Unless thats just a stand in photo, I see no paint apps/tampos on Fort Max.....so, maybe we are "bringing back 87" in a big way....we will be putting stickers on that guy...hopefully that pic was taken before the paint apps to the eyes were done ......but there is the Master Sword!!!!

Much agreed.....while I appreciate the nostalgic aspect of putting stickers on, I actually don't enjoy it...because I never get them quite right.....lol...oh well...maybe this isn't the final final version...though we are getting kind of close to when we would be seeing photos of the final product, so....oh well..Im still pumped!

Takara probably figured, "ok guys...you wanted Fort Max for Encore line? We aren't going to make it easy for you...no Tampos...get your ass to work!"

I remember spending a whole evening stickering up Fort Max as a kid and enjoying the process.

I really hope there aren't any tampos or pre-applied stickers on Fort Max. This is a grail for me that I've been anticipating for a long time and I want the complete experience of putting the stickers on, correctly, myself. And this figure is expensive enough, so I'd rather not have the added expense of buying a Reprolabels set to replace pre-applied stickers and cover tampos.

Forget the experience. I want him to look great and not have any peeling stickers in 10-15 years.

This is my hope, too.

Maybe the real toy have the tampographs. Our hopes aren't destroyed until we see the real toy!

The article mentions that Encore Fort Max will have cardboard inner packaging like Car Robots Brave Max.

It also mentions that GT-R Maximus will have a new head design which is yet to be revealed.

So freaking excited for the masterpiece cassettes. They look amazing. Nice touch to see that Rumbles weapons can store in the pile drivers and not just Soundwaves feet. And Maximums looks so.. bland without his decorative stickers.. interesting.

That confirms Fortress Maximus master sword.

I have lost my hope/excitement for the Prime line, and I don't like the upcoming beast themed thing going on. Although I do understand I'm not the target audience of it.

As Fort Max is one of my favorite characters (thanks to marvel), I'll probably get the GT Max if the head looks good.

I agree with this but I think the stickers are unavoidable. The best solution, imo, would be if reprolabels does (or already has) a set right away so I can buy that (or a couple sets) out of the gate and hang onto the original stickers for later.

I agree. As soon as stickers start peeling it makes you want to rip it off and apply new ones

On a side note, I've been planning from day one to paint the eyes myself. No sticker for that, thank you. Even applied as carefully and correctly as humanly possible, I don't think the Max eye stickers look good.

I still think they could have done better on the MP tapes other than laker beak, who is a, well, masterpiece.
The fact that the piledrivers are pretty much maiden Japan's design doesn't help. And with that, all bought.

I've been perfectly happy with my old Fort Max, but am mighty tempted to get a new, 100% complete (I'm missing a few smaller parts) and non yellowed (just a touch, not bad) one.

The stickers would be hell, but would make for a fun evening with a few link minded friends. Maybe a livestream.

I am fine with apply Fort max's stickers myself, that said i'd not complain about tampographs although that seems a bit unlikely now.

I doubt that is a final pic of Fort Max. EVERY Encore to this point has had tempos, I doubt this will be different

I sure as hell hope so. I certainly understand why stickers appeal to some folks. But this is freaking Fort Max we're talking about here. Dude's on a WHOLE other level by himself when it comes to stickers. I understand why some people would enjoy applying them, but I'd rather have a Max fresh out of the box with professionally applied tampos. Especially the problematic ones, like his eyes.

if fort max is all stickered then so be it, a pair of fine forceps makes the job a lot easier and more accurate!! Im very tempted by FM, but i really have to wait for a review, if hes at the quality of say sixshot or godginrai (which IMO feel like a real G1 toy) i'll be happy, if he has that light plastic feel with any loose joints i might ignore.

i know some cassettes had tampos but in the main i thought encore had stickers???

According to the text, there's a good possibility of having the Styrofoam box insert back for Fort Max. Cool.

Text says Tomy is investigating about whether they'll use cardboard or styrofoam for the inner box, amongst other things.

For this release, I really hope they go with styrofoam for the simple fact that unlike Brave Max who had no accessories, Fort Max comes with a ton of accessories, and we don't want that stuff flopping around the box during shipping.

FMax, if it's Styrofoam, I'm keeping the box just for the sake of nostalgia. As for stickers vs. tampograph, if it's the G1 Reissue, I always favor sticker again because nostalgia. All other lines give me tampograph any day.

Frenzy/Rumble brother, they look awesome to me. It's a plus that both of their guns can also be store inside the pile drivers in addition to Soundwave himself. Definitely a plus. Ravage looks okay and may even a let down. I don't like how they design his rear portion of the leg.

TG-11 FOC UM, I really love that cyan-blue color on him. Also the blue eyes is a plus too. He'll be in my collection in addition to my current Hasbro version.

Tampographs on those FortMax ramps would certainly last better than stickers would. and his companion accessories would look a bit better with a splash of paint on them.

If they release him as is you might as well buy a junker body and some repro labels for me the only reason to buy such an expensive toy twice is if it's better than the 80's one in some way.

Now I can't say I really needed to run out after the 3rd version of Predaking but they did at least try to improve it over the original.

For Fort Max a little paint would help brighten him up a bit - if they don't want to bother then maybe they can find some other way like giving you a bonus sticker sheet with labels that fit inside the compartments (for example) so you not greeted by blank plastic when you open a hatch or put him in city mode.

Tampographs on the areas likely to rub would be super though for sure especially the shoulders and the ramps.

Perhaps water slide labels or something like that might be a better idea for the ramps. maybe even labels that work like T-shirt transfer that you heat up with a cool hairdryer and they adhere strongly and tightly to the surface. or those very thin vinyl labels. But foil Back stickers are a terrible idea on an uneven surface they hide the detail and they wear out.

They're the exact same weapons as we got. I want that kickback...

Still have no idea whether TVG comes with two microns or not. In the bot mode pics it sort of looks like there's another Igu on the wing, but can't say for sure since the pic is too small.

I was sort of meh towards the MP cassettes, but I have to say they are really starting to look pretty darn good. Okay ravage has some odditites with the cassette bits on his back legs, but that's forgivable considering how the rest of him looks. Now hopefully Takara makes Ratbat, Overkill and Slugfest.

Really want to see protos of the actual Alternity GT-R Fort Max figure and his Racing Queen instead of the same promo art over and over again (I do find the colors and designs more appealing than red Convoy and blue Star Saber, Racing Queens included).

Darkest Megatron is still a huge disappointment. I'd rather just grab the third party add-on with the Prime arm and Dark Star Saber and put that on a stock RiD Megatron. Vehicon General I'll probably grab three of those to represent Starscream's mini brigade.

Tampographs or not that Fortress Maximus is going to be awesome.

I would be tempted to suggest to people to buy an Arms Micron for Megatron to sit on his vehicle mode even if he's not supposed to use it in robot mode.

I wonder if Takara will ever do something to offer to retailers or the public some replacement crystals for all the times they provided the wrong one (especially the previous Crocodile Micron).

It's something I'd like to ask them but they no longer answer English e-mail and I'm not sure they'd answer English tweets either.

The GT series TFs will come with an out of scale Microman figure of their respective race queens. It's part of the reason why they're so expensive.
