Transformers Prime Arms Micron Terrorcon Bumblebee

Posted on 07-24-2012 at 05:15 AM by Sol Fury under Japanese Transformers
Terrorcon-Bumblebee
In addition to the Hell Flame Arms Microns, Takara-Tomy have also updated their website to add details of the Japanese exclusive Terrorcon Bumblebee. This dark colored version of Bumblebee comes with a clear purple version of Soundwave's Arms Micron Zori, and is perhaps the closest thing we'll see at retail to the generic design of the Terrorcons from Darkness Rising.

Read on to check out the official image. Terrorcon Bumblebee is due to be released on 10 August 2012.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: I think that mold looks good in every color scheme except the one it was designed for
orangeitis
It's no Murderbee.
guard convoy
oh wow, i know the retail one won't look that good but man that looks good
IceMagnus
Looks legit!
Maverick Hunter Christian
Can anybody translate? This a retail release? Or are there multiple hoops to jump through?
Blitz.
I just dont get why they dont use the FE design for the speical editions given just how meh the regular edition is
TCracker
Nice! I am a sucker for translucent purple parts.
Steroid Prime
so how do you obtain this guy? cant translate
adambman
Perhaps he looks more like a fly now than the Bee he's based upon. Nevertheless the tried and true black repaint serves this mold well, though many may find the opposite isn't true lol. I'll ask SydneyY to translate if he doesn't find this soon enough.
Karhukjnsi
Just in time for Halloween!
Maniac23
gah, easy pass due to it being the revealer mold. Would have been an instant buy as the FE.
Harbinger
that does look pretty cool, but not sure if i will get it yet.

The Revealer mold's actually pretty nice! I'm finding myself liking it overall MORE than the FE. It only doesn't work as show-version Bumblebee, but that's because we've got the FE to compare it to, and I'm thinking that it's not worth having ONE odd one out at this point.
Argus
Whats up with all the revealer hate anyway? Make sure the chest locks down and it looks spot on for toon accuracy. At least the shoulders are angled correctly unlike the FE...
soymonk
Oh man. Translucent purple? I need that Micron!
Thundershot
Is this an exclusive? I was hoping it'd be part of the main line...

Aeon store chain exclusive unfortunately.
Stepper
Terrorcon Bumblebee look much much better than Terrorcon Cliffjumper

This is true. All the repaints and the custom paint jobs all look great, while the original is easy to pass on. This one looks great but probably not a line I will get into, especially considering the rising prices.
SPLIT LIP
I doubt it with be that glossy. As such, it's really not that appealing to me. Plus it's an exclusive and a boring deco in robit mode.
StayingInTheBox
God damn it this figure will be mine!
[Wing_Saber-X]
August release, eh?! So bought!

Starfire22
I actually want this.

I wonder when preorders for this thing will go up. I'm glad to know the release date.

That aside, I really wish Takara hadn't started using photoshop like Hasbro does. Making releases appear glossy or metallic when they are not is something I had hoped they would not adopt, but it's happened multiple times now with the Prime AM line (be it full figures like Knock Out or the microns in particular).
Soundwinder
Am I crazy or does the Minicon... not look translucent?

From the thumbnail I thought it was, but when I clicked I realized it didn't. Then the first post said it was...
hordeall
it looks good but will be all stickers like the regular am bumblebee

The pics from one Japanese convention (Tokyo Toy Show? World Hobby Fair? I forget) did show a translucent purple Zori micron.

It could be Takara's photoshop-happy product images that make this thing appear to be a shiny purple rather than translucent purple. Until we get in-hand images indicating otherwise, I'm still operating under the idea that the micron is being made in clear purple plastic.

The neck looks awful and the shoulders are... wonky. Angled correctly? Maybe. But it means they don't turn smoothly and are at an awkward angle for posing.

I love my Hot Shot, I do. But at the same time, Bumblebee just looks awful. He does.
PcPrime23
Might as well just call this Micron Shattered Glass Bumblebee
Prowl4680
I guess they found something to do with some of the unsold molds of this craptastic figure to try and make him appealing.

yeah totally feel that Takaratomy is starting to be slightly more greedy and dishonest of late.... :

The more prevalent photoshopping of their own stuff isn't a development I'm happy about either. Though I'm still happy with the microns released so far, I would've loved it if they were metallic in color like Takara's own photoshopped pics made them appear to be.
soull
I've been avoiding the Prime line so far but I may have to pick this guy up. He's snazzy.
Autovolt 127
Now if these Terrorcon Bumblebees were on the shelves and not the yellow version. They'd sell out way faster.

LOL so true. What I find funnier is all the Radicon repaints/retools that make the figure look so much better...

Take deliciouspeter's Prime http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radico...commander.html

Barricade!
SydneyY
deliciouspeter's custom characters are always fantastic. (*looks at own sig)

Yep it's stated in the product page that this Micron is made of clear plastic His name is Terrorcon Zori, and his Dark Energon is the reason our good old Bumblebee turned into a Terrorcon.
dardmc
are they really making the terrorcon/dark energon theme into an shattered glass theme for the transformers prime series? maximizing the molds again?

I never looked at it that way before but I'd REALLY like that. Like the "Dark Energon" BBTS Exclusive line.

Cool, good to now. A clear purple Zori is my main attraction to this release.

I think Terrorcon Bumblebee is more of a oneoff release.
SydneyY
I just appreciate TakTom seems to be coming up with more interesting ways than plain "black version"

HERE HERE!

And while i know that the colors aren't exact, I think that he may work well as a Prime series Bug Bite.
xanthax
I kind of like this. ._.
Shatterpoint
Dat shiny black plastic.
MasterxBlaster
Damn I love the Deco!! This will be purchased!! He will go well with my Black Repaints display! I think I found SCOURGE an APPRENTICE haha!
Optimus Prime
I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but I kind of really like how that looks. If I can get it for a reasonable price, I might just lift my self-imposed Bumbleban.
bny888
The Tokyo Show example/prototype doesn't seem glossy:

Obakemono
Works in matte black too
