Transformers United EX Story Chapter 8 Ocean Encounter Translated

Our fellow fans at The Allspark have posted a translation of the eighth chapter of the Transformers United EX story. Story chapter 8, Ocean Encounter, comes on the back of the Tankmaster VS Marinemaster box and returns the action to Grimmaster's battle where evidently he managed to triumph over the near-immortal Roadmaster. Tankmaster's arrival turns the tide of battle, and only the arrival of Marinemaster is able to save Grimmaster. The overall plot progresses as well with the beginnings of the High Regent's plot coming together, and the reveal that some within the Decepticons - like Tankmaster - do not follow him.

This chapter clears up the identity of Marinemaster, who as his design suggests, is the Generation 2 Autobot Manta Ray. Tankmaster is a bit harder to divine from the story chapter - the Allspark has it on good authority though that he is a new incarnation of Simon Furman's character Grindcore, from the IDW Revelations miniseries.

So Mainemaster is a another G2 guy,and Tankmaster is One of IDW Straxus' Buddies.

I've complained in at least a few posts that the Undertow mold should have been recolored as Manta Ray. Getting confirmation that Marine Master is the same character, even in different colors.... well, it's not ideal, but it's good enough for me. Pre-ordered. I'm just a sucker for G2 Classics additions.

Takara doesn't give any thought to who the character could be when producing the color scheme. They leave that to Hydra.

Tankmaster as Grindcore? Doesn't seem to work for me. I was expecting Marinemaster to be Manta Ray. I must buy this!

also we officially have Manta Ray done from the Undertow mold. but no do it in the correct colours.

Considering the Allspark has very close ties to Hydra (aka, the dude who wrote the fiction to begin with) I think it'd be very wise to take them for their word on who is who.

Yeah Andrew Hall / Hydra said specifically that Grindcore was Tankmaster.

Nice! I'm enjoying the fiction Takara's added to th PCC's. It almost makes me want to buy these horribly overpriced toys. Granted, I do like this set's colors, especially Tankmaster's.

Aqua Baron, Drill Baron, Sky Baron, Road Baron, Guard Fire, Guard Rescue, Guard Wing...

...It probably sounds a lot cooler if you speak only Japanese....
