Japanese Hobby magazine Dengeki Hobby has some new images of the forthcoming Ultimetal Optimus Prime figure. This fully licensed piece by Action Toys is a huge, non-transforming Generation 1 Optimus Prime, with Matrix, moving faceplate, and removable armor to show the inner workings of Optimus Prime's body. It's expected to retail for 78,000 yen, due out next year. The magazine scans come to you via ToysDaily.

But that's not all - some very sharp, hi-res new images of the figure have also been posted on Artstorm's website. These sharp new images show off Ultimetal Optimus Prime in all his glory - be sure to check them out!

Wow, that looks gorgeous! Shame it doesn't transform! It's a testament to Takara engineering that the MP practically looks like that and still transforms!

What's the scale of that thing anyway? Not familiar with the Roadbuster sizing.

It's 5.2 inches tall. So it's Deluxe-Sized and it doesn't transform either.
Roadbuster - EM Gokin Action Figure - Transformers 2010 - 2013 Transformers Import Figures

A company called Art Storm is making it..

Wow, that Optimus Prime is pretty huge then - more than a foot tall by my estimates!
opt1musaber
I was just about to criticize harshly when I see that it's remote controlled. That's pretty cool, cause if it wasn't remote controlled, I'd say that this is a shitter version of MP-01/04.
Sup3hobo
44cm? That's 17.33 inches! And it's made by action toys? They're the same guys who prototype the figures for fewture's high end ex-gokin line. This thing is going to be beyond $500 for sure anything less and I'd be surprised. Which reminds me, I need an MP-10.
Soundwave2
That might actually be the best looking G1 Prime "figure" I've personally have seen and with it being roughly 17" tall, it'd be perfect to keep with my Premium Format figures

Here is a pic from the front:

The thing looks like the best possible combination of MP-01 and MP-10.

Being Art Storm it will be pricy but awesome.

Except for the transformation part and the trailer
TCJJ
It's neat, but I'm not paying for a giant non-transforming Transformer.
Jonny Napalm
That is gorgeous, and the features it packs sound really fun.

However, it just makes me appreciate even more what has been achieved with MP10.
Acteon
I actually think MP10 looks better. It's lovely to see a huge die-cast Prime of course, but for all intents and purposes it just strikes me as largely redundant.
deaculpa
^that.
Although I would buy an mp10-scaled actionmaster G1 Megs. Hi transformations are ridiculous.
Underwear
It's not redundant actually.

This is more for the high end collectors who collects such Gokin stuff like Fewture.

Well if you want die-cast there's always the 'ol MP-1 Convoy...lol
bradforj
Who would want a non-transforming Transformer? It's just an Actionmaster on roids.
Turnman
Another pic, you can see promo pics of the half naked Prime (like the Chogokin DX Mazinger).

chen
That looks sweet but considering Fewture's Gokin line where figures can range from $350-$600 just judging by the size this won't be cheap at all. Still it's very reminiscent of Bandai's DX Mazinger in concept. I'm fine with it not-transforming, I honestly transform my figures once or twice and that's it. The price is a gonna be on the high side but if your used to collecting SOC's, Brave Gokins, or any other high-end diecast Japanese toys it's nothing new.
Turnman
If they also did G1 Megatron with that aesthetic I would get both in an instant. Megs would finally have the kick ass imposing representation it deserves. I really don’t care for him transforming into a gun and I have enough Primes that can turn into trucks.

Really hope this one sells out and they consider Megs.
supervir2
Sign me up! Agree with those asking for Megatron and very much agree with those saying how this actually makes the MP's that much more impressive.
entourage7
Nice version of Optimus....... That reminds me, happy 72nd birthday Optimus Prime or should I say Peter Cullen.

me! i want this!
Iron Will
Definitely getting this! Perfect scale to go with my 3.75 figures!! And Megatron would be awesome in this format also!
robvega214
I liiiike it, but for $300+ thats way outta my range..especially since its just a big action figure that doesnt transform.
Can i say that i'll just wait for a plastic knockoff version? =)
dkr7
I want Starscream and him alone. Such a nice piece tho

This would be EPIC!!!!

I would buy that in a nano second!!!
Enigma2K2
I'd rather have a Masterpiece Prime...
Sentinel
This looks great and depending on price I may get it, but as others ^ have said, I'd love to see Megs get some love for a change. I'd definitely buy a matching set of Prime and Megs.

The remote control idea is awesome, I've wondered why more collectible toys don't have this feature. I want this so bad right now, but price will probably prevent me from getting it. Does anyone know if "Action Toys" are sold anywhere in the U.S.....maybe even a website like BigBadToystore?

The answer would be yes, if the preorder for the ES Gokin Roadbuster (on BBTS) is an indication since Action Toys & Art Storm are collaborative partners.

Thanks, I'll have to keep any eye out for it then. I really hope they can keep the price affordable, but looking at the price on that Gokin, Optimus could definitely be quite high.
Anti Spark
Does anyone know where I can find pictures of the getter robots to the right of optimus?

Hello collectors. Look to that thing. Now back to me. Now back to that thing. Now back to me. Sadly, he isn't me. That's because I am MP10 and I look like I walked just out of the cartoon you love AND I CAN TRANSFORM. Look down, look back up. Where are you? You're in your living room opening my chest. What's in your hand? Back at me. I have it. It's my Matrix. I'm on my trailer

Getter Poseidon is beyond awesome.
Soundwave2
That looks so awesome, I've really always wanted a huge G1 Prime statue and this is perfect.
Bnz Toy
This is great, but just want to say that Hasb MP10 almost looks this good, which is a real feat in TF engineering.
MegaDolrailer
Wish they picked a different aesthetic, he just looks like a slightly different MP-10... why not pick Obari Prime or something? he wouldn't be able to transform anyway

I like the lack of wheels for cartoon accuracy though, that's just cool
TallOne
All my TFs stay in robot mode anyway so, HELL YEAH I'm getting this for sure. CHO GO KEN GOKIN!
Ktulu
Pretty neat. I've always been into Transformers more for the robot modes anyway and Optimus of course is a super iconic design, so I wouldn't mind owning something like this at all.
MisterGuyMan
This is all levels of awesome... really amazing looking.
daddytron
Looks nice but not personally interested in Transformers that don't transform, with the exception of populating Metroplex with those little guys they had at SDCC.
puma
this is incredible. i want this now. I just need to find room for it somewhere. ugh.
gawddammit
I'd buy a Sideswipe like that.

I saw those at a local show on Saturday. They were actually shockingly big. I was expecting something the size of a Heroes of Cybertron PVC figure, give or take, but they were a lot larger. Around the size of a scout, give or take. And the lack of detailing made them look really bad, at least to me.
FoC Grimlock
I'd only get this if I saw a plan for the rest of their releases. I only care about Transformers bot modes so I have interest in this but only if they're going to get to the characters I like.

This figure is based on MP10. No doubt about it. I like all the details they added.
