Kre-O Microchangers Wave 1 Identification Guide

For those following our feed you'll see we just reported that the second assortment of Kre-O Microchangers (confusingly officially known as wave 1) has just been released in Singapore. These are blind-bagged so you'll need a bit of luck getting them all. Or you can use this handy identification guide provided to us by Griffin-of-oz and 0JazzMeister0.

On the back of each blind-bagged Kreon there is a red bar at the top of the packaging (12 to collect in the top-left, "2 in 1" graphic at top-right). Printed in the top right, between the peg-hole and "2 in 1" graphic is a number. That number matches up to the Kreon in the bag - check out the list below to see which one is which:

22981 40 - Singe (Turbomaster Scorch)
22981 41 - Inferno
22981 42 - Autobot Springer
22981 43 - Warpath
22981 44 - Quickslinger (Slingshot)
22981 45 - Rampage
22981 46 - Insecticon
22981 47 - Blast Off
22981 48 - Decepticon Hook
22981 49 - Dirge
22981 50 - Airachnid
22981 51 - Decepticon Bludgeon

Like the first assortment, it is the last two numbers that are the important part. By using this, you can identify all the Kreons in the assortment and add them all to your collection without acquiring too many doubles.

Also, check out Griffin's post over on Ozformers for some in-hand pictures of this assortment of Kre-O Microchangers.

Friend and I spotted some of the new Kreons in a local TRU in Singapore.

The codes this time around are not printed on the front of the blind bags, but on the back along the red bar, on the top right hand corner. We managed to find 11 out of 12 and the codes are as follows:

22981 40 Singe
22981 41 Inferno
22981 42 Springer
22981 43 Warpath
22981 44 Quickslinger
22981 45 Rampage
22981 46 Insecticon
22981 47 Blast Off
22981 48 Hook
22981 49 Dirge
22981 50 Airachnid

Bludgeon is the 12th figure and given the first 5 codes are all Autobots, we can assume Bludgeon's number is possibly 51.

Happy hunting, all!

Can't wait for these to hit the U.S.!

What are those bricks printed with Kre-O? Are they part of the Micro-Changers now, similar to the LEGO Figure stands? They look fairly standard, but also kind of neat.

I can't wait for these to hit Canada, I am going to have so much fun collecting more Kreons. What's the quality like? Are they full of stressed out wrists like the Preview Wave or is Hasbro finally knuckling down on this issue? And are there any parts that can easily break on any of them?

*SIGH* I wish Bludgeon had a new helmet piece though, using the Megatron helmet for him seems to be the wrong way to go, it isn't very Samurai esque.
ORIO
Curious about the stands and quality as well.

Thanks so much for the codes! Copied and saved into my phone for convenience

All the new Microchangers come with the KreO brick now, yup. And they're pretty neat.

The quality feels a lot better. Friend and I both agree they feel more solid and the kibble fits better to the main body. The wrists still have some of the stress marks but they don't look as bad as the first wave. A lot of unique faces (Dirge, Airachnid, Slingshot) this time round too.

Looks like the package art is cheating. It shows a lot of the figures with chest decos and back-kibble, but the photos of the actual toys have the "torso-sleeves" that cover up the chest deco.

That's nothing new, the Preview Wave did the exact same thing.

Shot of the 5 Autobots from this wave. The torso sleeve is optional, but needed for those who have back kibble like Springer, Warpath, Airachnid to name a few. For some, you can leave it off if you don't want to attach the non-essential kibble.

Just FYI, Slingshot shares the Ratchet helm that tends to cover the eyes. An easy fix is to just drop a TINY piece of tissue/paper towel into the helm and then attach it to the head. Surprisingly it does stop the helm from lowering all the way.
Heat Guy
Still not even a preview wave near me, might have to venture online for these guys.
Bossguy
I like blast off a lot, but rampage looks ugly. they could at least not print anything on their bodies and print it on the torso sleeve. Well, I guess I'm not a toy expert!
griffin-of-oz
Only real flaws I found this time - my Quicksilver/Slingshot's helmet covers up the eyes, and some have stress marks on the wrists... but other than that, these have improved their quality over the Wave 0 (Preview) set and build-set Kreons.

The black display bricks that they stand on is a welcome addition (in each pack), as it allows you to pose them now without falling over. (and makes them more respectable - offsetting the mostly lame alt-modes)

A tip - get to the boxes first, because if general public (non-fans) are grabbing one or two from the front as a random purchase, it will be harder to find the ones that are always packed at the front (the boxes seem to be filled in order, so the same figure is grouped together in the same locations of the box - like with the Preview Wave)... I checked 3 boxes at the Forum TRU on Orchard Rd, and only one Bludgeon was left, sitting discarded on top of a nearby Preview Wave box.

