Oh man!!! He finally looks perfect!
Now I know why I didn't get any other version of Devastator earlier (except the EZ Legends RotF Devastator). I was sort of on the fence, but just pre-ordered him. Purple mixing drum, new head, purple windows on Hook's crane... SWEET!
If Hook's crane-hook faces outwards again like on the G1... That would the be icing on the cake.

Looks good...I have the first encore release of this with the CD addons and Green Giant and am still compelled to grab this, but it's not a necessity. I don't need it. There's too many other things coming out that are far better.

No, it's far away from the G2 yellow.

Why does all this amazing stuff have to come out all at the same time. I wish I could hit the lotto because I would love this! By the time I can afford it, I will have to pay second hand scalper prices for it!!

Looks great. I got the first Encore Devastator release but I might still get this one at some point.

When I preordered Encore Devastator, it looked like this... then they switched them on me. I'd be REALLY pissed if not for the fact that I got a new Devastator.

I'm a sucker for pretty much everything G1 but this? I really don't need this barely-there remold/repaint...

The new head is good but the yellowish green looks crap. Pass.

That is a devilishly clever way to "reissue." Not for me though, don't like Devastator enough to pay what the sucker costs.

One question is if they were going to put extra effort in why not put the window inserts back in longhaul or the leg split in Mixmaster. ?

It's not a matter of putting them back in, as entirely retooling the figures / creating new pieces for such.

As the photo you linked to isn't a variation of the original tooling but a prototype that was heavily altered before being finalized on and then having the molds created from what we've been getting since 1984.

So for all intents in purposes, those parts never existed on the figures released.

You can always open it for display, then put it back in the box once you get Giant.

some 3rd party/custom-maker needs to sell one like this for Green Giant

to replace the derpy head. And while they're at it, paint the back of the head (Hook's foot) green and use clear red for the visor.

It'll be in next year's version.

This looks great... I was thinking of getting the old Encore 20 and JB-07 but now I'm not sure.

Does anyone have any in-hand photos of how the colours on the new Encore 20A match up with the upgrades from CD or JB?

Basically I like the new 20A but want the upgrades to go with it. Any recommendations welcome
