Kind of the point no? This has done them well so far.

If you're going to redeco a figure as a promotion for your clothing store, what better one than the original G1 Convoy.

A G1 convoy?? We can jolly well use MP01 mold or MP10 mold which is also can be a good representative for G1 Convoy

I'm curious about this too. I could bat back a few answers to Steppers queries of why they keep using the original G1 Optimus Prime mold, that might be moot if the other two molds shown get used at some stage. A translation would be greatly appreciated but I won't hold my breath.

The red colour scheme doesn't seem as loud - in these photos - as I might have otherwise thought. I only own the green camouflage version and to mea at least, that one pops visually.

Hopefully, it has something to do with the rumored re-issue.

I think it mentions a display at one of the stores of the first 5 leaders in G1, which would be Optimus, Rodimus, Fortress Maximus, God Ginrai, and Star Saber. So perhaps that's why they show those 3.

A green cab & green trailer redeco. Sure. It was different and overall cool looking.
A grey cab & grey trailer redeco. Still pretty cool looking.

From the pictures this new red version is just the trailer being red. Seems a tad pointless. All blue would have been neat but that would have infringed upon at least Powered Convoy's cab.

Green was awesome.
Grey was good.
Red just looks too much like the OG Optimus IMHO.

I'd dig having a G1 Prime in a camo deco, but I don't see myself shelling out the money for it. I dunno, maybe one day.

They should have done orange. We had a fire guts version, but never a G1 cab in orange.

Really dug the green Camo but wasn't able to get a hold of any. The gray Camo was alright. May pick it up if it goes cheaper. Idk about the red Camo.

I wouldn't mind a black/gold or gold/black version, to play off of some of the other black Optimus redecos (Black Big Convoy, Dark Guard Optimus, Amazon JP RotF Optimus).

This is Bape we are talking about, they like to make funky color ways and use loud colors or urban camo.

About the pictures of Rodimus and Star Saber, and the battle scene: Those aren't hints at releases (which doesn't deny the possibility of a re-issue, it's just that those have no relation whatsoever with re-issues or exclusives.)

At the beginning of the page there is an announcement of an event taking place at the Shinjuku Bape store next May 23 until April 4, where they will be showing 5 selected original artwork sheets, and a display of the 27 years of Transformers in which other Autobot commanders will be shown too. (The pictures of Rodimus and Star Saber are shown as examples of other commanders)
It also says that at the Shibuya store they will be displaying a 2 meters tall Optimus Prime statue.

If any of the board members from Tokyo can get there and take some pictures for us that would be nice

If they do a BAPE Magnus in funky colors I'm totally in. I'd just use it as the "G2 Magnus that never was (well, outside of that eHobby Laser Magnus release, of course)" like I'll use the SG Soundwave/Blaster set whenever I get around to picking that up.

Raped wallet mode. I don't see the appeal in any of these bape figures and even more so for their prices.

It may be because of the interval between the green and grey BAPE Convoys but your (and many other fan's) opinion on this seems to be reflected in the after market prices. I bought the green version off ebay last year, weighing getting a cheap one against building a surplus of savings, and it still put my collecting into slow motion for a couple of months.

I don't think it looks that bad, it does remind me of the red Music Label Prime. That said, I don't know why BAPE doesn't go with the obvious choice and put out an exclusive Optimus Primal, that one's a match made in heaven!
