Kabaya DX Gum Transformers (Fortress Maximus) In Hand Gallery

Alfes2000 of the Higekuma Toy Toy Blog has posted a pair of galleries of the newest Kabaya Transformers assortment, the DX Gum kits. The DX kits come with small Transformers and bases for them to interact with, sort of like the old Micromaster bases of old. The three bases together though can be combined to form the mighty Fortress Maximus. Fully assembled this candy kit version of Fortress Maximus stands at approximately the height of a modern Voyager Class toy - a perfect height for those looking for a Marvel comics Generation 1 scaled Fortress Maximus to interact with their Classics collection.

Probably a bit closer to Voyager if you look at how he is shoulder to shoulder with the Powerizer Optimus Prime. Good scale compared to how he was in the Marvel G2 comics - also loving the God Ginrai riding on the back of him pic, based on Masterforce!

According to the BBTS pre-order, these come in a case of 5. Yet, only 3 are needed to build the set. That means every case is short of a second set by 1. What a crappy move by Kabaya. Oh well, I'll be selling my extras for $12 each if anyone needs a specific one to finish a second set.

Now I see that TFSource says it is a case of 8. Which is correct? If BBTS honors their price on a case of 8, then it's a steal.

IF Legends prime is 3 inches tall then I measured a rough 8 inches for fort max. 1/2 inch less for good measure. He's voyager.

I got and built the kit yesterday. overall it's a fabulous little toy, but beware there's some difficult point to build. you better prepare exacto knife along with nipper.

fyi: the face is molded. so if you have enough skill, you can paint the face and it will looks much better.

I just got the WFC Prime wave in less than a week. And that was with free shipping, usually the cheapest/slowest option possible.

Wait... he comes with a tiny Powerglide and Windcharger? I had missed that before on the toy images. God damn it. I was all set to pass on this guy, as I find the Kabaya kits kinda irritating, but those teeny minibots sold me on it.

I hope Reprolabels makes a set of stickers to fit this one.. I know they have them for the KO mini max but dont think they will fit this one so hope they make a new set, maybe some new face stickers and stuff for the bots since the paper ones dont look all that great..

If it is actually 5 per case I will sell my 2 extras for $10.50 each plus shipping. If it is 8 per case I imagine the price will go up (BBTS preorder) so I can't quote a price on that scenario just yet.

5 per case seems...very odd.

It really is 5 per box with 8 boxes to a master case. I don't know why Kabaya does these dumb box assortments. Would it really kill them to just do two full sets in a box?

Anyway, I'll have them available in sets of 3 for $27 plus shipping.

cool---except for the rediculously oversized sword. I cannot comprehend the oversized weapons that seem to be all the rage. Right up there with see through robots.

That being said, I'd like to get it, but I need to be guaranteed the boxes I buy have the right pieces in them!

TFSource 8 pack master case is 2 dollars cheaper then BBTS case of 5 if you go by per box price total. (comes out to 9 dollars a box at bbts and 8.75 per box at tfsource).

The master case isnt 8 boxes though, its 40 pieces (cases) in the master case acording to TFsources page. And each of those 40 they say have 8 boxes per case which is wrong. Its been posted many times that its 5 boxes per case.
Maybe the person that took the pics here can tell us how many boxes were in his case ?
