We’re back with another new Transformers toy gallery! Presented here for your viewing pleasure is a look at the upcoming Generations Armada Starscream, a part of the Generations 2014 Deluxe assortment.
Armada Starscream is, as the name implies, a very nicely crafted homage to the original Transformers Armada Starscream, who was a breakout character with great development in the Transformers Armada series. This version of Armada Starscream is a deluxe, rather than the “Max-Con” Voyager sized original. While he’s considerably smaller, Generations Armada Starscream is very well realized – he has excellent poseability that let him strike all manner of awesome poses with his twin swords. Like Transformers Armada Starscream, he also has flip-up missile launchers, they are slightly differently designed on this outing but the end effect is the same – extra shoulder mounted firepower!
I know some people comment on how the swords are now stored in the wings, rather than the wings detaching to make up the swords. In a nice design touch, the wings are ball-jointed, so they can be folded down out of the way when the swords are removed, or popped off altogether if that is your desire.
All in all, Armada Starscream is a great toy and an excellent tribute to the ten year old Unicron trilogy. As a central character in Transformers Armada, it is great that he gets recognition in the 30th anniversary branded Generations series, and it’s excellent that the toy is such a perfect update of the original character. He’s well worth picking up once he hits stores in the US shortly. Check out the gallery below to decide where he belongs on your want list:

The inaccurate paint, the wingsword really prevent the this Generation Armada Starscream to being a perfect update of Armada Starscream.

Hey. I was wondering if it was just my figure, but in Jet mode, the back end looks like it bends down slightly and it's kinda bothering me, does anyone else that has this figure have that problem?
f-primusunicron
why no comparison with energon starscream?
BWfan86
I wouldn't put it past them to redeco him as the other seekers. It may take a little while (like with the FOC ones), but I think it will eventually happen.

I like this a lot, but I'm hoping that Hasbro gives us a whole team of Seekers from this mold. I don't like the way they've given us incomplete sets in Animated and even the little Legends figures. Don't they want our money?
BWfan86
Is it just me or just the translucent back of his head look kind of off. I could have done without the light piping if it required this…
TheSupernova
This looks to be a great design that I can't wait to pick up….as some other character.
(Sorry, I never got into the Unicron Trilogy)
LegendAntihero
I agree. Hasbro should repaint this into the upgraded blue Starscream aka Thundercracker.
Sciencefriction
This is my favorite Starscream yet, and the head sculpt is perfect. I wasn't a fan of the FOC mold, and hope that eventually this is repainted as the other Seekers.
NemiMonkey
The only thing that I have issue with the mold is that dag nabbit painted chin. I can't be the only one wanting to scrape the paint of. It's driving me batty even if it is a minor thing.
Other than that I'm just praying Hasbro milks this mold and gives us plenty of repaints, maybe even a retool to make Skywarp/Ramjet.
LegendAntihero
Armada Starscream is great. An improvement over the voyager in every physical way.
Sol Fury
The folded back position in the photos is as far as it goes – the whole thing is on a single hinge. When folded right back it tabs into the spine and everything.

What do you mean?

Seriously is there a way to actually get the backpack and "missile launcher canons" to all collapse in to place?

I don't get this toy – but cheers if you dig it. It doesn't look or feel like starscream and it's weird and lazy for a modern transformation design to have such a big robot dick. Very weird looking. Pass! Major pass.
DerVernichter
I don't mind of my transforming pew pew robot toys don't have perfectly human proportions, but something about his torso rubs me the wrong way. I'm usually all on for gigantic nosecone groins (in fact, I secretly crave to have one), but he looks like he's a member of the Transformers GO! Samurai team that was lost and forgotten. It gives me the illusion of him not having a real crotch, and his nosecone is inly there to hide it, like in the case of Kenzan's crotch plate. Also, somehow his legs feel like they start a bit too high in his torso. I could handle Prime Wheeljack's gorilla arms, I had no proble with RTS Jazz's super thin waist, but somehow this seems weird.
I like the colors, though.
Vyndication
My only complaint is that Starscream lacks his Minicon partner Other than that. Its pretty terrific
Sol Fury
No, they're the usual non-ratchet kind. Good range on them too as you can probably see from the kicks
Digilaut
Looks good, although the paintjob is a bit basic. The Takara one looks better.
Don't think I need another Starscream like that though. I might wait for the Jhiaxus remold and hope that one will turn out to be yellow/green/red after all.
Satya17
i think it will be better if hasbro released it in voyager size…. but it's a cool toy
