Takara Tomy staff Transformers Marketing Producer Mr.Maeda and MP-10 Convoy Version 2.0 designer Mr.Hasui recently (7pm on 22 September) had a two-hour twitter session with fans. One of the key points coming from the conversation has already been widely reported, the reveal of a potential Masterpiece Ultra Magnus Version 2.0. According to the designer, the concept is already completed, and is just waiting fan’s positive reaction to make the actual product a reality (so what are you waiting for? Make your voice heard!)
Other points of interest from the Twitter conversation include:
– Alternity cars can fit into MP-10’s trailer. Should look good with Bumblebee!
– Looking to future Masterpieces, Masterpiece Megatron Version 2.0 has been considered.
– Many fans passed along their wishes for a Masterpiece Soundwave.
– Transformers United news – There is no immediate plan for future Transformers United releases, but if Transformers United is revisited, the most likely candidates are characters from Generations that have not already been released as United.
Many thanks to 2005 Boards Content and Photo Staff member SydneyY for sending this summary over to us!

I dont mind an MP ultramagnus, but I dont know if I agree with having the same transformation as G1. I never liked how magnus is basically just prime with armor. I wish they could come up with a brand new transformation… enough with the trailer armor.
DPrime
Agreed, but it'd be nice if they branched out a little bit more!
klawie
if they make galvatron rather than an improved megatron would be cool……
Rob
Great point, let taker Tomy focus on the bigger characters like prime and megs

Not sure I like the direction the MP line is going in at all. Feels all too much like a retread.
I'm much more excited with where iGear's PP line is headed, especially with PP05 not-Ironhide and not-Ratchet. While TakTom is spitting out Primes like there's no tomorrow, iGear is giving us characters we actually want (or fixing what HasTak broke, particularly the horrible Classics/Henkei versions of Ironhide and Ratchet). PP04 not-Bumblebee and not-Cliffjumper are next in their lineup and I can't wait to see what else they have in store for us.
Prime sells, I guess. Doesn't mean we have to buy into it.
DPrime
Yeah, Germans seem to have gotten a little wimpy over the years.
In all seriousness, I think the only way we're going to see "MP versions" of the G1 cars anytime soon is through iGear. Can't wait for Ironhide and Rachet!
As you stated, Takara seems intent on large figures only, anyway, and at a very slow rate, to boot. Along with being hampered by legal issues, I don't think we'd ever see official MP Autobot cars, but CHUG's usually good enough!

MP releases tend to go for screen accuracy in a larger figure that can usually stow alot of details/gimmicks. New altmodes, or updates to them, are usually the domain of Henkei/Classics and their successors. Guess we'll see how well iGear's Medical and Weapon Specialist fit with other ranges of figures; they may be all alot of fans have hoped for in G1 Ratchet and Ironhide.
That said I think MP versions of either G1 toy or Universe Sunstreaker / Sidespwipe / Red Alert would be cool. Infact since G1 Sunstreaker has a completely different transoformation, making them all in the Henkei/Universe layout would milk more figures from one mold. Then to use Jazz as an example, he in particular might need an updated MP design; there'd be a bit of legal red tape going G1, seeing as Porsche – and VW for that matter – do not want to have their brand associated with 'war toys'.
Rob
Hey do you think/would you consider buying a g1 mp Ironhide (new alt mode)?
[Wing_Saber-X]
I kinda like where the MP line is going with the release of the new and improved Perfect Transformation Convoy MP-10. Bring it on.
Rob
Oh, that kind of sucks for movie fans, why didn't they make Ironhide a tad smaller would saved them money to.
Insane Galvatron
No, he's not even close to being in scale with the Voyager. Topkicks are massive trucks nearly as bit as a rig. For leader Prime, the Leader Ironhide is too big, and the voyager is way too small.
HA are more like 1/28 scale. Put Barricade next to Alt Grimlock and you'll see they are a tad smaller.
DPrime
I have to admit, I would probably buy that, but I'd still rather they leave the Seekers alone (other than a domestic Thundercracker release)…
Rob
Isn't ROTF Optimus Prime more or less in scale with the Voyager Ironhide (1:32)? I have ROTF Optimus Prime and I even think he is pretty awesome (only rubber wheels away from masterpiece), I do not even like the movie universe.
Human Alliance figures are 1:24 scale like Alternators.

Thing is the differences between the F-14 and F-15 aren't that insurmountable imo. Both are twin engine, twin vertical stabilizer aircraft(F-18 would work too). It's not like trying to make a G1 Starscream from an F-16 or something else with a single engine and vertical stab. And can you imagine how many Starscreams with a Skystriker deco they could sell?
Bigbot3030
Thenames9
Masterpiece Beast Wars Megatron, with authentic 'YEEESSSS' voice chip please.
conleyh2006
megs needs to be updated to better fit in and please do the g1 version and ultra magnus is bought also cant wait to see what is to come another idea is mp sunstreaker and the rest of the dinobots that would be some cool ideas to make the mp line grow
Deceptijohn
I don't know, maybe if he even types the word Starscream in a thread where MP-11 has come up he will get in trouble.
OptimusTimelord
Now that would actually be worth a new set of MP seekers!
…On a practical level though, I imagine it would be a nightmare to design (same MP bot mode; totally different alt mode shape). Has anyone ever tried to kitbash this? From the MP seeker mold I mean; I recall a Supreme Starscream attempt.

Duly noted! What's all this about Chris Latta? I mean I know he voiced G1 Starscream but he also voiced Wheeljack (and Defensor) right? Ahh… Masterpiece Wheeljack! ^_^
