Wonder Festival 2012 Transformers Wrap-Up

Over the weekend, Wonder Festival 2012 was happening in Japan, with displays from CMs Corps, Kaiyodo, and Takara in full swing, as well as some interesting unofficial kits (which were on sale.) Takara's own display, while limited, gives a good look at some upcoming Arms Micron gashapon releases.

Aside from the Exo-Suit Spike and Daniel that we reported a few days ago, the recently released Gutto Kuru Minerva (as well as the special color version on sale at the show) CMs Corps also had the upcoming Gutto Kuru Ginrai on display, alongside a special colored body with the Hi-Q head attached.

On the Kaiyodo side of things, we turn to the Revoltech display booth, where they had not only the recently released Revoltech Movie Bumblebee on display, but the upcoming Jetwing Optimus Prime (which will retail for 4800 yen.)

But that is not all! One of the highlights of each Wonder Festival event is the wide variety of fan-made garage kits and merchandise, such as a Metroplex kit (that went for 15,000 Yen, approximately 191.82 US Dollars with the current exchange rate) and a super-deformed transforming Fortress Maximus!

Special thanks to Wondanon on Twitter for providing us with pictures of Ginrai, Hi-Q and the Metroplex kit.

I'm sorry. I kinda chuckled at the name 'nippa'.

What the hell is that super-deformed thing?!

It's a Super Deformed Fortress Maximus.
Megabattimus
That SD Fortress Maximus looks pretty cool. I might need to pick that up at some point.

Looking at the silhouettes in the CM's picture, I think the one on the left is Spick Witwicky from G1 S3 and the one on the right is Daniel Witwicky. I have no idea who the robot is, but he looks pretty cool.

EDIT: God, I'm such an idiot. That isn't a robot in the CM's pic, it's the Transforming Mech suit that Spike and Daniel used in TFTM and S3 of G1.

What's up with that Hi-Q in a body that looks like it's made from the leftover colors of Nightbeat ver. Minerva? Weird.

As for Spike/Daniel, that's neat, but not up my alley the same way Minerva and Ginrai are. The Exo-Suit will be the decider though. It could be very, very cool.
adambman
Cool, mistranslation or not, Excel Suit was the term used for that piece of equipment in Japanese G1 Headmasters.

More Wonfes pics from TAABOU'S TOYBOX.

That Fort Max reminds me of the troll in Stephen King's Cat's Eye.
PrimusVsUnicron
nippa? I'm think of this now Nipah collection - YouTube
cryotek
I want that Fort Max.
Crystal Convoy
It's cool to see CM's making more TF stuff, but I have no interest in them.
REMINATOR
Whooo, that SD FMax is beautiful! Must own.

Speaking of SD, what happen to SD UMagnus, I haven't seen it on Ebay or anywhere to purchase one?
TCJJ
Spike and Daniel in Exo-Suits from CM's Corp? Man, I'm gonna be broke all over again.

Also, wholy crap, a Postman Pat Transformer. If he turned into the classic style van from the original show, I'd be all over that thing.
mellowmut
Those SD toys are model kits right? Exclusive only to the show right? Cant order anywhere else? Been wanting to grab a few of the others but dont even know how.
sh002
daniel and spike exosuits interesting
PrimusVsUnicron
will they have head modes?
RedAlert Rescue
I guess it's a distortion of Accelerator Suit - which isn't a bad name for something with a vehicle mode really.

Rather that Exo-Suit (as in External Suit [Of armour])
It's another example of Third parties having the same ideas though as there's already existing toys of this kind.

[Very Expensive and very small ones]

That's Muzzle.

Off-topic (Transformerwise, anyways) but in one of the shots I've seen online elsewhere it looks like the CMS Motoko is in the display next to the CMS Minervas, but it's not a clear shot and I've yet to see any additional pics focusing directly on it.

Anyways, cool shots. Looking forward to the next batch of Gashapon microns, and the Revoltech Jetwing Optimus looks badass.
Star Saber
Metroplex looking nice, how big is that thing?
eriku
That SD Fort Max will be mine. Especially since it looks like it transforms!
Biotoakid
How much will the Metroplex run us? It looks seriously awesome

I can't deal with magnus right now! I need to know what's behind him! lol
anyway that metroplex is amazing and those microns are kinda neat. but the sd fort max scares me a bit...
Ricochet
Correction - that Exo-suit will be released under "BRAVE Goukin" line, not "Gutto Kuru Figure Collection" line. BRAVE Goukin is mainly deals robots in contrast with Gutto Kuru deals human characters.
spursfan88
Anyone know if the CM Corp Minerva is available for order/preorder other than on BBTS?
Stepper
SD Fortress Maximus sure looks very cute.
