TFW2005 sponsor BigBadToyStore has sent out an e-mail to their distribution list that they will be posting pre-orders for several new solicitations from TakaraTomy. The biggest among the announcements is that Alternity A-04 will be Starcream (White) and Skywarp (Purple). Starscream and Skywarp will have a car alt-mode, in the form of an Okamora Orochi (see image to the left). TakaraTomy will also release another repaint of the Device Label USB Memory Stick as Cheeta (Cheetor) and the release of Device Label Broadcast. Buzz Lightyear will be added to the Disney Label line, turning into a spaceship. The store also says they have more Transformers Animated pre-order coming up, with no further details.

'Oh i wish it was a Shelby Cobra'.
FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME.
Alternity is made for the Japanese makret.
It has focused entirely on Japanese makers so far and is likely to continue doing so.
During Binaltech, Takara mentioned that they felt the toys which turned into non-Japanese cars were not as well received in Japan.
Alternity is not made for the American Market.
Alternity is likely to continue using Japanese manufacturers.
In the words of one Basil Fawlty: Please try to understand before one of us dies.

ok all the carscream and carwarp is kinda annoying considering that these versions in alternity are multiple world straddling god like celestial beings. so now they are more STARscream and SKYwarp then ever cause in all alternity reality they can probably accomplish the name task SS can scream at stars and SW can literally warp the sky.

That Corvette Sideswipe is, isn't available any where at this point. So that is a moot point.
Plus that was a major block buster movie released like every where, not one of Takara's niche market collector oriented lines.
Binaltech had cars that were not available in Japan, but I don't think anything released in Alternators was not available in America (except say the special edition Mazda RX-8 that Laserwave/Shockblast was).

The Corvette concept isn't produced outside the US, in fact it isn't even a production model, but that didn't stop toys of ROTF Sideswipe from being available the world over.
If it's a cool car, a toy based on it is gonna appeal to people regardless of whether they've heard of it or not.

its hard to like this. I love alternity line so I will get this but, there is nothing wrong with a more fimiliar car. It would have been great to see these guys in a Saleen S7 or something as aggressive looking.

I'm all for seeker cars…
I really like the custom "Thrust" subaru
I have too much tied up inmy alternators to switch to Alternity now…. but black Convoy is SO tempting…
CowColor
the starscream alternity doesn't look bad i might get it but i have to see the pictures of this figure, before deciding.

i really like the car choice for starscream more than just that its damn sexy. the car is called the orochi which means snake and what better term for starscream.also yay for blaster making it out of purgatario.
PoweredConvoy
Yeah the deals between Takara and these Japanese car companies do not exist between Hasbro and said car companies. The Orochi in particular is a car that isn't even produced outside of Japan, so Hasbro wouldn't think it even viable in the USA even if they could release it (which they can't at this point due to the licensing involved).

Hasbro specifically stated they have no plans for Alternity. In other words, at best they will be selecting a few of the molds… if any.
Alternity Skywarp and Starscream aren't designed with any market in mind other than Japan. Takara have made it quite clear in the past that they don't necessarily think about international markets.
Between that and what i've already said about their history of name reuses, if you don't like these toys, maybe it's because they weren't designed with you in mind.
IIRC, G1 Runabout and Runamuck were either never released as toys in Japan, or were only mail-ins. In other words, they're not well known in Japan.
Like i said, these toys were designed primarily with the Japanese market in mind.

BBTS's current pre-order price is $71.99. BBTS's pre-order price last year was $59.99. So $12… a 20% increase from the original price or the original price was 16.7% less than the current price.
I'd of course love to pay less for it. The increase certainly isn't nothing, but it's nothing like double/half. Are there people who would gladly pay $60 for a deluxe-size figure, but when it goes up another $12, then that is way too much?

I work in a multi-franchise car dealership (Nissan and Mitsubishi) and I have all three A-01 and A-02. I was hoping Starscream would get the EvoX treatment.
I didn't get any of the A-03 but was hoping to see them give it the white treatment (with some purple in bot mode).

I'm sure his crotch will be involved.

Wasn't Blaster about half the price the first time around? Or am I wrong about that? Sorry if it's been mentioned before, I'm too lazy to read the last 19 pages.
BB Shockwave
Quoted for truth. We need new Battlechargers we can use for the Universe line. (Let's face it, Cybertron Runabout is… ugly. Even moreso then the G1 toy).
BB Shockwave
With Lego Toy Story too, it seems Toy Story is getting back to the shelves – just in time for the 3. movie.
Good to see Blaster was not cancelled. Hopefully, a better priced KO version will be avaliable just like for Ravage (my KO Ravage only cost me 18$ and is of excellent quality).
Alternity seekers as cars – might be the stupidest idea ever…

I like Screamer & Skywarp good new style but… Where's Thundercracker!!

All over the new Alternity, and will probably go for Skywarp over Starscream. Roll on the toy pics
