No kidding. Is he just a paid actor, or an actual Hasbro employee?

First we better determine if he's even human.
SamsHappyTime
Is he saying "action" weird, or is it just me? Also, who here DIDN'T think they could do a better job? Either way I want Metroplex now because of that sound effect. Holy crap is that thing THX or Dolby?!?
BigRC83
Well, I am totally sold on everything.
GAUGE

LOL... I played 3 of these at the same time, the way he says "It's the----from Hasbro" has the same exact voice pattern on each commercial... He might not be...

Still...that Metroplex is damn cool, If I wasn't out of toy collecting I'd definitely be getting that

I want a Kreon of that hasbro guy with all 5 different shirts
Aptom
Those had to be the most boring and bland toy adverts ever made. I remember when adverts had wicked scenery and stuff like vehicles driving through piles orlf rocks etc. Way to go, a boring guy with a boring table in a boring room.
SPLIT LIP
Metroplex's face is silver in that video. ??? Running change?
jackgaughan
I love the "fight" between Optimus and Predaking, it's like to people walking towards each other and then being all "Oh terribly sorry old bean!"

Yeah, worries of "flase advertising" lawsuits have sanitized companies advertising imaginations. apparently Tomy/Takara in Japan dont have to worry that much, but Hasbro does unfortunately...gone are the days...

original Optimus Prime commercial - YouTube

okay, it was cheesy, but something about it makes me happy. maybe the fact that Hasbro knows who it's selling to? obviously the 20 to 30+ year olds. I love that actually. I wish they'd do that with their other lines (MLP FiM).

I wish they'd give this guy a name, maybe "Hasbro Bill". and YES we need Kreons of him. STAT. He's like the new "Mac Guy" from the PC/Macs, but... maybe we need a Mattel guy for him.
SPLIT LIP
I miss Beast Wars' actiony jungle/desert dioramas.
ToasterPrime
I'm a kid.
I'm way the hell over 5 years old-- but technically I'm still included.

...so, happy face!

I liked the MASK adverts they were neat.

I think anyone seeing Hasbro saying about the talking function of Metroplex and they had the misfortune to buy a UK or Canadian one they'd not be so impress at the lack of the ability to "Heed the call of the last Prime"
Gingerchris
They're functional, I guess. Functional and soulless.

Of course what we don't see is his dirty van parked just out of shot to gather up all the unwitting kids enticed near by his toys.

I'm thinking 'MonoTony'. But then he'd sound like a viral disease. Although that's probably apt for viral videos.

How about HasBrother?
MrByatis
I think the guy in these videos was also in the videos put out for the Battleship Kre-O sets.

I wonder if he has a button to press to make him say 'It's the Transformers Generations <size class> action figure from Hasbro'? (Apart from when he's in Europe or Canada when he just makes 'Pew! Pew!' noises...)

This is like a you Tube Video toy review only it was made in 1988 by Coleco - Laugh.

Starcom Product Catalog - YouTube

With apologies for wondering off topic I just love STARCOM to bits ;

If they were advertising them to "us" then they only need a long lingering shot of the box art and a line about the shelf size needed to staNd it on.

job done.
Wheeljackie
From hasbro!!!!
Mechafire
It takes some real effort to make an advert for a 2 foot tall talking space robot this fucking boring

Depends on whether or not you hear the Deep Note the first time you push Metroplex's sound module.
Autovolt 127
Sure their bland but the guys voiced didn't come off that bored sounding.
Prime Jetscream
That Metroplex is waaay different from the actual release... Why the hell do promotional things like these always get it wrong?
Not to mention all the awful mistransformations and just plain sloppiness...

EDIT: WAIT DID HE JUST CALL BH PRIME'S GUNS ICONIC!? *FLIPS TABLE*

Looks the same to me...although the lighting has me wondering if the face isn't white...

Possibly, but like I said above, something makes me think the lighting is playing tricks on my eyes. In some parts it looks silver, toward the end of the video it looks white. *shrugs*

All I know is, the one I got from BBTS....is white.
Renidragon
For those of you saying he's monotoned... You may want to check either your ears or your definition of the word...? He sounds like a recording in every video, sure (and I bet some advertising bigshot made that call on purpose), but that is some very prominent enthusiasm there - albeit artificial.

I thought it was funny how he pulled off those tongue-twisters. I say hilarious because they were well executed, but I could hear that it wasn't easy. I wonder how many takes some of those took.
gabumon
I was impressed with how quickly and adept he was at getting his hands in and out of frame to push the buttons/gimmick levers!!!

Anybody play all the videos at once? Not my picture
TacticalBacon
The Metroplex looks like the prototype seen at Toy Fair 2013. The silver face and silver legs definitely give it away.
Feralstorm
These are like the video equivalent of those "holiday toy/gift guide" ladies' magazines that pop up every year.

"Hey, check this out. It does this stuff. There's a reasonable chance your child or grandchild will like it."
Gingerchris
To be honest these adverts look like something most any of us could do at home with little effort.

Bring on the fan-made parody videos of HasBrother!

Needs more breasts and explosions.
RedAlert Rescue
I'll get one eventually - but I'm in no huge hurry - If he gets a bit cheaper in November I might bother - but since I have to import an American one due to the missing speech it's hard to muster up the energy to push the button.

I think I need something to get me interested in him like some new mould G1 related Legions/Legends, other wise he's just a bit white wobbly dust gatherer. I'm still far from impressed that his main ramp does not even reach the ground either in city mode and when it does lower it blocks the garage from being used - that bugs me quite a bit.

I suppose Scamper has some use though... I guess I would show more enthusiasm if I could think what to do with it. I think he needs something else Titan class to fight perhaps to show his worth more to my play pattern.
