Courtesy of Alfes 2010's blog, we now have a vast in-hand gallery of the recently released Super GT GT-R Prime and GT-R Saber (who are both retools of the first Alternity Convoy mold, as are the others in the line as well) with shots of their vehicle and robot modes, comparisons with the Alternity Convoy mold and galleries of their out-of-scale Microman-esque Race Queen companions that are bundled together with each Super GT release. Take the jump to view the galleries.

Plastic tires. Hmmm.

I'm really looking forward to seeing if he has as much diecast as Alternity Convoy. That's part of the reason I'm holding back at the moment.

They don't look plastic to me.
Knightdramon
Maybe I'm wrong, but they look like it to me.

Looks really nice. The original Alternity Prime is a good mold, but I feel this one is way way way way cooler!

About the tires: I actually don't give a damn whether they're rubber or plastic, but looking at this close-up:
http://blog-imgs-59.fc2.com/h/i/g/hi...4091508d11.jpg
I see a very harsh reflection on the inside of the tire, suggesting it's a hard plastic.
opt1musaber
I'm really liking Saber. If only his price wasn't too high.
PoweredConvoy
More Photos and some comparisons with Alternity Convoy.

Car mode parts are all entirely new as far as I can tell. It's only the robot bits minus the head that are old.

Are the legs of those little figures removed to have them seated in alt mode?
Knightdramon
Figures are out of scale with the cars so in order to fit, I think only the upper chest portion with the head can remain.

Any comment on these blogs about how much die-cast is there? Alternity Convoy was VERY generous in that regard, but since they replaced almost all of the outer car shell I get the feeling they may have toned it down or even eliminated it.

I'm sure this is just the collector playing around with a way to fit the GT-Sisters in the car, and not actually in the directions or anything. Since they're 1/18th (?) scale and the GT Cars are 1/32nd scale.

I hope so! GTR Prime is too top-heavy!

How many times can they sell the same mold and ppl still are interested? They are almost Barbie's now.

The cars are hawt, no doubt about it. The bot modes are a bit overly cluttered due to all the sponsor logos and additional molded kibble though, but still not bad. As for the tires, I'm hoping they're rubber but them lacking any treads is consistent with race track cars.

A shame they're out of scale with the Racing Queens (if the GT bot cars were 1/24 scale instead of 1/32 they would probably look better), who seem just decent now that we have a closer look at them. The girls have some odd proportion issues, such as overly thick necks (the red one suffers from this in particular, the blue one at least has a collar to hide this somewhat) which makes them look a tad more masculine than intended, I think, that and combined with the thick/marshmallowy sculpting of the limbs (iGear's MT Delicate Warrior suffers from this too). The pictures of the girls inside the cars are hilarious, haha.

That said, as neat as these two are, I'm going to pass (I already have a normal Red Convoy and I don't care much for Star Saber) and wait for Megatron and Fort Max since I like their molds/color decos and Racing Queens much better.
Turnman
You have to remove the legs to fit the girls in the car???? Why did they even bother to make them if they are a different scale?

These dolls are just unneeded extra costs.

They were never intended to fit in the car.

Still look rubber to me. Just the difference between street tires and racing slicks.

As for teh cars, these look really neat but are way out of my price range for a "neat to have".

WANT both...

Epic Saber is Epic.

wow! that's an awesome, awesome price! jelly!

Eh, as much as I desire Saber atm, I have no issues and can be patient for them to pop up on Mandarake Japan's web shop for a cut price.
Stepper
Star Sabre's head sculpt is really tempting me to get one.

Yup screw paying BBTS $115 before shipping for these. The exchange rate is much better now. I also have Megatron and Maximus on pre-order for $80 before shipping at HLJ.
Stepper
HLJ is offering such an incredible price, what the.....

Got mine for $76 shipped from HLJ. I did have a 10% discount due to a faulty figure a while back so that probably explains most of the difference.

HLJ rocks. I've put in GTR Saber in the 'Private Warehouse' order and locked it in for at least 60 days. Then, when I decide to ship it, the order will be processed and sent out! So awesome.
saberconvoy
I need that starsaber
KenjaminLinus
I wanted to want these so badly, but the dinky arms just ruin the mold for me
optics
I like the first one better.
liquid6
i have the maximus on preorder....might have to get these two as well
harrismonkey
I hope I'm wrong, but I keep looking at the pictures and thinking that red body looks like plastic instead of the paint the line is known for.

It's definitely paint.

ATTENTION: This is rumor control.

I got my GT-R Prime and GT-R Saber delivered today, and have just opened them up.
The tires are rubber. The exterior body is painted. Significant parts of the figure are die-cast, just as they were on the previous iterations of this mold. These cars have significant weight to them, and the various sponsor logos are all impeccably tampographed on mine. I have no QC issues to report at present.

That is all.
opt1musaber
Ok, I think I might finally get this mould, Saber come to me.

I pray that HLJ will process my order as that's the cheapest place left :/

Perfect. Maximus, at the very least, is mine!! Thanks for the report!

Thanks, tekering, that's all I needed to know! Glad I have one of these beauts in storage of sorts...

Wow,rubber tires is sure one good news for me,hopefully the rubber are of good quality & will not crack like the RID Ultra Magnus.
opt1musaber
well I'll be damned, HLJ processed my preorder and I only preordered a few hours ago....I wasn't expecting to be successful
Stepper
Isn't that suppose to be good news for you,why are you damned, haha
opt1musaber
Ye, I got burned by them when I preordered the MP tapes, so I thought this might be the same

same here....I put it in the 'Private Warehouse'...so technically...I give the orders when to ship it, but I didnt pay shipping cost! And yet somehow they have processed my order..! huh? so, does that mean it wont reach me?

edit: never mind, paid the shipment cost and it's on it's way!
opt1musaber
Maybe you pay shipping when you want it shipped? I have no idea how they work. I opted for ship when available, so I paid upfront immediately after receiving email requesting payment.

My first experience with this mold, better be good.

Sure hope that the head mold for Fort Max look great too but i still can't really accept the overall "greenish" of Fort Max body.
opt1musaber
Has anyone received shipping notice from HLJ yet?
