TFW Fall of Cybertron Autobot Jazz Gallery

We've got a little treat for you now. You might recall earlier this week that we reported on the first assortment of the new Generations Fall of Cybertron toys hitting retail in Asia. The assortment is made up of Optimus Prime, Shockwave and Autobot Jazz as they appear in the new game from High Moon Studios. Well, luck was on my side because I've got all three of the new toys in hand! Since fellow fans have focused a lot of love on Optimus and Shockwave so far, I thought I'd start with a look at the underdog of the assortment, Jazz.

Fall of Cybertron Jazz is a rather cool little design. He's decently articulated (no waist and his head movement is a little limited) but the robot mode is quite pleasing to mess about with. The transformation is clever, simple and intuitive - perhaps too simple compared to past toys, but it delivers on two good modes. Overall while he might be the least of the assortment's three new toys, Jazz is still worth checking out once he reaches retail near you.

As always pictures speak volumes, so with great pride I kick off our galleries for this new Transformers toy line - open that link below to check out our gallery of Fall of Cybertron Jazz.

Yup I'm sold on this. The small legs will take some getting used to but I honestly like the rest of the figure. Lovin' the car mode btw.

Knowing that blue is my favorite color, this is also a plus for me.
King Henrik
i'm not a fan of the blue plastic on this figure, also i think this figure (all 3 on the wave really) are in dire need of some paint apps... i might see what reprolabels comes up with before seeking this figure out.
ShockaNdMagnus
Honestly, I really dig it. I can't wait for TFSource to get their stock in. The skinny-jeans on this dude isn't the greatest look for him though, and the feet may be a tad too small, but I'm willing to look past it.
phoenix88
sold. cant wait to find him and Shockwave at retail.
Seeker
I'm still in the wait and see mode. The size and lack of paint apps makes me hesitate.
Walktehdinosaur
Is it possible to make his chest bumper on him flatter like sideswipes?
Liege Prime
I will definitely be getting him, but it's hard to be impressed with the RTS one out there. At least this guy can be a decent cybertronian Jazz.
Obsidian X
He looks ok. I'll probably get him and call him Searchlight, to have an excuse to have him with my classics
Notilator
I think ths is actually the first time I. More pleased with the final product then the stock photos
Incepticon
Not feeling it at all. The colors, the bot mode proportions, the "ehhhh, I guess the head could sorta look like Jazz" design, the lack of paint deco, the almost Scout sized smallness... just way too many negatives for me to justify a purchase of this one.
gokuz23
Just Bought Jazz and Optimus Prime online and actually they where pretty decently priced plus i got free shipping

Those proportions.

That lack of paint.

That cop out transformation.

That awful shade of blue and cheapo white plastic.

That small size.

That Price.

Nope mope trope lope cope soap.

Might pick up sideswipe because the color/paint looks and that he comes with a freaking huge gun. But man have they dropped the ball here.
TrueNomadSkies
Hahahah.

However, the white might be really nice like TF Prime Wheeljack, so I wouldn't shaft him just yet.
General Tekno
Liking the proportions, not a fan of the head being so sunken though.

Also, tiller, loving the inversion of the Futurama pic.
cheetor71
Hasbro is simply charging more money for less product. I bought TFP Knockout at Target the other day and paid a little over $16 with the tax. It's getting to the point that I'm seriously considering giving up collecting all together. Just not worth the high price tag.
AMG
Alt mode looks very nice, but bot mode looks a bit cheesy.

The white is a dirty ko white. Nothing like TFP Wheeljack.
Guitarbot
So much potential, but such poor execution.

I understand oil prices have a lot to do with it, but these smaller bots are such a turnoff to me. The saddest part is that the engineers that design these guys have proven themselves to be so gifted (new masterpieces? First edition bulkhead?), and yet they have to concern themselves more with meeting budgets at this price point than turning out figures with the size and complexity of previous generations deluxe designs. Again, I understand they have to sell to the market, but I would rather spend more money for standard sized deluxes than slightly higher prices for these figures with compromised design and engineering. But then again I understand I am in the minority.

What I'm most worried about is that when they do finally get to redesigning Trailbreaker and Blitzwing that they'll look like scout class against the rest of the classics molds

This was my exact plan when I first saw the figure.
Heat Guy
Awesome, mine should be here monday.
sages
Best photos I have seen so far!!
Jazzfan0217
My first thought when I see this guy is that he resembles a Porsche Carrera GT from the front, I can't wait for this guy he's gonna be the first one I pick up whenever I see him. He doesn't really look that bad.
Sideswipe80
Can't wait for him, Shockwave and Prime to show up from BBTS.
Spekkio
Jazz is one of my all-time favorite characters, and he's my favorite in Escalation mode in WfC. So I'm definitely getting this.

