E-Hobby have posted the first story chapter of Transformers Cloud online. The story chapter is accompanied by an illustration showing various characters, the majority of whom are drawn from existing Transformers classic-themed lines, with Optimus Prime and Megatron being the new Transformers Cloud exclusives.
There’s one exception though – to the left of the image Hot Rod (called Hot Rodimus in the story). He’s not an existing toy. He seems to be a Rodimus themed redeco of the Generations Voyayger Springer mold.
Could this be a teasing first look at an upcoming Transformers Cloud exclusive, or just something the artist threw in because the script called for Hot Rod to be there? Watch this space for more news.

There's nothing to mod. Just leave it in foot mode and no pegleg.
Galaxy Convoy
Whoops. Thought Takara had modded the mold for Leo Prime to have a regular leg instead of the peg leg.

Repainting Springer into Rodimus isn't a bad idea in any way. He's got a big rear spoiler like Rodimus
Renidragon
So far, I can imagine it working, but that's all. I want to see it before I'll actually believe it.

Stan Bush tricks out the helicopter he bought with the money earned from "the Touch"

This is generations springer, right?
If so, i would like hasbro try to pull of a Rodimus Prime Triple-Changer!

…?
Both versions are the same. Use the accessory to complete the leg.
And that's a neat enough idea.

How do I buy this?
Purple Heart
Nerd Boner.
Galaxy Convoy
A Razorclaw remold of AM Leo Prime(so no peg leg) would be slick.
Purple Heart
I wonder who he will come with… Maybe a Galvatron from Prime Megatron?

So this is wave three then.
I have to admit that I thought it was ridiculous that Rodimus would use the Springer mold but after Starscream, I can easily see them doing it now.

Well, please keep me posted if you design 1 on Shapeways. I've seen the 1 made to convert "Prime" Wheeljack into Hot Rod, but I'm afraid it might be to small. Also, w/ Springer's 3 5mm ports, it should be easy enough to just move it.
To be honest, I thought it would take more effort. I think the only real retool needed (compared to what I've done), is a spoiler on a 5mm peg that can be moved, and perhaps a head that looks a little more G1.
Yeah, it took a little while for the promotional image to grow on me, but once I repainted him.. It almost feels like this was planned by Takara all along.

It scares me that this works out this well than it should.
Megatron31
honestly with just a little bit of retooling it would make a pretty decent hotrod

I think this might turn out much better then people expect. They will probably eliminate the kibble of a 3rd mode, and retool to better match roddy. Think it might work very nicely using springer as a base to start from.

I've had the same thoughts. I'm just too cheap and lazy to get into another custom right now.
I was pondering a big Shapeways printed spoiler than can plug into the roof and swivel around for bot mode.

My version of the "Cloud" Rodimus
To be honest, I actually enjoy the idea. Granted, when made to look similar to his G1 counterpart, his car modes coloring suffers. But still a great idea from Takara. I never cared for the extending "panels" on Springer's shoulders, so I never moved them, so for Hot Rod/Rodimus, it actually works. Please keep in mind this is still a WIP, I'm still thinking of ideas for his spoiler.
For those who hate the idea just because "Rodimus ISN'T a Triple Changer", I have 2 solutions for you.
1.) DON'T USE HIS HELICOPTOR MODE! It's just an available Alt mode, not 1 that you NEED to use.
2.) You can do what I did: cut off the wings on his forearms and glue the sword in its "closed" position.
*The red I used (Testors enamel Rouge Red) turned surprisingly dark when applied to Springer's grey panels, though, I think the outcome was still rather good.
