It seems like the E-Hobby and Takara-Tomy Mall exclusive line of Transformers toys, Transformers Cloud, is planned to feature eight different toy releases, four on Takara-Tomy Mall and four on E-Hobby. The order page for the Cloud Optimus Prime on Takara-Tomy Mall has a line of text which states:
Please look forward to the new series of Transformers that are planned based on the story over the years each site will have 4 items of products.(Translation by Bing, with some tweaks to improve clarity by yours truly)
This suggests that in addition to Optimus Prime (from Classics Optimus Prime) and Megatron (from Generations GDO Megatron) there might be six more toys to come out of this lineup. The Transformers Cloud first story chapter illustration teases a Rodimus from Generations Voyager Springer; could this be one of the six?
Big thanks to TFW2005 member Powered Convoy for pointing this out to us!

Ah you're right, I haven't seen Henkei Ratchet in a long time, figured he was mostly white to be close to the cartoon and the newer one had the reds.
PoweredConvoy
That's just the normal Henkei release. The newer United release isn't getting released in Japan as far as we know and has a lot more red and painted rims.
What this image is showing is Cloud Brawn and Optimus with the figures that represent cloud Bumblebee and Ratchet which is the generations Legends BB and Henkei Ratchet.

We still don't know – so far only 2 sets of figures revealed – 2 sets are still unknown. Don't know if Bee there is an upcoming figure, or if we're getting Ratchet released as part of the line, considering he's already getting his own release as part of the Autobot 3-pack. I'm still hoping they'll release a Classics Cliffjumper done in the right colors – Takara has never released him yet.

Shit……does that mean no Rodimus?
I wanted that guy.
Star Saber
Ah, gotcha, don't really follow Legends releases these days, so not sure if that was anything new. Seems they're pushing the new Asia release Ratchet as part of Cloud. Wonder if he's getting a release as an individual figure in the line.
Sammael
That's 2013 Generations Legends Bumblebee, Takara version.
Star Saber
Takaratomymall just posted a new pic of the Cloud Figures.
Is that a new Bumblebee?

Voyager figures in Japan are 5200 Yen. The Cloud Voyagers are 5980 Yen. So they're only a little less than $8 more.
Chalk it up to exclusivity for the price difference there.
The $40 extra mockup you're seeing for domestic imports is because the retailers have to go through a source in Japan to get them. A source that is likely making a profit off of each figure.
From there the domestic importers have to make their profit off of the figure as well, so chalk that up to part of the $40 increase you're seeing.
If you lived in Japan you'd be only paying around $60 for the figures.
I know I'm buying them direct from Japan and after all is said and done, they'll probably only cost me around $65 – $75.

They are so expensive due to there might be low in production run for these figures? But still i can't see a reasonable logic behind such a high price hike for each figure.
LegendAntihero
I'm not instrested in Megatron since I already own the GDO version. I'll probably get Optimus because my current classics toy has a scratch on his faceplate.
vvvTheONEvvv
^^I've seen you do the same in other threads.
the cloud figures are neat, I am not denying that aspect… I just thought if enough of us voiced about the cost being outrageous, they'd go on clearance faster due to no sales at that price.
I care about the figures, which is why I am here… not once have I said they are bad molds or worthless TF's – just that they are common repaints and should be cheaper, regardless of what the limited production is – we all know it wont be 25 total ever made.

^I love how you are so emotionally invested in something that you care nothing about. Imagine what you people could do if you turned your passion into something productive instead of arguing about stuff you don't care about with convoluted justification.

maintain…. coherence… in… the… speech…
so glad you are talking about yourself and not me
I explained very clearly my views and the atrocity of these prices for only getting repaints of figures… takara/tomy/henkei is NOT better than hasbro/US in quality – only paint aps, if you like their paint aps…
limited run of figures does NOT justify 100.00 a figure… look at TFCC FSS figures… they only cost 50.00 a pop, unless you are wanting to pay scalper-prices.
for 100.00 a figure, you can get something waaaaaay more appealing – like warbotron for example.
if you like these figures at the prices they are offered at, then you are part of the reason these prices exist.
when these figures go on clearance at bbts like the tetra squadron did, I'll scoop them all up, but until then, I'll just smile knowing there are people like you in the world.
have a great day!

Only 3,000 Yen in 2008.
5,200 Yen. The Cloud figures are 5,960 Yen. So they're only about $7 – $8 more than a regular Voyager, but nearly double price of the original Henkei Convoy.
For some perspective the Henkei Deluxes were only 2,000 Yen and the newer Generations Deluxes are 2,980. So the mass release figures have all increased in price about 30 to 40% over the last 6 years.

No idea or connection to this mold? WTF that means?
Remember us, what was originally the release price of the Henkei version in Japan ?
What is the release price of a Generations Voyager nowadays in Japan?
Considering how inferior Transformer are with every line, and Henkei is BY FAR superior than Generations in QC matters….and of course considering how limited these figure are . what is the price you want to pay…specially in other country?
Seriusly, try to mantain coherence in the speech.

They are only this expensive due to the low production run. The more of a toy (including repaints) is made, the cheaper it is. The less that are made, the more expensive it is.
I agree that Optimus Prime is pointless since he's not really that different to the original, I might even say the Cloud Optimus Prime looks worse than the original IMO.
vvvTheONEvvv
for those of you who do NOT own a classics optimus/nemesis/magnus mold… why in the hell would you pay 100.00 for this and have no idea or connection to this mold?!? go buy a 20.00 used version and see if it is to your liking or not first…
for those of you who HAVE other classics molds of optimus/nemesis/magnus… aside from the henkei crystal optimus prime MISB, have you really spent what they are asking for these cloud figures on others of the same mold?!? seriously – overpriced to hell.
if they dropped these down to 99.00 for 2 figures, then maybe it would be close enough to sway the majority – – but 800.00 for 8 figures!?!?
eff'n rediculous…
they should rename this line "smoke and mirrors" for all the magic acts and big asking prices…
recolored classics prime… recolored gdo megatron… recolored generations blitzwing… recolored PRID bulkhead…
come on… you people are seriously contemplating paying these amounts!?!?
they'll all show up on clearance soon enough.
my rants, raves, and

I plan on grabbing it since I don't have a classics OP. I like the colors. But I'm still determined to grab a Takara classics megatron…

For those who do not own the Classic Optimus Prime mold, will strongly recommend this Cloud series Optimus Prime
