Thanks to forum members osenator and daimchoc (for dropping a heads up), we have a few new looks at some of the Cyber 11″ figures. There are new videos of both Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. Plus osenator shared some images of the Bubmblebee. See the vids below and the pics by reading on.
Shin Densetsu
Thanks for looking for them! Afaik I haven't heard of them being out yet either. Itching to know how their(7") articulation is.
Shepard Prime
Especially since outside of the knees, you can bust out almost any pose you can think of since the rest surprisingly is articulated (full arm articulation, torso–due to the transformation but still–and range of motion for the legs).
As a kid, I would've loved this. Op is big, articulated enough and, tho' I see people saying he's simple looking, the lack of paint is really killing the detail that is there. There's a ton of detail on that front grill in truck mode, you just can't see it because the paint isn't bringing it out.
As far as BB goes, if they'd release that fig in deluxe I'd be all over it.

Sadly, I was unable to find the 7 inches, as they are not released it seem yet. I search every stores I could
even a Walmart, in 2 big cities. I am coming back to Canada this week. I will ask my Brazilian family to look out for them.
THEY MERGE!!!!!
Not really, but I tried (L)….
Shin Densetsu
These definitely aren't mainline, we aren't even sure if they are going to be brought to US retailers. It seems like these are targeted towards emerging markets.
As far as replacements for flip/twist-n-change figures, that's what they definitely seem like to me but I'm not sure. The Flip/twist-n-change AOE cars looked cool to me but just needed leg articulation. Had those and these had leg/knee articulation I would definitely buy them.
SG Roadbuster
i'm 29. when I was a wee bugger the original g1 transformers were kinda neat, but you know what sunk me head over heels with the Franchise? BEAST WARS. finally Transformers with articulation equal to the other action figure lines I enjoyed. and back then they struck an almost perfect balance between puzzle and action figure. seriously compare a Beast Wars basic to an aoe One Step Changer. the 19 year old toy not only has a simple transformation, but is a fairly well articulated toy to boot.
i've never understood the "its for children so it's ok to be garbage" argument. children are not stupid. my 4 year old nephew can work an ipad better than my 60 year old father.
and on the subject of ipads. is dumbing down their flagship franchise really how Hasbro expects to compete with the tablet and/or video game market?
now if these are indeed the replacements for the flip-n-change/hyperchange or the generations variation therof, my vitiol will be greatly reduced. if these are intended to be a mainline. torch-n-pitchfork time
Smasher
These are way better than Titans and that junk.
I could totally see kids playing with these. They're big and sturdy and reasonably well detailed.
I just wish they had knees.
I also wish the video had been made horizontally. LOL
The best time to take video vertically is NEVER!
Shin Densetsu
After watching osenator's reviews I've come to the realization that these MAY be an outgrowth of the AOE twist-n-change/flip-n-change figures. These are the same price point($19.99) and seem to be roughly the same size.
With that said, for a gimmick toy-line featuring quick transformation aimed at a younger audience, I think these are a step in the right direction. Back is manual transformation, not a spring loaded gimmick(which was faulty on samples of AOE flip n change Lockdown), yet transformation is simple enough to be accomplished fast. In addition these have better articulation.
Honestly, these are just missing knees. I would LOVE to see more, taking the place of flip/twist-n-change and with knees in the future.
Hollywood Hoist
I'll take one step figures over the 30 step figures where every panel has to line up just right for the figure to transform. Not all kids like or want the puzzle aspect to transformers, as they are action figures, and you know what doesn't scream action? Puzzles.
Hollywood Hoist
What arm snapped off? I'm not sure why this is the worst shit? These are a thousand times better for kids than the movie figures which are great looking figures but terrible toys.
I think kids have a different perspective when it comes to toys then you. My five year old son has played with a lot of my figures from just about every line, he loves the one step figures, really loves Rescue Bots. He doesn't play with my classics figures or movie figures that much as he either can't transform them or it takes to long and when he's acting out a story he doesn't want to spend 5 minutes transforming a figure as it creates too much of a lull in the action.
I get it you're a pissed off adult, frustrated that the toy company is make toys that appeal more towards kids.
Steevy Maximus
Hasbro's not charging that, that's retailer mark up.
A case of 8 from BBTS breaks down to $16.50 or so (and they aren't getting them as cheap as the big 3). So right about the $16.99 they are supposed to cost.
Hasbro can't stop retailers from charging as much for deluxes as they do Voyagers.
Bob 121
But we have hit $20 Hasbro deluxes. There was just a thread about it the other week, wasn't there? I know they're $20 at my targets, walmarts and of course TRU. I think meijer was like $18 and amazon is getting there.
alanyap
We can't speak on behalf of kids anymore because we're no longer one. But we have the capacity to rationalise why TOYS ARE MEANT FOR KIDS all along and its a no brainer.
All the character names thrown in are just Hasbro's way in preventing their trademarks from expiring fron non-usage.
I'd say even Combiner wars are meant for kids , but with decent effort to please older adult fans. We dont see many posting of gratitude when it comes to these, but all hell broke loose becoz of a few TOYS that seemed inferior in the eyes of a 30-something-human.
Steevy Maximus
Actually, we stopped getting figures of that complexity because the cost to make them keeps going up. That's why deluxes aren't $20 (from Hasbro) yet.
REally, the action figure market thrived for almost THIRTY YEARS on figures with little more than 5 POA and a license.
It's like a lot people don't seem to grasp that the shift to "super-articulation as standard" presaged the biggest price jumps with greatest market shrinkage the action figure segment as seen since its inception. I think there IS a valid relationship to that.
Bob 121
I get what you're saying but the MPs are in no way "high end". They definitely are collectors items, but a lot of you think these things go hand in hand.
That said, if we don't buy it, nobody else will, and we'll start to see an overall cost cutting method taken to the extreme and affecting all the lines, regardless of their " target audience". Which is why we no longer get ROTF/HFTD tier transformers on the retail market.
Bumblethumper
I think it looks like something children would have fun with. Have you seen how children play with toys? Compare it with other types of toys out there for that age range and it's way better.
When I think about some of the toys I had without knee articulation growing up – it wasn't a deal-breaker.
Cheebs
I know, right? Children deserve the worst shit. It doesn't matter if the arm is straight up snapped off right in the box. Hell, there doesn't even have to BE a toy in the box. It's for children! They don't care! Message received. We all get it now!
Hollywood Hoist
I'm glad someone gets it.
Afterburner
These had potential if they had simply adhered to the Beast Hunter Voyager standard.
The Deluxes, however, have never been good.
Cheebs
Oh no, wait. It's OK for this to be absolute shit because it's for children. Silly me. I always forget that children deserve and ask for absolute shit.
That makes it all better!
