Wow, they have quite a number of stock waiting in storage. I need to be patient too. 
Hmm.. BBTS have nothing to loose by discounting them..even selling them $60 a pop a decent sum would be made.

ha, i doubt it'll ever go that low... i think BBTS might do 25% off at some point, making him around $90, but i kinda doubt we'll see him drop below that... but who knows... kinda wish BBTS was going to Botcon this year, it'd be nice to haggle for one...
yeah, i'm kinda hoping to find one too, but we'll see what happens.

In what universe can they make "a decent sum" by selling a toy for less than it cost them? The Generations book cost about $35, Stepper cost $60 and then they had to get the items shipped to them.

It's a gorgeous piece - well worth seeing if Bodhar or one of the other dealers has any at Botcon.
The backdrop - decided to go with blue because white on white is really hard to do while keeping the detail at a level I'd be happy with. For consistency's sake, it was then better to stick with the same backdrop throughout. Chalk it up to a creative decision.

just wondering if you actually know how much Stepper originally costs? the $110 price-tag (not counting the cost of the book, as they only sell the toy alone) is obviously after factoring in middle-man and import costs. say okay-maybe $60 is stretching it, and they want to loose the 300+ stocked items fast-- how do they do it? maybe by reducing it to say $85? Id still buy it for that price. Anything less than what it is currently going for, that;s for sure!

well, they could order 2 with each book right? so at most, it cost them about 80 each... but they've also gotta get some sort of discount for ordering as many as they did... still, i hope for a sale at some point...

That's the single negative thing I could say about it. Otherwise it's incredibly well done. Definitely one of my recent faves in my collection and I'm definitely excited to get Artfire to stand behind it on my shelf.

Not likely. If places like BBTS still have stock, they won't increase the price just because a photo gallery or a new figure hits the market.
Ditto, but it is not likely. Places like BBTS are used to sitting on inventory. Something like Stepper will likely never see a huge drop unless... Hasbro releases a Generations version which everyone will grab and possible forget about shelling out the dough for the Takara version. Then BBTS would lower the price since an item difficult to move becomes even more difficult.
Then again, it's just wishful thinking.

According to an email I received from Bodhar, Stepper was perhaps one of the most popular exclusives yet though, so I'd not recommend holding off for too long on getting one. TFSource has their Steppers on sale at the moment, not the huge reduction some of you are after though I fear.

I know how you feel. My wife and I took a beating in taxes this year and I feel guilty enough chasing the couple of priorities I have permission to pursue. A couple hundred on exclusives isn't gonna happen unless I dump some other stuff first.

Stepper is on my list for higher cost Botcon items. Not sure I will be able to resist if I see it in person.

Hasbro just needs to stop the repaints and het with the program. Third party companies are reaping the loot on transformers and accessories hasbro choese not to make.

Not to mention, this one was actually a repaint that had a fair bit of fan demand driving behind it - Stepper was a repaint of Jazz in G1 and a lot of people wanted a Stepper from the new Jazz for Classics.

So far from being correct. 3rd parties might be making themselves some cash and that is mainly thanks to the collector scene. But reaping loot they are not. Clearly you have no knowledge of how much earnings Takara/Hasbro makes off of Transformers products. Repaints are a major factor since it cuts cost so they will continue to do it.
This is probably very true. Seems like since Artfire was announced then shown Stepper interest rose with it; or well at least forum chatter about him.

That seems to be the case..which makes me doubt that I can wait and pick Stepper up for atleast less than the intial asking price like previous Millions exclusives.
Slightly on a tangent..when are we going to get a domestic Jazz redeco as a major retail release? And what may that be..how far-fetched is a Generations Ricochet with without a targetmaster?

Well, we never saw a Hasbro retail clear Mirage or Starscream's Ghost, even though both were prominent on the show.
As an aside, I would suddenly love to see a mid-warp Skywarp released, while we're talking about special powers-themed redecoes.

True, but at least their molds received one or multiple re-decos for mass consumption- domestically speaking. The Jazz mold so far has only gotten two exclusives (one a slight retool) and an forthcoming Asia-market only retool.
Well the Trans-scanning Movie figures were not too far removed from that concept..one can dream, right?
