Teaser Trailer for KRE-O STAR TREK Digital Short Produced by Bad Robot Also Unveiled in Anticipation of Premier Pop Culture Event in San Diego

Pawtucket, R.I. – July 6, 2012 - At Comic-Con, the KRE-O brand from Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) boldly goes where no one has gone before. Based on the upcoming STAR TREK sequel from Paramount Pictures and directed by J.J. Abrams, the KRE-O STAR TREK line, under license from CBS Consumer Products, features a variety of vehicles from the movie along with fun KREON figures based on iconic STAR TREK characters. Fans will be able to see the KRE-O STAR TREK U.S.S. ENTERPRISE set and KIRK, SPOCK and BONES KREON figures for the first time in person at the Hasbro Comic-Con booth (#3213) beginning on Preview Night, July 11.

In a groundbreaking move for entertainment based building sets, Hasbro teamed up with J.J. Abrams, director of the upcoming STAR TREK sequel, to create a KRE-O STAR TREK stop motion digital short. The digital short, produced by Bad Robot, features icons of the STAR TREK saga in a stand-alone storyline and will premiere at a later date in partnership with Paramount Pictures. At Comic-Con the teaser trailer for the KRE-O STAR TREK digital short will be featured along with the upcoming U.S.S. ENTERPRISE building set and KREON figures in the Hasbro booth. In anticipation of the convention, Hasbro is unveiling a first look image of the KRE-O STAR TREK U.S.S. ENTERPRISE set and the teaser trailer. Fans can view the teaser trailer now exclusively on the KRE-O brand Youtube channel at www.Youtube.com/KREO.

“Comic-Con International is the perfect place to give fans a sneak peek at upcoming KRE-O STAR TREK products and the teaser trailer for the KRE-O digital short produced by Bad Robot,” said Kimberly Boyd, global KRE-O brand director at Hasbro. “The KRE-O brand is enjoyed by consumers around the world and Hasbro is thrilled to work with the amazing teams at CBS Consumer Products, Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures to bring the STAR TREK property to life with KRE-O building sets.”

STAR TREK will mark the third major entertainment property to be featured in the KRE-O line from Hasbro. The Company successfully introduced the KRE-O brand in 2011 with building sets featuring its globally popular TRANSFORMERS characters and in 2012 introduced the KRE-O BATTLESHIP line. New KRE-O BATTLESHIP and KRE-O TRANSFORMERS sets will be on display in the Hasbro booth including never before seen KRE-O TRANSFORMERS expressions: KRE-O TRANSFORMERS MICROCHANGERS and KRE-O TRANSFORMERS MICROCHANGERS COMBINERS. Fans won’t want to miss these new figure reveals as well a chance to snap a photo with KRE-O character statues including TRANSFORMERS BUMBLEBEE, a BATTLESHIP ALIEN and STAR TREK CAPTAIN KIRK all in their unique KREON expressions! Dang, that Enterprise is the most enticing thing there...
Onslaught24
not bad, not bad.
Bumblebee765
Battleship Battle-Boat... Does "Sample pack" mean it'll also be released at retail, and the on at SDCC is just a "sample"?
BLOODRAGED189
Microchangers=actually transforming?
megatroptimus
Transformable Kre-O sets at last?
Not the guy
That Enterprise looks nice and not so bricky.

Agreed. If it does the "pop the top off to reveal command center thing" Ill bite at clearance time

I gotta say, i did not even give Kreo a 2nd look until I bought them all for pennys on clearance. Now They are pretty damn cool if you ask me.
Obsidian X
Cool Enterprise! If it was Lego that did Star Trek sets, I would have been all over that.
Autobot Burnout
KRE-O just gets better and better. That Enterprise is amazing, although I was unaware Hasbro had the license for Star Trek toys.

They don't. The license is with Paramount for building toys.
TacomaPrime
I want that enterprise!
Soundwinder
I'd get polybagged Kre-O Transformers.

The reason I hate Kre-Os is that they don't transform... unless you painstakingly take them apart and rebuild them. That's just a pain. But smaller figures would alleviate that, since build time would be MUCH smaller.
Snark
I love Kre-O, but that Enterprise doesn't look all that enticing to me. Hopefully, it'll have surprisingly robust play value, ala the Kre-O Battleship Missouri.
Rodimus Mike
On my solemn vow that Kre-O Star Trek Enterprise will be mine when its released even if its $80 it will, but I hope it'll be more like in the $40-$60 range, that thing is beyond words cool.
Arkvander
Dammit I was really hoping Lego would get the Star Trek license. I've wanted official Star Trek Legos for years now. Perhaps there is still hope for BTTF.
LCDR Blindside
Lego Star Trek?

Excuse me, my positronic net just fused.
Eric
Microchangers and Microchangers combiners?

Color me interested.
Phoenix_78
That Kreo Enterprise looks hideous....
Ultrawave
I'd be all over a Lego Enterprise.

