Transformers Go! G-01 - G-04 revealed, includes a new Combiner?

We have been hearing a bit about how Beast Hunters will be released in Japan as Transformers Go! with releases starting from G11 Hunter Optimus Prime (see previous news story, scan from that story at left). The question that this raised with many of us is "why G-11? Where is G01 through G10?"

Well, it seems online retailer Kapow Toys has posted a partial answer. Listings have been added for G-01 through G-04, and by all indications, these are new toys (G-04 we suspect may be an existing Predacon release since they are suspiciously absent from the Japanese listings so far with the exception of Predaking).

The listings are:

G01 Kenzan Samurai, a police car
G02 Jinbu Samurai, a jet
G03 Ganoh Samurai, a fire engine
G04 Gaidora

All four are set for a release in June. Details attached to G01 through G03 indicates that they can combine into three different larger robots - presumably this means that one of them forms the main robot and the remaining two the limbs. Gaidora we assume might be a Predacon, based on the fact that the name has a lot in common with a kaiju from Ultraman or Godzilla / Gojira.

As for what these toys are - well friends, right now there are no pictures, so your guess is as good as ours. The fact that they are combiners means they aren't anything we have seen so far. Perhaps these might be somehow connected to the reported cartoon series being produced for China - or perhaps they are more new Japan-only toys.

Do... wha?

Could this be that series that we heard was Chinese-exclusive, but actually isn't?

To say nothing of the fact that "Go!" is the title the Beast Hunters toys are being released under in Japan...
Omnius
G03 Genoh Samurai - Fire Truck doesn't fit in with any BH toys, so this must be something entirely new.

The rk's listing for Transformers Go toys starts with G11 number (beast hunters voyager Op...)... very weird, now I'm curious to see what are those first numbers characters

Isn't "Go!" the name they're doing botshots under?

No, that's "BeCool."

Whatswhatswhats!? Samurai Transformers!? Combine!? New anime!?

So, Takaratomy wants to make brand-new Brave series!?
Zhadow
I think it's the Japanese beast hunters season vision.
TriBlurr
Very interesting.

Japanese exclusive characters perhaps?
Fort Max
New anime? New characters? New, original design, multi configuration combiners?

I've been hoping that Takara would try something Bravey again for ages and this sounds pretty Bravey to me! : D

Transformers Go! is Japanese Beast Hunters (Can't you just hear the title song already).

BeeCool is the Japanese name for Botshots.
MACRAPTRON
Wasn't for this Prime crap maybe we could have MP17, 18 and 19 earlier.

I will bet 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 dollars this is the same combiner as the Cyberverse Abominus due out this summer as a USA Target exclusive.
TriBlurr
^ Ummmm...it says the combiner is a Jet, a Fire Truck and a Police car.
BraveMax
A... Nowhere does this say it's a combiner.

B... TakTom is already calling BH "Transformers: Go!", and we know that the new series' numbering starts at G11. Why would they release a different animation under the same name using the same numbering system?

If it quacks like a duck...
Crystal Convoy
Ooh, this sounds interesting. Can't wait to see what these are.

The product descriptions on Kapow mention that the can combine.
TriBlurr
The listings on the Kapow website, specifically say that G01 through 03 can combine together.
Thundershot
Too bad it says jet... and not helicopter. We would have 3 of the 4 core Rescue Bots alt modes...

That would have been awesome. Do we know if Rescue Bots got picked up in Japan, or anywhere outside of the US?

Probably, at first I though they would be reissues of Energon figures then read they are a 3-bot system, and Energon didn't have a 2-bot Jet guy.

Depending on design, and quality I might think about picking up a few imports... unless TRU pick them up.

This. Wasn't it announced at NYTF that the Japan version of BH is GO?

The combiners can be nothing more than the minicons that form the sword.

This is shrouded in some mystery so I look forward to a full reveal.

Hey guess what? It says they turn into vehicles not weapons plus this will probably be deluxe class sized.
shellformer
Fire truck? Okay, looking forward to that. And it combines with others in a way more like the BW combiners than scramble city stuff? Interesting.
Fort Max
Read the front page, I am massively confused now. Hopefully this months hobby mags will explain what the hell is going on.

