We've got one more toy to showcase to wrap up our coverage of Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Wave 3, so without further ado, here's Fall of Cybertron Air Raid!

Air Raid is a remolded and retooled version of Shockwave, who was arguably the best of the initial three deluxe releases in this round of Generations. Air Raid gets an excellently done and very detailed new head, a new chest, plus a new gunblade weapon and a second sword weapon. It's the new weapons where the appeal of the toy lies, because the gunblade (replacing Shockwave's arm cannon) can not only convert between a gun and a sword form, but it can break down into the gunblade portion and a second gun (which looks a bit like something the Generation 1 Aerialbots used). The second gun can attach to the arm like Shockwave's arm cannon, giving you already a good selection of options for displaying this guy, and that's not without getting into the sword accessory, which can be combined with the gunblade (or its components) in a couple of different ways to form some rather impressive swords!

In short - half the fun of this toy comes from his accessories and in plugging them together to make a whole bunch of different weapon combos. That is ultimately why if you are thinking of passing on Air Raid you should probably think again - he's just plain fun. This fan had the most fun he has had with a Transformer toy in a good while fiddling around with this one figuring out the many different weapon combinations, a selection of which are showcased in our gallery. I'm loving this trend of retooling molds so that they don't even feel like a re-use.

If I get Fireflight (and I'm sorely tempted to even though I already have Shockwave), I think I'll figure out a different alt mode configuration for him, one that gets the Autobot insignia right-side-up.
I know he's packaged as "Air Raid", but he's Fireflight in my books.

Looks really good, can't wait to find him at retail, will probably pick him up.

Only thing I don't like is the upside-down Autobot logo in vehicle mode.

I don't think his alt mode is a space ship. But rather an artillery cannon/mortar.

Love this guy! Although I will still call him "Fire Flight", he is for sure, one I want to get. I love the weapon variety he is.

Still not enough differentiation from Shockwave for me, nice weapons or not. But I'm fairly strict with myself on that sort of thing.

Is the extra sword he comes with the one Megatron uses in the final fight? Seems that way, just with a different color.

He's nice, and looks like he'll be really useful for many different customs as well.

I held off getting this guy as I wanted to get him with Kickback to take advantage of Hasbro's deals. I think he will be an easier one to nab and I look the look of his weapons.

As someone mentioned, I love the fact that Hasbro is taking the time to remold parts to make repaints a bit different from their source... just look at Sideswipe. His alt mode looks almost nothing like Jazz's due to the changes and his bot mod is JUST different enough to make it not look they are clones.

For Fire Flight, I plan to do an alt transformation where his wings and leg pieces are rotated opposite of Shockwave's to give him a different look in both modes.

I believe it is! It's also similar to the Banshee Blade Venksta made, which was meant to be based on Starscream's sword in WfC.

This is probably one of my favorite figures from the third wave of deluxes. I have FoC Shockwave and already knew how fun this mold is and the extra weapon possibilities will definitely make it worth it. A friend of mine picked up a case and I bought it from him. Too bad this guy is one per case like Kickback though.

This to me really doesn't say Airraid. I think I'm gonna pass on this one unless I can think of a way to change it and make it look more like he did in the 1st game.

Well of course it doesn't. What's important is if it says 'Fireflight' to you, because that's who it is.
You see, this is the second Fireflight they've renamed this year. Odds are it's a trademark issue, like 'Shockblast'.

Speaking of Shockblast, that's still my overriding problem here; I can't stop seeing 'Red Shockwave', and I don't have enough free cash to splurge just to get the apparently nice weapon.
