy industry comming to?!

*ahem*

On a more serious note... I really can't see anything any clearer in this pic than in the previous card pics of Human Torch, but if I remember correctly those whom saw the pics before at one convention or another stated that Torch wasn't a remold of Ironman, but an all new mold. The only repaints thus far are Black Spider-Man (from normal Spidey) and Grey Hulk (from Green Hulk). Considering we're getting a Wolverine in his tiger striped suit I'd expect either a brown & tan 80's repaint or his current all blacks X-Force repaint out of it. I can't honestly see Torch or Venom getting any repaints as the characters really don't lend themselves to being repainted very easily.
SilverDragon:
Personally, I think they look cool, although so far I'm only getting Iron Man (and possibly Wolverine), because he's my favourite out of the ones shown so far.

I can't see why the Human Torch would be a straight repaint of Iron Man, so I'm in the camp who think he's a new mold. Maybe they're just using the Iron Man TF pic to placehold or something (Grey Hulk's picture being there doesn't mean anything, as they could have just photoshopped the original).

And this is probably just me, but wouldn't it be cool if Thor made it into this line?
Dropshot:
Too bad they did the proportiuons too kiddie, this could've been a great line. I'm passing
noblekale:
Could just be my love for Iron Man, but if they would repaint IM repeatedly, as long as the repaints make sense, I'd get them. War Machine, Silver Centurian, Original Armor, Golden Armor, I'd get them. Of course, that's if they spread them out so they're not all in one wave or another.

As for repaints, once again, as long as they make sense, they're great. Black Spidey, Grey Hulk, they're great. Now painting Hulk pink and calling him She-Hulk, no. Nor painting Venom green and calling him Green Goblin. (although they do have a multitude of symbiotes they can pick and choose from, Carnage, the group from Separation Anxiety, etc...)

Here's hoping for a GOOD Ghost Rider Transformer. That KO-TF from Toy Biz sucked

Hasbro said they won't be crossing GI Joe and TFs because at the moment, neither property needs the team up. Both are doing well. I guess by that logic Star Wars and Marvel licenses could use a bit of a boost.

I think it needs to be stated here that, seeing the first 4 Marvel TFs at Botcon.... I was surprised at how HUGE these things are for $15. They're bigger than the SWTFs. Especially Venom, he's like Movie Voyager Ironhide huge.
Railguard:
I'm still going to have to pass.
catch22:
I can't wait for Wolverine's, it looks like it has a ton of kitbash potential
Robogeek28:
Hulkalicious!

I'd actually be surprised if they don't repaint Venom into Carnage. Or maybe Toxin.

They might try an Iceman (in his spiky depiction) out of Torch.

how about giving Venom a new head and making him Sabertooth?
LightningZERO:
There's always Gargan Venom, or even Anti-Venom

I'm surprised that Black Spidey repaint has the comic book white spider, I was expecting straight black repaint like the movie, now he's a must get for me!
alien:
wow...humantouch in bot mode?
SMOG:
Human Torch does look sort of close to Iron Man.

Also, he looks like he might use CLEAR orange parts... wouldn't surprise me.

I'm an old-time Marvel Zombie, but the truth is I really don't care much for this concept. I'm excited about the figures pretty much purely as kitbash fodder. But that's enough to make me excited at least.

Nobody else make out the placecard in the middle for the Invisible Woman?

Sorry...
gargunkle:
Apart from the main first release figures primarily pictured (green Hulk, etc) I really can't make much out of those shots.

Actually, now that you mention it I can see them attempt Toxin from Venom, but I'd prefer they give Carnage another mold entirely.

I think Iceman from Torch would be pushing it a bit, but who knows?

well, you'd be hard pressed to find a popular Marvel character who could share the Torch mold. Sunfire? Original nazi-melting robot Torch?

True enough. I'm not sure who would be a good fit and given that I'll be surprised if we do get a repaint/remold out of him.
