Our latest Transformers Generations toy gallery is now online! Available for your enjoyment today is a look at Transformers Generations Autobot Whirl, who has just started to arrive at US retail.
Autobot Whirl is a great release in the Voyager class. He is a very Generation 1-faithful update complete with stickers to reproduce all the Generation 1 stickered details, but if you dislike stickers, he looks perfectly good without them.
Articulation is good, Whirl has some excellent movement in his shoulders and elbows. His hips and knees also boast some good articulation but take note that the upper hinge on the silver part of the legs is extremely stiff out of the box.
Those who dislike the Movie aesthetic might be disappointed to see that Whirl has “chicken legs”, though they suit the design and are accurate to the More than Meets the Eye comic. Also accurate to the comic is the head design, which is a very pleasing touch.
Whirl comes with a small arsenal of weapons including two missile pods, triple barreled machine gun and a Nul-Ray cannon. Each weapon has a selection of posts and C-clip connectors, allowing you to attach them to Whirl’s different modes and arrange his weapons loadout however you desire.
Overall Whirl is a nice, fun toy. He has three modes to transform into, including an intermediate “heloped” mode, which itself can be arranged with the robot arms deployed or folded away. The helicopter cockpit opens as well, in another nice tough. He’s out now at retail, and well deserving of a purchase, especially for those who are fans of the More than Meets the Eye comic book where Whirl has a starring role. Take a look at the gallery, linked below, to see for yourself.

Sorry about that, didn't know this was a collection gallery. I thought it was a reference for the site, like TFU.info.
I was just looking for proper locations for stickers as the instructions are unclear for some, and this was the first thread that popped up for me when I searched "Autobot Whirl stickers"
Dinobot747
I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
This too.
Sol Fury
I personally liked how Whirl looked without stickers, and I figured since he would be in my collection once the gallery was done, better to keep him how I personally like him.
One of the other photo staff may pick up Whirl themselves, and if they do, they might well add some stickered pics to "complete" the gallery. Though I personally feel the gallery is complete in terms of showing off all the poseability and features the toy has to offer.

I'm not a fan of Whirl's character in MTMTE but I'm liking this toy the more I see it

No stickers? You guys should have pics with and without stickers. the gallery is somewhat incomplete, especially since the stickered one is the "official" version.
DarthusPrime
someone do a digibash of this Blackout STAT
rosewater
Thanks. Now I'm going to be saying everything is "killer awesome". Love it.
Stepper
This is such a great, excellent toy, a very good representation of the character

This. More homages to one of the coolest designs in the movie would certainly be appreciated. A Blackout from Whirl would look killer awesome with the other Voyager Blackouts.
Sol Fury
I figure a new head, maybe redo the forearms, and make him a Classics style Movie Blackout.
The other possible is Rotorstorm, but to pull that off, Hasbro would need to redo the arms, legs and head. Legs mainly to get more "normal" legs and feet, the rest would be self-explanatory.
Roadblock1977
This is certainly a lost art, along with die-cast metal. I might actually consider getting WHIRL and ROADBUSTER, partially because of this.
Autovolt 127
repaint it as Shockwave.
Bass X0
Who should Whirl be remolded into?
DarkEyes
I am gonna quote myself, the funny part is that you actually did but just only got one word.
Do it again, Im sure you can do it!
Kungfu Dinobot
It's not the chicken legs they are angry about.
It's the "Bayformer contamination" of a G1 character that's riling them up
H.E.X.-BRAVE
also most people don't even know along with Roadbuster was originally a Takatoku toys piloted mech suits for the anime Dorvack, same with Jetfire who is a Macross mecha
these people seem to cringe at the sight of reverse jointed legged robots in the same manner as Star Wars walkers/droids & variants of Armored Core legs units…..
DarkEyes
I do not understand the hate, this is a great representation of the G1 character.
And what abot the chicken legs? Whirl without chicken legs is not Whirl!
If you dont like this figure, you dont like the G1 one.
Kungfu Dinobot
That is quite possibly the only reason anyone can have a problem with this toy.
H.E.X.-BRAVE
i guess he only appeals to the mecha genre robot fans in general, not Transformers fans, who want their character to have the same humanoid layout wearing a cardboard machine parts costume……..
Kungfu Dinobot
Not if you are a middle-aged manchild whom got assaulted by a time-travelling Michael Bay