But the blue seems awfully bright. Is it screen-accurate? I may be forced to repaint his head, at the very least, to a darker blue or even black....
Surge
Heck this may even be my first FOC purchase. I can't wait for Sideswipe as well.
Shatterpoint
I can pretend he's Searchlight.
harrismonkey
Maybe he'll grow on me. Currently strikes me as a surprisingly ugly interpretation of a very cool design in the game.

Although I do have to admit Prime is starting to grow on me (which really surprises me).
Sol Fury
If you want to see more of Optimus be sure to swing by again later today...
rhinox1701
Finally ..
Mishran
Why do these figures keep shrinking... They shrink while the prices go up. Nice.
Prime Jetscream
I'm a little bit disappointed by Jazz. Not for the same reasons as everybody else, though.
Don't get me wrong, I like it, but there's something about him that I don't like. I really don't like how the arms have the tires sticking out of the top, it makes him look like he has flab hanging off his arms. I also don't like how his head is so sunk into his chest. But I'm still going to pick him up nonetheless.
But I'll probably go in the order of Optimus > Shockwave > Jazz.
I also don't like his tiny shoulders.

YES! I absolutely LOVE Optimus. At first I was worried I'd be disappointed, but now I LOVE him.

I couldn't belive I was the only one that wanted to incorporate him into classics and saw a decent classic Searchlight in this, apparently I wasn't

I might paint his visor yellow. Maybe I'll try to make some sort of rack with lights on it to fit in that peg-hole on the top of the car mode.
G1Prowl
Wonder if the 3rd party companies are gonna hit us with a Searchlight head.

I think this looks great as Jazz, and it'd be great as Searchlight. I'm also thinking that the only reason I'm gonna get Optimus is to get the head from an Ultra Magnus and make Powered Convoy.
Rockdown
I received one yesterday, I despised it. Today it has grown on me. It looks better because I mistransformed it; tabbed the top edges of his chest/bonnet into the grooves on the sides of his back panel. This makes his head sit higher. Also pegged some of DOTM Topspin's mini guns into the holes in Jazz's forearm panels.
TylerMirage
Hmm. Seems like a pretty good figure. Seems a little top-heavy, but it's not too bad.
Illumina Weasel
I can dig it, though I have 2 turn-offs (and not for any reason anyone else has mentioned, either):

1) He has a really bad case of what a certain YouTube reviewer would call "Visible Hands Syndrome". Them hands are an eyesore.

2) His feet are cheats. Since they don't need to follow a standard Earth car design, couldn't they have worked them into the vehicle design somehow? The wheel feet are not novel, cool, or iconic enough to justify cheating to get them.
SHINOBI03
Not sure if I'd get this or Animated Jazz to be the Cyberton Jazz.
Solrac333
It sucks that he's so small. Especially next to Classics Jazz.
MaxxieOD
I'm a huge Jazz fan, and this is one of my fav versions of Jazz...but the toy is just so...disappointing. Especially after the RtS one. I love Jazz a lot, but this toy...makes me feel a bit crushed. Maybe I can find someone who can do a good job fixing it up...tho nothing can probably save those chicken legs and fake wheels, but can at least fix that paint job.
Bountyan
When I get this I'm gonna add all the red details the game model has and give it a black wash to panel line it. That way it will look a lot less plain and the white color will look less gaudy.
Kremzeek215
Yeah this Jazz looks horrible.

I'll keep my Generations one.

Legends toys cheat too to achieve a desired appearance in robot mode soley because the toy isn't large or complex enough to do it without cheating. Its the same here. A Voyager Jazz could do it without cheating but this Deluxe Jazz is too small to do it.

That IS Generations Jazz. If you mean RTS Jazz, why would you think that this toy would necessitate getting rid of the other? It'd be like getting rid of Classics Megs just because you got MP Megs.
Stepper
I still can't believe that FOC Jazz is bigger size than FOC Optimus Prime.
rhinox1701
just bought mine on ebay! highly anticipated!!!!

It's all about accuracy, even if Hasbro fails at it.

He's not, he's just closer.

Hasbro fails at Screen accuracy then?
