E-Hobby has updated their website with preorders for the upcoming Takara Tomy Generations Fall of Cybertron figures. TF01 Optimus Prime and TF02 Jazz are both available and now have pictures to show off the incoming goods from Takara. Unlike Takara's current Arms Micron line, these figures will not have stickers or Microns that accompany them, but will have metallic paint decos.

Check out the new images of these figures by clicking the link above or the title bar. Then head over to the 2005 Boards to discuss!

Jazz looks amazing but i cant really tell a difference in prime
slugslinger2004
Prime looks much better than the Hasbro release. Jazz, not so much.
Shatterpoint
Takara! You're back!
Autobot_Jacer
They look pretty nice!
theestampede
I kind of want shiny prime
Robogeek28
Yeah those look Soooooo much better.
MechaV
Ahhh Jazz looks so good.

Shame Shockwave is getting released in the Arms Micron line, I want some of that shiny purple.

Bruticus is gonna look AWESOME.

Yeah, screw Prime and Jazz. It'll probably cost $200 for the set, but I can't wait to see Bruticus.
Transbot90210
Very very nice.

I get the feeling Takara's Bruticus is going to put the SDCC version to shame.

HA HA HA HA HA!

Jazz's head looks better just because of the inverted colors.
Heat Guy
Prime looks sweet.
[Wing_Saber-X]
Nice! so glad I held out for Takara versions.

Pre-ordered the Prime from etoysjapan! ;D
Ribieconvoy
Jazz looks amazing. Prime looks cool, but the bright and shiny look doesn't really match up with his in-game appearance very well. He was more of a gritty looking bot.
Dirge121
Wow, Jazz is... wow. Its like a whole other figure. Amazing what you can do for a mold just by adding paint.

I agree with the people wondering about Bruticus, that should be spectacular.
Kylehudson14
Sweeeeet.
Robogeek28
I can't wait to see how good Bruticus is gonna look!
alteisen99
oh wow. imagine what a few more paint apps can do to a figure
Solrac333
See, Hasbro? Do THAT and maybe I might be ok with 15 bucks.
BlueAngel_Bolt
Preordered Optimus. Jazz looks meh to me.

If this is any indication of what they're gonna do with Bruticus, my wallet is gonna be headed for the trauma center.
shibamura_prime
Jazz is pretty slick. I'm game.
castdream475
Jazz and Optimus look really neat. Can't wait for Bruticus.
Grimlockimus
Forget Bruticus, I just want to see how Takara Grimlock looks!
Powersa
Great start for their flagship figures. Very nice paint jobs.

I doubt TT will apply metallic paint to the whole line. It's usually reserved for Optimus, Megatron, Bumble, etc. Typical wave 1 stunt.

Too bad these will be about $30 and people won't complain half as much as they do about the Hasbro versions.

Imported so yeah they would cost more.

Jesus christ Jazz looks so much better, even though the mold is effectively shit. At least it looks pretty. Optimus too for the record. Hasbro's just looked like horrible abominations.
Thundershot
Keep in mind that Bruticus will cost close to $200 from the online toy stores. ($38 x 5 = $190)
Theprimeoflegen
ya but, sdcc bruticus is about the same, hahaha and if bruticus has this kind of paint my wallets gonna cry with joy, for this may be worth it .

But the big question is, which deco will it sport? Will it be the US retail versions but shinier, or will they unleash the Rage flood and be the same or similar to the SDCC colors?
Jazzfan0217
Hey Jazzy gotta upgrade, in detail that is. Looks great !
WhiteMocha
No poorly-adhering stickers? No tumorous minicon ports glued on? Back to traditional Takara metallic paint jobs?

Halle-fuckin'-lujah, the long night is over.
G1Prowl
Sweet, Argent Meister!

Think I'll get this and try to find a nice replacement head to turn HasJazz into either Searchlight or Breakdown.
Duwian
OMG they both look beautiful! I want them both.

Hey, is Jazz's chest remolded? It looks like it has a opened space to make his head look less sunk in.
Tekkaman Blade
oh man can't wait to see Bruticus and Grimlock

I agree! Jazz looks pretty nice, but Prime is still the same. That metallic red isn't doing miracles this time around!
REMINATOR
Wow, certainly that Prime goes from suck to awesome thanks to TTomy metallic paint. Me like it!
Girl Pants
So I noticed that these are now not on Amiami any more. They were up before but I held off until pictures. Now I want Jazz.
Prime Jetscream
All I like is the extra glow color paint apps. The tone and shine of the colors, eaaahhh.
opt1musaber
They've managed to peak my interest into buying one of these now
flywheels
Man Prime looks really really nice. Must resist ordering until I can drum up some more sales...
Lbsammills51
Hmm, I like the look of Jazz. Optimus, with the very metallic deco, looks more like a store or convention exclusive that's being offered at retail in Japan. It does look nice though, and if I'm to own a version of this mold I think I'm good with this version over the Hasbro one.

Looks like I'll be keeping these preorders at BBTS, or just switching to eToys come December. Cool.

Though I get where this comment is coming from (and I don't blame you or others for feeling this way, even though I personally have been enjoying the microns in Prime and wouldn't mind the stickers if they'd just plan their application much better than they have so far)...I do find this a bit hilarious in general since the fandom was hardly over the moon for the metallic decos used in Takara's Animated lines and even in some of the United figures.

Very different contexts going on in each scenario, I know...but rejoicing the return of metallic decos is something I still find amusing.
artiepants
Nice paint, crap molds.

Oh, I know. And as I was writing that I realized that irony. Takara's metallic paintjobs have been a mixed bag, for sure. They were terribly out of place on the Animated figures (for which flat plastic better represented the cel-painted look), but I enjoyed them on the WFC and FE Prime figures. I think they work well on characters whose on-screen representations are CG, as the glossiness is more justified. Sometimes the metallics are gaudy, but after the figures had "aged" a bit for me, I found I really liked the metallic Takara versions of a lot of characters. They felt a bit more collector-oriented to me.

Really it's just a testament to how bad the recent Takara Prime releases have been, though. I feel like I'd much rather have gaudy, blingy paint than no paint at all. These cheapy molds (Jazz in particular) need all the help they can get to feel collector-grade.
soymonk
About time they got rid of those crappy stickers.
opt1musaber
Preordered Optimus n jazz My first time with these moulds. Hopefully we get a nice surprise and the plastics been been filled out and not the same hollow crap from Hasbro, but if not, the colour scheme is impressive enough.
simonatmac
Am I wrong or do the TAKARA versions have a better plastic quality?
IMO it is so. Plus the paint is better.
Shockwave9227
Takara Optimus makes the Hasbro version look like a Playskool figure. And Jazz's new paint job is absolutely wonderful. I think I'll wait for a Takara Bruticus to see if it comes out like these two.
CobramusPrime
Well I guess FOC Prime and Jazz will be added to my collection after all.
