Kre-O Beast Blade Optimus Prime with Laserback Official Image

The official Transformers Facebook page is kicking off 2013 with a month of product photos building anticipation for this year's new installment of the Transformers Prime mythos, Beast Hunters. Today's installment is the first look at the official product photography for the Kre-O Beast Hunters Beast Blade Optimus Prime set, which comes with an Optimus Prime who can be assembled in robot or truck mode, Lazerback, and Kreons of Optimus Prime and the human Energon Kicker - a homage to the Transformers Energon character, Kicker.

We'll pass on word of further exciting new product reveals from the official Transformers Facebook page, so keep it TFW for all the latest news.

The Optimus looks neat to me, and I noticed that like the Voyager figure this one also only has one hand. It sure seems like Optimus is coming back with a gun arm.

EDIT: NO wait, I took another look. What I thought was a gun-arm looks more like he's holding a sword. Never mind!

Nice, a month of new reveals eh? Sure to be a few repeats of stuff we've already seen in there, but I bet this is where we'll see Ripclaw officially and probably the other Wave 2s (betting on another spikey Autobot, myself)

I wasn't really a fan of integrating Beast Hunters into Kre-O... especially when Beast Hunters are the only sets known to be coming out (for now anyway). Pretty sure I won't get this Optimus. Hoping the Optimus Kreon's mouthplate is actually silver and this picture is a mistake like the Wheeljack Kreon on the back of Street Showdown's box. The beast thing's eyes look so goofy.

Still looking forward to the wave 1 Microchangers I haven't found and the Microchanger Combiners though.

I'm a little disappointed with Laserback. I mean, his eyes look goofy, and he doesn't seem to have a robot mode (but if there are enough pieces to reconfigure it into a fan-made robot mode, I'll forgive it).

Optimus, on the other hand, looks awesome! And at least the human Kreons will be based off of existing human characters (somewhat). So who's next? Sparkplug? Blackrock? Sari? ... Rad (blech)?

Yeah I agree, this OP is the best Kre-o OP at this price point. I'm liking that they are getting better, but I'll probably pass.

Im starting to think there are only so many Optimus Prime Kreos that I really need. I think I may tone down my Kreo collecting and just go for the singles, and the combiners for a while.

That robot mode for prime really does remind me of the 2 pack version with him and megatron but the vehicle mode is compley new design! anyone know how much he will be?

Optimus looks pretty darn good, buying for that alone...the others....meh. Just will use Laserback to smash Kicker.

This doesn't look that great to me. Wasn't that dragon supposed to be Ripclaw? Anyway, it looks weird and ugly, and Optimus looks almost exactly like every other Optimus Kre-O has, except for altmode of course.

But I'm looking forward to Hasbro showing off 31 new toys.
