MP-16 Frenzy & Buzzsaw In Hand Photos
As is evident from the photos, MP-16 comes in the standard black Takara Tomy Masterpiece box. Although we've seen the various accessories that are included with this set, including pile drivers and weapons for Frenzy, photos of the instructions reveal some details about the interaction between these cassette figures and the also soon-to-be-released MP-13 Masterpiece Soundwave. Notably, Masterpiece Soundwave appears to have storage compartments for Frenzy's weapons, and he can mount the pile drivers on his arm as a double-barreled cannon.

I like these designs. Considering the limitations of transforming into a cassette tape, I think these are the best versions of these characters we will ever get. That said, aesthetically, think I like Perfect Effect's Rumble and Frenzy better. Robot mode wise. But still...we're getting MP tapes. And a MP Soundwave. For me, as a big fan of Buzzsaw, I have to say I am eagerly anticipating this set. Flaws and all.
Between all the new MP's and the plethora of must have 3rd party toys, this year is going to kick my wallet's ass.

I'm assuming these aren't the final versions, no way could they be that sloppy.

Paint looks bad, and at $30 a piece they should be magnificent. Is that clear orange cassette from the shattered glass soundwave/blaster set?

Heck he has them spun around in the piledriver shot just to make it look like he is crouching... I have heard of Thunder thighs but thunder boots!? I had not noticed that before D:

Seems so inconsistent. In some shots the chest paint is there, then in other shots they're not. I don't think they're the same toys between pictures... mixture of retail and test shots, methinks.

Strange we are getting in hand pics as this isn't due until late march. Ravage/Rumble is late Feb and I haven't seen any pics like these.
Rumble/Frenzy transformation looks an exact copy of G1. Not much to work with though.

If you compare the paintjob between every photo, you'll notice it goes from looking non existant, to half there, to all there... I think we're merely dealing with a lighting issue here folks. Let's calm down.

No it's a KO. The clear Cassette from the sG set is a clear yellow and opaque white Rewind / Eject redeco. Totally different.

Hmm You are right!, those knee joints gave the impression he was hinging from back in the crouching pose.. but still those lower legs look very thick.
With the perfection Buzzsaw is showing, I'm surprised they gave frenzy thunder boots.

I don't mind the paint job, aside from the chest scuffing that may or may not be a lighting issue. I am still excited for these guys. However, I've never seen that Ramhorn before, is that a potential MP Ramhorn? And if so, should we be expecting Blaster any day now??

Yes that's a really neat touch. They have put some thought into this.
Yeah you're right they look 'worn' but doesn't bode well at how long the decor will stand up if this is how they look already. Hopefully these are just testpieces.
That Buzzsaw is gorgeous in every way though. How the hell are there pictures of this set out the already???

Exactly. I'm sure these figures were handled, dropped, posed, transformed back an forth numerous times. The box has probably been passed around a crap load of times with these SAMPLE figures within them. I fear not. TT will make pull through for us.

I transated the review from actoys and it states that these come with more Takara paint defects, no metal as well. So I guess its now quanity instead of quality in this masterpiece line. Might as well let China take over if this is the way its gonna be. While their at it, change the name from masterpiece to s**tpiece so it all makes sense to us.

On the picture of the two in cassette mode,there appears to be an alphanumeric code tampo'd onto Frenzy.
As far as I'm aware this won't be present on the final production run (I've never seen it on any previous photos) - meaning that these are likely to be samples.

if this is the case there isn't really a reason to go with hastak over a good quality third party mp. QC issues on MPs are unacceptable. i hope when i wake up this will all be a misunderstanding and this is just some protoshoot. i fear it is not. good night.
