CM's Corp has updated their website with in package and in hand photos of their upcoming Wonderfest exclusive version of Guttu Kuru Minerva (Minelba). This exclusive will be available at the upcoming Summer Wonderfest convention and comes with in an exclusive yellow and blue deco based on the Nightbeat version of the character.

I saw the preorder for it go up on BBTS last week, I think, but these are the first in-hand pics I've seen.

I know it wouldn't have been accurate, but man, this figure would have looked so much nicer with dark brown hair. While the blonde hair looks fine on the standard version, on this one all that yellow just sort of bleeds together. Since Minerva-Nightbeat was only a mail-order deal and didn't (as far as I know) have an on-screen appearance, why not have her go brunette?

Besides, if you're looking for this toy, it would be a real bummer if you couldn't get it with its limited release because you kept searching under the wrong name

Just because it says "Minelba" on the box, doesn't mean it's correct. There are plenty of mis-transliterations on boxes for Japanese toys and figures. This is no exception. That name drives me nuts, too, for the record.

Also, I like the look of this and kind of want it, but I don't really want to pay the price for a figure that I'm not all in on. I have the original, and she's a nice figure, but still very flawed, I think. I'll probably keep my money for any GSC Wonderfest exclusive that they put up on their website for me to buy, because I'm sure that'd be more worth it for me.
