New Decos for United EX Master Series Revealed

Looks like they went for unifying color schemes for the drone teams.

The results for Combatmaster/Bombshock look pretty boring. Pass

I kinda like Jetmaster's colors though. Blue and white is pretty. (So close to the Jetfire colors I wanted to see, but just missing. Ah well.)

Can't really imagine what they were thinking for the Icepick repaint. Weird busy clashy colors. But they look good on the alt. Form.

Searchlight/Choppermaster looks interesting. Going seafoam for a rescue copter makes sense, and works but isn't quite different enough to really interest me.

heh, "masters". Hopefully they will at least release Heavy Tread so more people can get a shot at owning the best PCC has to offer.

They should've repainted Heavytread and Skyhammer as the leaders for those sets honestly, but not too bad looking at all.

Since the Icepick/Searchlight set apparently retains the minicons, I'm curious what the Chainclaw redeco will look like (the Backwind redeco is pictured, didn't see anything for the other minicon).

I'm not sure what I'll do with the Bombshock and Skyburst redecos since those are two of my least favorite commander molds...but I do like the unified look of each with the drones, so we'll see.

I dig the unified color schemes that the 2 sets have, and i like the way Icepick and Searchlight looks pretty rad too... the white and blue's look super clean on Skyburst... surprised they didn't go more G1 and make them dead ringers for Superion and Bruticus...

i need to resist buying these molds for a 3rd time... but if i find them at the right price, they'll be mine...

Found em... you can click on the link for Amazon japan and see the new decos. They're superior to the USA versions, IMHO. I alway preferred a unified scheme like Devastator over the hodgepodge rainbow combiners.

The Icepick and Searchlight repaints look great. We'll see if I can rationalize getting them.

And Pre-orders cancelled, That is way too much for PCC's. For me anyways...

was really hoping takara would have gone with a g1 themed maybe with the combiners so no need to repurchase any of these. thank god.

I wonder what the last unrevealed micron looks like. Hmmmmm. Hoping the $75 price tag someone mentioned is high.... I'd love to find a cheaper deal on them and pick them up.

BUT wow. For ONE transforming BASIC sized figure and drones, $75 is WAAAAY too high. That would be like $35 for the figure, and $10 for each drone, if you broke it up kinda logically.

The two Commanders don't seem to exactly match-up in color with their drones, at least in the non-combined pics (the Bombshock repaint seems to be army green combined but more of a forest green by himself, odd).



Finally, something that's totally different from the original version.


I was kinda hoping they'd mix up the drones and whatnot, as opposed to being more or less the same with slight color changes.

I want that Icepick, but the rest are kind of meh and not worth the high price point.

I might just pick up the ones that come out that only got one mold release stateside, ie Icepick, Sledge, Skyhammer, Grimstone, Double Clutch, Steamhammer, Heavy Tread and Undertow. Unless the new decos are so awesome I have to buy a third version of these guys.

Better color schemes than the U.S. releases? Yes, for the most part.

Do the new paintjobs make them worth buying? Not for me. No amount of re-coloring can save these molds, in my opinion (especially at import prices).

(The Icepick repaint is the most tempting of the lot; his mold is actually not bad, and the purple and gold looks pretty nice.)


They DO unquestionably look better with the unified schemes. As for Bruticus, I wonder if we'll see a G1-ish repaint of the FOC set coming from Takara. Or maybe they'll just go for game accuracy.

Yeah, the real plus about this line WAS the price point. Hasbro worked to bring us an affordable combiner with a lot of play value. You take away the affordable bit, and you have a seriously flawed toy line. :-(

I will get all of them but I am stuck with the Searchlight redeco which is a lame mold because he is part of the 2-pack with Icepick mold

look at the bright side,atleast his color scheme matches with the unreleased reveal the sheild bodyblock figure. if only it wasn't a unreleased toy.

The Searchlight redeco looks a lot like the Beast Wars Seacon redecos, at least in pics. I'd like to see that deco on Undertow.

These look worse than the US versions. I don't like how they all have the same colors.

"Prime Mode" is what the two combiners are referred to as. I'm guessing that is the name of any of them combined - so Chopper Force is Chopper Force Prime Mode when combined.

I'm curious to see what is done with some of the other releases in the line such as Huffer or Double Clutch. Potential for some very nicely done recolours here.

I was wondering if they wanted Icepick to be a Goryu hommage, but... nope, missing the white.

while I enjoy the more uniform deco I think I will stick with the Hasbro Ice pick

Icepick redeco's look glorious he looks like G2 Clench. If i can get one I'd get him for sure.

Icepick is pretty sharp, but not enough for me to pick these up.

I'm dying to know what story Takara's going to come up with to fit these guys into United. For example, if they released the Dinobots and said they were in some way connected to the original Dinobots, I would totally buy them and put them on mu CHUG shelf.

Takara managed to make PCC almost not suck.

$75? For a PCC? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Even if that is partially due to the fact that the monetary conversion rate is wack, thats still a garbage price.

Well this gives TFC a reason to have a repainted release of their WWII tank and plane combiners. TFC's first tease is what made me collect PCC in the first place. This Takara line of United EX Masters Series will have to wait until later to make it on the want list.

Just because they are Takara doesn't justified the price tag for these PCC
