A profile page for Eric Rogers at the AOD 2013 site has listed a rather interesting title that Rogers is credited with writing; Transformers The Battle For Kreotron!
Eric Rogers is a television and film writer whose produced credits include Futurama, Tranformers: The Battle For Kreotron, Teen Titans Go!, Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil and NYPD Blue. He also writes for Matt Groening’s Bongo Comics Group, having scripted over 30 published stories for Futurama Comics, The Simpsons Comics, and Bart Simpson Comics. He is a 2011 Writers Guild of America nominee for Outstanding Animation Script for his work on Futurama, he once appeared on Rock & Roll Jeopardy, and his first paying job was playing the role of “Friedrich” in a dinner theater production of “The Sound Of Music”. Yes, that is all true.TV special? Video game? What is Kreotron?….

BW would have to start with Rhinox and go from there.
Does ANYONE, ANYONE at all have the damn Soundwave set image?
Honestly, if I could pitch Kre-O set ideas at Hasbro, I'd give them around 40 total.

I already said I couldve rephrased my statement better, but my inquiry was sincere. I didnt understand the fuss, when as you have shown, people can be more creative with their creations once theyre modded with more legos.. So is it so far fetched to believe at this point Lego has far more pieces to create far more accurate transformers? and if that's true then, wouldn't that make them superior?
echotransformer's creation btw, are fantastic.. Kreo should seriously considering getting him on board since his configurations actually look like transformers. If I saw that in person Id consider even buying one.
anyways. I was curious. Im not curious anymore. my question was answered, kinda.. aside from the heads, and them being official product I still don't get the fuss.Especially when people have been making Lego transformers far longer than Kreo has been around. And Ill leave it at that.
Enjoy your Kre-O

Retort makes sense when you say "terrible lego knock off" regardless of whether you like Legos or not. It reads as if you feel Lego is superior.
That's up to you whether you choose to recognize Kre-O as Transformers. The building sets may not be 100% faithful to the characters used but are they seriously THAT terrible? You can't give them an A for effort? If you feel these are cheap, I don't think you understand how hard it can be to do the blueprints for these… No one here's going to agree with you that they have no resemblance to Transformers. As for doing a Google search, guess how those fans made them? Creativity, something that you can surprisingly do with both Lego and Kre-O. You don't like how these look? Feel free to modify them yourself. On this board, fans put up their own creations and modifications all the time whether for accuracy reasons or anything else. Sometimes they surpass official releases, sometimes not.

Hey look, it transforms! Good enough for you or will you bash it for not looking like Optimus X?

Tried to go for accuracy but they don't transform… Guess you can't have it both ways but that is to some extent the nature of building toys until someone creates such a thing.
Very well. Heroes of Cybertron, Robot Heroes, Mighty Muggs, statues, busts all don't transform. Their merits lie in being able to portray characters in a certain or accurate way without kibble or distracting things that come with the ability to transform. As Hollywood Hoist said, Kre-O's merits lie in being building sets that you can customize. The Kreons also serve as mostly G1 figures for older fans. You have no idea how much fun kids have with these. All of the above are well-received and I'm sure there is hate but each product clearly survived for more than one run due to their strong points.
I know I'm coming off as a jerk here but really, how necessary was your comment to the discussion? You don't like them, gave reasons why, and bashed the product. Did you think you'd find someone who'd agree with you in a Kre-O thread? You know you didn't walk in purely curious about Kre-O's merits.

I was ,and I agree I could have used my words slightly better. It's just that these Kreos look nothing like the transformers they are based on. which is why I fee like they were knock offs. Do any google search and you can see some seriously amazing Lego Transformers. Where at first glance they look like the figures themselves. theres no way I could make that mistake with Kreo. Which is why I find them to be cheap, and was genuinely curious why everyone would go gaga over them.
Not really the best analogy you could have used because it makes no sense.
I was comparing a transformers line where the selling hook is you can transform them, against another transformers line where you can't
Optimist Prime
I never get this argument. None of my Batman figures actively fight crime, and none of my toys of Godzilla ever actually stomp all over Tokyo, but they're still worthwhile.
Hollywood Hoist
I guess to those who enjoy building toys they find it a draw. Lego has a similar building model with their creator series where it's 3 in 1. The point of building toys is to build not transform. I'm not being sensitive, but you're being critical of something that you're not interested in, it's one thing if you are into Lego and so the play pattern is of interest to you, but you're not. If you're genuinly looking for feedback on why Kre-o is interesting to people, then calling it terrible and a lego knock-off isn't the best way to go. For me the joy I get from Kreo is the building, and if there is a section of the robot that doesn't appeal to you, you can change it up. If you have other Kreo sets or Lego sets you can add to them. Hopefully that helps clarify why I and some others like the Kre-o line.
MindChamber
because I dont get it, and I wanted to know whats the draw of a transformer toy that doesnt look like a transformer and doesnt transform?
and why is it when someone doesnt find something so great, its crapping on others who do? is everyone so sensitive these days?
Hollywood Hoist
Then you're clearly not the intended audience for these. Why crap on things other people like when you have zero interest.
MindChamber
your sarcastic retort would've been effective is I actually liked legos.
Even if Lego made a transfromers brand, I still wouldnt bite. I guess you have to be a lego fan, but the idea of Lego transformers just doesnt seem appealing especially they dont Transform.
Maximal Dinobot
Anyone feel like going to the convention and going to his panel? Or should we just sit here for the coming announcement?
Man, you're right. These are automatically terrible whereas all the properties Lego themselves have are automatically not. Clearly, Kre-O has no resemblance to Transformers and they're just bad Legos. How dare Hasbro give us the G1 likenesses we need but not the ones we deserve.
Disclaimer: Kre-O's awesome and these are the toys we deserve.
Wasn't there a Soundwave set and a Hound Kreon shown at some convention? Vortex as a set was really random but I guess they made him for being a helicopter instead of another car? I'd love a G1 Shockwave set but his Kreon will tide me over for now. I just want them to expand into other shows. Disappointed at Beast Hunter Kre-Os but c'mon Beast Wars.
mirageandjazz11
and drill hamster…… we need a transformable one along with his kreon.
there must always be a hamster with a drill.
Feralstorm
I like them because they're a lego knock off with Transformers heads slapped on.
(and reasonably un-terrible.)
Optimist Prime
Considering how dull and uninspired the main line official fiction is at the moment (I'm not including the IDW comics, they're excellent), and how substandard the related toyline, "a terrible lego knock off with transformers heads slapped on" is actually a Hell of a lot of fun.
CelticMutt
Well, considering two of the main lines for TF Kreos are based directly on Prime …
MindChamber
I dont get it, why does everyone go gaga over the Kreo stuff? looks like a terrible lego knock off with transformers heads slapped on.
Superquad7
KREOTRON is very fascinating and intriguing to me. This is the first time in a long time I've been this excited about a new name. I hope Hasbro does a LOT of cool things with it. I'm really looking forward to see what the first iteration will be!
Autovolt 127
If it's like the Lego Star Wars. This will be fun.
bumblebeeprime2
NEEDS MORE INFO!!!!!!! kreotron!!!! sounds like a game to me1
Oracle_Aesir
Maybe Kreotron is a battle station (ala Autobot City) on Earth set up by Optimus which is manned by some characters in their Kreo style bodies in a special movie or something?
Sprocket
It could just be a 2-minute short like Kre-O Battleship had.