...From Lego.

Honestly, the only not-lego I support is the Halo MegaBlocks line, because Halo is probably way too violent for Lego to even consider making.
Ikkstakk
Well, I'm excited for the Kre-O Enterprise and the "variety of vehicles from the movie," but this seems like a golden opportunity to bring Kre-O into the role-play arena. In other words, where are my Kre-O phaser, communicator and tricorder??
moreprimeland
Hmmm..Combiners...will have to wait and see which ones. I've enjoyed my Kre-O sets I have so far.
Max Rawhide
Not really interested in Kre-O's. Haven't seen a single one that I wanted to buy.

Nevertheless, when I saw the Enterprise I had to take a second look. And just as before any interest I might have had quickly evaporated.

I think I made better versions when I was a kid with my Lego's. Way too simplistic and the proportions also seem off.

Would've rather seen Lego get the Star Trek license. Their Star Wars verhicles are amazing. If SW Lego had been around in the 80's...I wouldn've have bought a single SW action figure/vehicle. It would all be Lego.
Autovolt 127
Meh. I'l stay away from Kre-O.

It's better than BTR for sure but i still don't like Hasbro's take on Lego and Mega Blocks.

This so much. I love Lego's designs more than anything. They really know how to take source material, recreate it in their own Lego style and yet still do it extreme justice.

I have to give Megabloks some credit in that department too, while I don't usually like lego rips, they seem to be doing justice to many of the Halo designs and such. The only thing off about them usually is the oddly molded piece that is important to the set.

The Battleship Battle Boat bags are available at my local Toys R Us. I think $5-6 each.

The SDCC ones might have some exclusive packaging or something like that.
Exodus
Can't wait to see the new Primes.

On that new press release that was linked to this forum post (?). Here's the interesting part:

Quote:
Action figures based on the CYBERTRONIAN style of the video game (and featured in the brand's GENERATIONS line) will be on display in the Hasbro booth.
The way that's worded makes me think there are definitely non-FoC toys planned for the new Generations line.

Hold the phone, isn't it supposed to be on a mid-season break!?
Stygian360
Good God, the SDCC teases just won't quite! Not that I'm complaining (much) mind you. I just feel completely and utterly ready to be at the show and not at work this week, so these teases are making me wet my pants with anticipation!

If I had to guess I'd say this is someone at Hasbro Marketing's misinterpretation of actual events. Obviously for anyone currently watching the show it's merely on a mid-season break and isn't finished by a long shot. There's still roughly 10-12 episodes left to go!

I got suckered into thinking there would be new Prime figures prior to TF this year and there wasn't, so I refuse to get my hopes up pre-SDCC. Although if any show is going to give a nice sneak peek it would SDCC. Not sure why but this show is almost more important than TF anymore.

Hopefully so. I know there are meant to be about a dozen episodes left, but with the lack of any news on when the season's gonna get up & running again, it kinda got me wondering...

SDCC does seem to throw out a few li'l trinkets nowadays, so they might well have some of the upcoming voyagers on display, since Takara have already revealed the likes of Magnus and co.

Personally I'm hoping for an announcement re- a toy version of FOC Grimlock. Although I'm a tad worried his scale will be perfunctory in line with the other Deluxe's, but Hasbro has shown considerable foresight by making Soundwave a Voyager w/his minions, so perhaps they'll go the same route (prays heavenward) with Grimlock- if he's announced that is.

It could mean they wrapped up work on creating the episodes. They are all ready to be aired.

I thought the same thing, but the members explanations (marketing error, or referrence to work of actual "completion" not airing of Season 2) makes more sense. 15 episodes of season two have aired, 11 are left. Hoepfully during the events of SDCC we will find out when exactly during the fall these 11 episodes will air.
Autovolt 127
Guys they made mistakes in press releases before, like James Remar in Transformers: Prime when they obviously meant James Horan.

and by brake it's mid season finale.
highlander3000
This sounds more exciting than BotCon actually. I'm sorry I'm going to miss it this year.

"Hasbro also "rolled out" an extensive line of action figures based on the series and fans will be able to see the full 2012 lineup of TRANSFORMERS PRIME figures in both robot and vehicle mode in an extensive booth presentation including an intricate TRANSFORMERS PRIME diorama featuring space bridges, VEHICONS and more!"

Hello All!

I emphasized "VEHICONS" because it is likely that those that go to the SDCC will be the select ones to actually see a Vehicon! Be nice to find one to buy!

Galvatro.

[Cue Grimlock voice]Fans want Dinobots, Dinobots respond.

The FOC Dinobot designs are very nice indeed. All 5 may be a push but Grimlock and Swoop would be very nice to get for some ground and aerial balance.

Other new figures may include some of the delayed repaints/remolds such as: Reflector, Ratbat and so on.

Is there two Botcons per year? There already was a Botcon.