Thank you to the OP for the codes! Saved them on my phone for reference when I'm out hunting. Now to wait for the microchangers to hit stores in my area.

Drop a tiny piece of tissue flat into Slingshot's helmet. I used the McD napkin. It solved the problem pretty nicely.

That's odd about TRU Forum. I was there tonight and they didn't have a single Bludgeon. Neither Forum nor Paragon.
GeekVariety
I've yet to see any of these in the US. Anyone see these showing up at retail anywhere?
Lucs
thanks for the codes.

Now that I see this wave again Im pretty excited that beween an extra Inferno and Warpath we can get Ironhide instead of having to buy the $70 devastator set to get him
Onslaught24

That's a really good idea. I never even thought of doing that but will now
ahchu
Oh me like! Great to see brick stands being included. Now I won't need to buy LEGO stands on ebay.
Dinodigger97
So...Singe is a Scorch homage. Cool.

Anywhom, I love the looks of these guys. Sad, I have a lot of cutting to do.
Grimlock64
Oh man, I loved the first wave, and I can't wait for these to come out in the States!
B'Bantor
^^^ same here
Bountyan
The stands are good additions. I'll probably buy a few extra sets to get stands for my other kreons.
SPLIT LIP
I'll probably grab Blast-Off and Springer.
Noideaforaname
Awesome improvements:
+ Colorful chest decals
+ New parts, including helmets
+ Stands
+ A 'vest'-type piece that doesn't cover the front (Blast Off)

Can't wait to get them!
Still don't care much for the alternate modes.

EDIT: Aww, Scorch/Singe's flame decals are printed on the gray torso block. They'd have looked so much better on yellow.
TheMindZombie
Oh man I gotta get these!
JetfireSKWKs
Blast Off, Quickslinger, Dirge are at the top of my list to get when these bad boys come out. I also want to get the rest as well. lol
charsdc2
I hope that these guys don't stress like my Spinister & Scorpionak!
Mizzinno
Huh, looks like you can give Inferno two hands. Nice

Where on the package are these numbers?
I remember with the preview pack. I looked at ever number on the package and nothing matched up with the last codes.

They're on the top-back of the package. If you look closely at the second picture in the first post you can kind of make out where the numbers are.

I'm excited for these, not sure how many I want but I know it's at least a good majority.

For the preview wave, I bought doubles so I could chop off the front flap that covered the chest. That way, I can see the decos as well as keep the back-kibble on.
screamybutt
Totally going to get Rampage and the Insection. I love these little guys.

unlike the last time where the codes were on the bottom of the package, these are on the top back

I was able to use the last codes without issue
joebot.
Thank you for the codes. I bought two of the first wave and ended up with two scorpinoks because I forgot that they had codes.
puma
Any case counts of who comes in what quantity yet?
Shark Jumper
It appears to be random assortment. My Target had way more Slingshot and Airrachnid than needed.

grandizerGo
Found a couple today..these rock
Nightwind
Found these at my local Target this morning. Managed to pick up 7 from the set. Can't wait until these start showing up more in my are to complete the set.
bumblebeeprime2
do you guys have the DPCI? and the price?
Driftx3
I found a fresh case of these (I got to open it) at my local Target, and the only ones in the case were 43, 48, 49, and 50. This seemed strange to me as I assumed they would all be in the same case (like the entire assortment).

Has this happened to anyone else?
Maximal Dinobot
That makes things even worse... I'm having enough trouble finding them but even when I do, I keep finding the same guys. I think someone's mentioned that a case wouldn't have a full set but for there to only be six each of four different ones is pretty bad.
soundwavempl
My local TRU put out a full case yesterday and I luckily was the first one to it. I was able to get a full set of 12 and there seemed to be multiples of each figure in the case.
Maximo Prime
Got numbers 41-47. Rampage, blast off, insecticon, warpath, springer, quickslinger and inferno.

Lots of fun, but a few have things that don't get into the robot build. I just stick em on the Kreo stand.

Alt mode...
Inferno while cute, is the worst. Still not bad, but someone had to be last..

Slingshot isn't bad. Suffers from "go find a place to stash the helmet in the meantime". Otherwise he's cool.

Springer is very nice. Took a silver Sharpie to his helmet for window action.

Warpath straight up rocks!!

insecticon rocks, but you have to remove his helmet AND head for alt mode. kinda fitting, being he's a bug.

rampage is pretty cool, but he clearly has a beast head made for tantrum or headstrong. Oddly enough, he has a tiger head printed on his torso that is covered by the "tunic" most of these things come with.

Blastoff has a superb alt mode. One of the best ones yet. Can't wait to get bruticus and slap him in somewhere.
