Figure King January 2013 Edition Scans

Courtesy of toy-world.com.hk wehave scans from the Japanese hobby magazine Figure King for January 2013. There's not a tremendous amount of new and exciting material within - there's a look at the upcoming Transformers Prime Wildrider, Frenzy and Rumble figures as well as the Arms Micron five packs, Masterpiece Soundwave, Rumble and Ravage, Japanese Generations Combaticons and Animation style Encore Devastator. All items we have seen plenty of lately. What is interesting though for Bot Shots fans are some Japan-only BeCool releases including a green Jazz, a yellow "Rescue" Ratchet and an orange-brown Megatron. Don't read too much into these though - BeCool is not being marketed as a Transformers series, so these might be mere recolors for the sake of looking cool.

That button brings the second and third cassettes forward after the first has been ejected.

eventually. but for now i'm gonna start with the two i need: Onslaught and Swindle. my SDCC Swindle has a broken tab so this one will be a backup in case the other tab breaks (i intend to make a shapeways upgrade for him soon) and i can't pass up an Onslaught this good. i may get the others when there's a restock

The way that guy hold FMax box, it looked very small as though it's about the same size as MP4/9 box. Since FMax is almost 2 feet, I was so sure his box would be much,much bigger....

It's a 試作サンプル(shisaku sanpuru) aka prototype sample figure.

That Wildrider is looking good, but not enough to warrant a purchase. Everything else is disappointing as always.

i saw a hasbro fortmax box recently and am pretty sure it was quite a lot bigger, maybe the japan version had a smaller box? or maybe for economy of space they are packing him in a compacted state.
in the reissue with a smaller box.

I think the fort max box is big as it should be, if it is a smaller box,maybe the packaged it in city mode to save on packaging costs?

oh crap, I've just seen the one thing i don't like about MP Soundwave..

the shoulder launcher weapon does not rest on his shoulder when deployed, it's mounted way high on the thingy that makes it rotate forward from his back!

Seeing as we've seen other pictures where it's flush against his shoulder, I'm pretty sure it can be pushed down.

I know not everyone's a fan of the FOC Bruticus toys, but those pictures are a whole lot more flattering than Hasbro's. Still the same figure, but much less Kool-Aid-man.

I am also curious about the brown Fort Max. [Edit: Ah, prototype/test. Cool. I have one on preorder, wouldn't have gone for the alternate colors anyway, but was curious.]