1. Please speak for yourself.
2. Who's to say it won't be canon?

Personally I'm rather interested to see how this turns out, and hope it isn't a Takara-only sort of thing.

1) Who's "we", Kemosabe?

2) Unless you live in Japan, they aren't making this for you at all.

-ZacWilliam, 3) anything they make IS canon by definition, that's the entire meaning of the word.

I've clicked every link I could find and this is all the info I see....

A new Transformers animation from Japan is due this June and goes by the name ''Transformers Go!''

Site sponsor Kapow Toys have posted up the first listings for the new toy line which you can find via the following link -

Kapow Toys

The first releases are

G01 Kenzan Samurai - Police Car
G02 Jinbu Samurai - Jet
G03 Genoh Samurai - Fire Truck
G04 Gaidora

I don't see any mention of a combiner or size class or anything. Once again, was it not varified that TF: GO is just the Japanese name for Beast Hunters?

If HasTak just went with the G1 teams we would never get Magnaboss, Tripredacus, Build King and JRX.

I welcome new non-canon with open arms and hope for even more combiner teams.

Considering their giving us a Senator Ratbat and as of right now Hasbro has no plans to, I wouldn't be shocked if this was something they made up specifically for their BH line.

Right now I'm intrigued to see how this plays out.

Well if you were paying attention to another thread, you would be aware that people like combiners that weren't always 5-bot teams.

There is a lot of love for a lot of different combiners.

Repaints and retools are one thing, all new molds are more of a rarity these days. We'll just have to wait and see.

Thank you, the links I was clicking did not bring me to the actual listing. I see it now and now I am as confused as the rest of you.

I like combiners so bring it on.

Please don't let them be Japan or Asia exclusives can I at least buy it in canada and I don't want to wait for long heck I still have not seen a single prid wave 3 figure (hot shot etc) what's wrong with Canada not being able to get the good figures anymore?

Where in Canada? The GTA gets pretty much everything and only suffers from the end of a line syndrome.

And if it is a Japanese/Chinese show then expect to import everything if you want it.

Calgary and I can't buy stuff from the internet cause my mom does not trust the internet at
all for buying stuff.

I can't remember if Wave 3 hit Alberta; don't think it did.

Might want to try grabbing them at Calgary Comic Expo - someone will probably have those figures. Heck - the local cons are your best bet for grabbing import stuff if you can't shop online.
Yobuster
Well this is definitely interesting news. Vehicles would seem to imply Autobots. Maybe Hasbro will get these as well just not announced yet. Remember how in an interview one of the TF Prime guys said there will be new characters, new support?
General Tekno
I'm actually surprised we haven't seen any preorders on the Japanese retailer sites yet for this stuff. Shouldn't it be out end of next month?

I've had all those figures and while they're ok tell me you wouldn't rather an updated computron than those. Those figures aren't in particular demand nor hard to obtain years after their release. Mix and match combines sounds more more pcc and energon deluxes which were a disaster

"Mix and match combiners" is exactly what scramble city stuff was. The whole point was that the limb robots could be any limb, so you could mix and match. PCC drones do that worse because they specifically become an arm or a leg. I wouldn't really call the Energon deluxes a "disaster", they just aren't amazing and no small part of some of their wonkiness is the aesthetic used. They are all things considered certainly not worse than any of the classic G1 combiners.

And of course BW stuff isn't as hard to obtain as G1 stuff.

Same here. I'm sick and tired of this halfsies game Hasbro and Takara started playing with Prime.

Hasbro:
"We'll do Kup, you can do Ironhide"
"We'll do Dead End, you can do Wild Rider"
'We'll do Thundertron, you can do Leo Prime"
"We'll just do the regular Vehicon, you can have the Jet version"
"Breakdown? LOL"
"Nemesis Prime? Unicron? Nah, bad guys don't sell, we're sure of it"

Takara:
"Works for us"

BMan7705
You know, this kinda sounds like the Protectobots to me...
