I have the Universe Ratbat from the Cybertron Sideways mold, which I'm rather fond of. Never even considered how appropriate the Gen. Scourge mold would be. I like it!

Takara FOC Grimlock isn't looking nearly as bling as some of us might have expected.

Grimlock is probably nearly painted head to toe / uses metallic plastics if Takara FoC Optimus is any indication.

I love Ratbat and that paint looks great, but the mold isn't really speaking to me. Urgh, that sounds pretentious.

I realize RotF Skystalker's already been redecoed several times, including into fellow cassetticon Laserbeak, but I've always thought he'd be a perfect Ratbat. So I can't help but feel that they missed the mark here. Still, that's just me.

So what ever happened to the rumored Takara Hardhead and Reflector figures? Does anyone remember what their designation was? In other words were they supposed to come out before these two?

I am all about that Ratbat. Senator Ratbat robot form that will probably look pretty close to his appearance in Megatron: Origins? Sign me the hell up!

I think Hardhead was based on Warpath or Darkmount's mold, while Reflector was off the Frenzy/Rumble? I could be wrong.

Yes, you do need a classics Ratbat based on Scourge's mold because it's AWESOME.

Eh... I'm doubting they are. I just don't see Hasbro doing it. There would have been at least a mention of it. Seems to be a growing trend of Japan-only figures. Hasbro didn't even release a Skywarp to go along with DOTM Starscream and Thundercracker. I think FoC Skywarp as well as Generations Ratbat will be Japan-only.

Lovely bit of lateral thinking for that Scourge mold. Not to my tastes, but very clever.

Hardhead was supposed to use the Warpath mold (the alt-head was even in the instructions) and Reflector was rumored to be based on the RTS Perceptor mold (this was mentioned at the Botcon where Perceptor was first unveiled to the public). I remember seeing news that a Takara solicitation had the two listed but to date I don't know that any place has a pre-order up and no actual images have appeared.

I kind of wonder is that even Takara's or are they just using Hasbro's as a placeholder pic. Main reason for saying that is because I don't see any difference between the two and it's not on that white BG like most other Takara reveals are.

That ratbat though HNGGG gotta start saving now. Missed out on universe not missing this bad boy.

I love how Ratbat is going to tower over the other Generations figures from this year.

They were listed as United releases along with a United Shockwave.

It's very possible they're Asia only releases (not in Japan) like the other recent United releases (except for Artfire) like the Seeker sets, Ultra Magnus, and the Bruticus Maximus redeco.
