For our next gallery update, we would like to share with you a look at these cool new Transformers Generations Legends Class two packs. Carrying on in the vein of the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee two packs, this assortment of Generations two packs gave us Legends Class versions of Megatron in his pre-war “miner” design featured in Megatron Origin and Chaos Theory, and Starscream as featured in Transformers Infiltration. They each come with a little Mini-Con sized partner, Chop Shop with Megatron and Waspinator with Starscream, who can transform between robot and insect modes, or form weapons for the larger robots.
Both packs are fantastic and a real demonstration of what Hasbro can do with the size. While Waspinator and Chop Shop are basic, they are nicely detailed and interact well with the main figures in the packs. Starscream is a nice solid jet Transformer, and but for his lack of an articulated neck is effectively a downsized version of the Classics Starscream – a few of the transformation steps differ, but all the articulation is there and the toy’s design as a whole works really well in the scale. Skywarp and Thundercracker two pack please! Megatron equally is a solid little figure, with a nice silhouette and proportions, plus nice action figure style poseability. He has a nifty bit of engineering which lets his arms form the tank turret but still gives the tank turret full 360 degrees of rotation – an impressive achievement. Megatron and Starscream both are spot on to the comics that inspired them, which is all the more impressive considering their small size.
Overall, both of these Legends two packs are worthy additions to any collection. Between the engineering and the attention to detail, they are hard to fault, even more so considering the relatively low pricepoint that the pack is retailing for.

Titanium Megs? As you wish!
Chaos Muffin
Starscream's wing boots look the best on this version. IMO
Megatron's decent, he reminds me of a Titanium Series figure. Barrel could be bigger.

After seeing the garbage that was the Insecticons…I passed on them and will wait for more proper ones to come out
Avon
Thanks! Yep, definitely looking forward to the next assortment too!

Still haven't found the first wave…. Bought once found.

Yeah, probably the weakest thing about him, it's not so bad in tank mode, but it is sometimes a bit jarring in robot mode. If it's an issue though I'm sure Takara-Tomy's will all be in one solid colour.

Dear Third parties please make these 'Legends' toys some Pretender shells –
TA !
This is confusing for some as there is a lot of odd-use of terms like Legion and legends. the term Legends changed to Legion and that is what people may still think of as a Legend – these new toys are actually something more like a Cyberverse Commander or a bit smaller than a scout. they are not the 2..5" scale that used to be called Legends.
It's even more confusing that that though as the previous use of Legends was for the data Disc toys so the scale applies there to something around about the size of two legions – so recently the scale of legends was essentially a legion twin pack (remember those Movie legion/legends twin packs they made – sort of like that).
So now what they have done is say that for example a legion is cost and size wise about the same as 2 legions = 2/3rds of a cyberverse commander to make a toy that is a cyberverse commander scale but that is price wise akin to two legions – they took a toy a bit bigger than a legion and a toy a bit smaller and made that a twin pack – to bring it up to the price point lets say $10 / £10 price for sake of argument – in UK terms that's a £7.00 (8.00) Cyberverse Commander and a £3.00 (2.00) Minicon/targetmaster = 10
Where as before it was two legion class = 10ish or two auto-transforming but still more or less legionish toys = 10.
I would in many ways see these as like the Human Alliance or Powercore combiners toys were they took a £7.00 scout and added a 2 or 3 pound mini-figure to make it nearly up to deluxe or actually the slightly below deluxe price of 9.99
These ones are still 9.99 or so but they represent slightly less good value than a scout class PCC or HA toy as they are a fair bit smaller i'd say. But that is the idea behind them I guess.
They can't really call them Cyberverse Commanders though as the extra mini-figure changes the cost profile and also they don't have uniform 3mm hand holes either. but they are also to small to call them a scout.
So I guess there isn't actually a proper scale name at all for this size – unless you wanted to see them as akin to a G2 Cyberjet or something like that.
I actually might argue they represent a new scale we have never really had before if you separate the minifigure from the main toy.

I didn't realize Megatron had unpainted plastic.

I never cared for Legends class figures much. I bought a few a few years ago of characters that didn't have an updated toy. Now that I own Metroplex though, I'm tempted to buy a bunch of them.

Easily on a par I'd say – Starscream has similar articulation to Bumblebee, but a bit more freedom of movement on his joints. He really does have but for the head the same amount of articulation as the Classics Seeker mold. Megatron is nice and stable, similar articulation with the added bonus of head articulation as well. Feels nice and solid and everything clips in on both – none of the stuff like Optimus' chest not locking in.
Overall I really like them, Hasbro really nailed the look with these, they are handsome figures who display well and make good toys too. I liked the Bumblebee / Optimus assortment, but Megatron and Starscream really improve on the concept. Looking forward to the next ones like Swerve and Tailgate even more now

Awesome… how do these two compare to the previous bumblebee and (particularly) Prime, articulation/stability/overall?
Sol Fury
I actually tried that with BW Waspinator – no luck since his fist holes were smaller. I'm doing it with the Deluxe for sure!
Optimus1138
Some of these new Legends figures are actually looking pretty good. I might pick up a few.

I only just thought of that when looking at the images. We're going to have a character that can wield himself as a weapon, all within one line.
This'll be glorious.

Does Generations Waspinator have standard sized peg hands? Would love to get Screamer and have Waspinator as a Targetmaster with himself
knightmare6
The Waspinator and Chop Shop be tiny little cuties!
Pathosis
Megatron is slightly smaller than me! I, Starscream am now your leader!
