Here's something cool for you to take a look at if the current Beast Hunters line just isn't your cup of tea. The E-Hobby and Transformers Collectors Club shared exclusive VS-E set has been released, and 2005 Boards member Masabon has it in-hand! The set takes Generation 1 toys Soundwave, Blaster and their cassettes Ramhorn, Eject, Rewind, Ratbat and Slugfest and redecos them as their Shattered Glass counterparts - the first Generation 1 toys to receive such treatment.

The set is out now in Japan, and hopefully that means those who ordered the set through the Transformers Collector's Club will also be able to lay hands on their very own set soon.

In the meantime, ease the pain of the wait by reading on and checking out Masabon's pictures!

So Solarbot is a Heroic Decepticon, that's interesting... I had thought he was from the "regular" universe, I guess maybe he's allied with the good guys in the SG universe since he(she?) got there.

This don't deserve the 'VS' tag imo. These are just made up characters? The VS sets were all actual G1 characters. Don't like the colours too.

They wanted to repaint Soundwave and Blaster again in new colors. They already reissued Blaster, Twincast, Soundwave and Soundblaster. So what do they do? Turn to Shattered Glass.

Only Rewind, Ramhorn and Solarbot are new to Shattered Glass. The color schemes for Blaster, Soundwave, Slugfest and Ratbat have existed for a few years now, created without expectation that they would one day become actual toys.

Man, seeing all those pics is almost making me reconsider my decision to pass........but then I look at the price, and its easy to un-reconsider. Gorgeous for sure (especially soundwave).......maybe if they were just a little more reasonably priced.........

Because the Microchange line they both originated from predated the character scale used in Transformers fiction. That, and Blaster was designed to include electronics since his Microchange toy was a working radio.

They are both from earlier lines (microchange), which was part of the micro man toyline. Anyways, alt mode scale trumped robot scales.

Also if they were the same scale in robot mode, Blaster's cassettes would be tiny compared to Soundwave's.
