In celebration of the 30 years of Transformers, two DVDs will be released this March to highlight two of the franchise’s most iconic: Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.
Staff edit:These DVD’s will be Australia released sets –
Please note that all DVDs available on this website are encoded for Region 4 only [Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Oceania, Central America, The Caribbean, Mexico and South America (except French Guiana)]. Please be aware that countries other than Australia may need a multi-region DVD player in order to play Region 4 DVDs.
Each DVD will feature the character from various cartoons they appeared in, including G1, the Unicron Trilogy, Animated, and Transformers Prime. The running time listed for each DVD is 88 minutes, you’ll likely be getting four episodes per character.
Here’s the descriptions we have so far.
Optimus Prime:
Take a look back at the leader of the Autobots and the defender of Earth in this special DVD release. Featuring episodes from Generation 1, Unicron, Animated, and Prime.
Bumblebee:
Everyone’s favourite Autobot shows what he can across three popular Transformers series. The plucky ‘Goldbug’ is in full voice as he takes on the evil Decepticons in Generation 1, Animated and Prime.
Check it out after the jump.
Starscream Gaga
Unless I'm mistaken though, Bumblebee would also have been a bit of a name slap, as he's intended to be more Rodimus then Bumblebee, no?
DOTM Bumblebee
These look interesting.
Timothy.R
still.. he's not bumblebee. it's a different character. whether they intended him to be bumblebee or not is irrelevant. it was hot shot.
i don't call movie frenzy "soundwave" because they intended frenzy to be representative of soundwave..
Bumblebee2000
May have to get these. I have all of G1 but it will get me some Unicron episodes, Prime if it's not from season 1 and Animated until I get the box set. I'd really like one for Starscream though.
Autovolt 127
Holy crap TFA gets representation.
It's a miracle….same with Armada.
Murasame
Could someone remove the apostrophe from the title? This thing is on the news page.
LegendAntihero
Cool. This is good for new fans who dont own all the cartoons on DVD
SpinalCord
Due to a technicality. He was suppose to be Bumblebee but the trademark wouldn't go through, so he got a nameslap… so technically Bumblebee would have never come back if Hasbro didn’t break their back to secure the name for the film.
IgnikaMarcus
Not really. He still ended up being Hot Shot and therefore does not count as Bumblebee.
SpinalCord
Uh, Unicron Trilogy (sort of), the movies, and Animated…
This.
T-Hybrid
"30 Years of Bumblebee" would be G1, and then literally NOTHING until TF rime.
Chopperface
Hell yeah for Animated! Maybe we can get some for other regulars like Ratchet, Megs, etc?
Wheeljackie
Just what everyone wanted
SpinalCord
I am so, so sick of the continual sucking off of these two…
Not completely accurate… Hot Shot was intended to be Bumblebee but couldn’t be named that due to trademark issues at the time:
And the only reason he was blue in Cybertron was because in the Japanese version of the show Galaxy Force, he was a completely different character from the first two shows

PLEASE NOTE – these are Australian release DVDs by an Australian company (Madman Entertainment), and are listed at AU$15, not US$15.
They will not be released in America.
QLRformer
Nice concept. Hope to see more such art, featuring Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Jetfire, Ironhide, Ratchet and other favourites.
FanimusMaximus
Oh hey, Hasbro actually remembers TFA.
rodimusconvoy
Cheetor, Sideburn and Hotshot are more related to the Hot Rod persona than BB.
Renidragon
Truth be told, Bumblebee pretty much disappeared after G1 ended until he came back in 2006 in the Classics line, and the 2007 Bay movie. Optimus has been around for that long, in one form or another (in name, at least), but Mr. Bee has been absent more than he's been present.
Unless he's been in comics! I have only recently started getting into the IDW comics, starting with Infiltration, and eventually getting the hardcover volumes 1 and 2, but I don't know if Bee has been around in the in-between years in any comics I don't know about. So that's my disclaimer.
Feralstorm
You could make a pretty fair size DVD with even a single episode from each series with an Optimus Prime on the cast.
