hmm the light bar seems huge. still a buy though

Something about his head sculpt, it looks off to me.

New head, light bar and false wheels in bot mode.

Will consider if I want this once colored pics are out.

I wasn't totally okay with this figure being a MP-12 redeco but the slight retooling is actually kinda cool. The fact they thought about putting wheels on the shoulders is a big plus to me. This is really a masterpiece line after all.

So 3rd party head for Red Alert, or what?

yeah that would be nice... but Takartomy have announced and it's been confirmed that MP-14 would be R_A instead.

Now that is something that would make it a helluva lot more enticing. For a 100 bucks I would so buy it. This is something the MP line can and probably should do later on, especially the minibots. Produce BB, CJ etc and sell them as a Multi pack. It would get the characters released faster this way imo.

The new head and shoulders came as a pleasant surprise to me. That really shows attention to detail. I'm still wondering whether or not the weapons will store in vehicle mode, but somehow I doubt it.

They won't store in but they'll store on. Lambor's peg hole is on the roof while Alert's is on the lightbar.

^That car mode makes up for his bot mode imo

Nice!! I've always preferred Red Alert's deco to Sideswipe/Sunstreaker, he makes them look plain.

Just additional siren for the car mode of Red Alert.

Nice remolded details on RA. I had thought that the legs would feature sliders similar to the MP Seeker or Classics Wheeljack/Tracks molds in order to possibly make RA shorter than SS (just set the sliding leg a notch lower) but I don't think that's the case here. Still, new head and wheel shoulders are a nice touch. That Autobot symbol on SS is frackin' huge though; they should have made it 1/2 - 3/4 the size instead.

Arrrgh...with these and the Takaratomy PRID stuff coming out this and the next year, I think I can officially say I am going to be broke for life!

Only issues with the mold as shown for either is the plastic wheels. MP should be rubber.

why are the "chins" on his head/helmet so far forward? can't remember him looking like that.

You mean the cheeks?? Not sure myself, makes him look a little pinheaded.

Red Alert is worthless. Sunstreaker should've taken priority over Red Alert. and selling them separately for 70$ is stupid when they should've made a 2 pack for 100$ with both figures considering Red alert is nothing but a repaint and while I know that how he is in the G1 cartoon, he's not an important character. Soundwave had BETTER come with ALL the cassettes and not just Laserbeak in order for him to be worth the 150$ price tag.

I'll probably end up liking this more than Sideswipe.

I like how they added the fake wheels to make him look like his G1 toon self. Definitely a buy.

I'm pretty excited about getting Red Alert. Just because you want to be a bad apple about all of this doesn't mean some of us aren't happy with it.

Sunstreaker maybe in their plan as well,we shall see what happen.

Actually am happy that Sideswipe & Red Alert has make it into the MP line.

Personally I'm guessing that TakTom will go forward with bots that have repaint potential first. Bots like Prowl can have Bluestreak and Smokescreen and Ironhide has Ratchet etc etc.

Damn, what a day! I am a HUGE Lamborghini fan so Sideswipe and Red Alert are must haves for me. Can't wait to see it painted up. That alt mode looks great, even in gray. lol.

I wish they could figure out a way to collapse the chest like they did for MP-09 Rodimus.

False wheels on the shoulder is a weird choice. I know Red Alert's animation model was closer to the toy, but it still seems odd to observe that in this instance. And of course, I'm oldschool enough that I would have liked to see wheels on Sideswipe's shoulders too.

On the topic of being "oldschool", I love the head. In fact I like it better than Sideswipe's head. I wonder if they're going black or red for the head colour? If they're the same, I'd gladly swap them... that is, if I end up getting a Red Alert. He was always my least favourite Diaclone redeco for some reason.

I also like the big chest. It was always one of those signature Sideswipe things for me (and of course the swapped bio explaining why "his" chest was so heavily armoured...whoops).

I'm surprised that they're giving us Red Alert so soon, instead of another new car mold. It feels like they'd want to wait a while to do a redeco because the excitement over Sideswipe will make Red Alert feel more afterthought-ish and less appealing.
