New Classics Legends Assortment Appearing at Dollar General
2005 Boards member HoosierDaddy reports finding some new Legends Class toys in his local Dollar General. The four toys in the assortment come on generic backer cards, so are not just old Reveal the Shield stock but a new run. The assortment consists of:
Reveal the Shield Legends Optimus Prime
Reveal the Shield Legends Starscream
Universe 2.0 Legends Megatron
Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Bumblebee (Cyberverse Evolution Set)
The Bumblebee is a true oddity, since he is a single pack version of a previous Toys R Us exclusive multipack. This version also omits the big honkin' Autobot symbol on his chest that the last release had. The other three seem largely unchanged from their first releases. They run for $6 each.

That Bumblebee's not the RTS version. Interestingly, it looks like the version that came in a DOTM versus pack of Legion Starscream and Bumblebee in both Earth and Cybertronian modes -- it was exclusive to Toys R Us. Funky.

Yeah, it could be. Just like Megs isn't the RTS version. OP and Starscream appear to be RTS though at least. I know they aren't KO's though.

yeah I saw we got new peg space for them at the one i work at, after we clearanced the mincons and did a reset, was hoping this was the case, i need that megatron and bumblebee

That's VERY interesting. Even more interesting is the fact that G2 Megatron and Bumblebee weren't even part of the RTS line!!! They were both released in the Universe line years ago.
It may be that this is a Dollar General exclusive line. I already have OP, Gun Megatron, and Prowl, but I wouldn't mind having Starscream and Bumblebee as well. I love tiny G1 figures.

Well, I just hope I could help anyone out who may be looking for these to keep eyes peeled at DG for them. Good luck. They are fun to tinker around with, I'll say that.

Glad to see some new product heading into the dollar stores. I was getting tired of looking at the old ones.
The fact that they picked the 4 most famous Transformers (instead of some repaint no-name minicons or scouts) means these might actually sell well for them.

Don't tell me even RTS Megatron isn't allowed anymore because of his gun mode. Part of me thinks that's hilarious if it is the case.

I understand what you're saying, but i meant when you find these at DG you would expect them to be a little cheaper. Yeah, $6 is the price. I would just hope that DG would sell them a bit cheaper. How much did these retail for at big box stores? Probably wasn't much more than $6 or $7 each was it? I guess when i go to DG I'm expecting a little more price difference from Wal mart or something, ya know?

yeah i see what your saying, the name dollar general doesn't help, but people have to remember, we really aren't a "dollar" store per say, but really a general store with many items for a dollar

The Bee appears to be a...uh...depaint? of the DOTM 4-pack use, this one lacks the giant 'bot symbol.

Did nobody else notice the tiny autobot logo on primes left arm or that his legs seem to be a shinier blue than the RTS legends release? I'm definently going to try and pick up the Megatron if I see him.

What's interesting is the Prime looks to be like the Chronicles one (tiny Autobot symbol). I wonder if Starscream is the best of both worlds, having the properly painted head AND the painted symbols.

I checked our local Dollar General, they still have 2 full pegs of those Mini-Cons for $5 each. I am hoping Ollie's gets these too, since they should also be more reasonably priced

I checked the two in my town today, nothing yet. I want the megs, but I wont go out of my way for him. I'll check again next week.
It looks like they're on the oversized "scout" cards that the dinos came on from last year, thats kinda weird. But those dinos ended up at Ross, and other "dollar" stores, so hopefully they'll be all over.

I made the mistake of skipping this Megatron when it initially came out, may have to go check for it later this weekend. It would be nice if Hasbro was able to reissue some of the other HTF legends, like Cosmos, Wheelie, Brawn, Beachcomber and maybe Warpath (if he is still in demand after the Deluxe came out). They could even get some easy repaints like Thundercracker, Skywarp, and Clffjumper out if they are lucky.

I didn't find any of the Legends, but they did have a the Ultimate Battle Optimus and Megatron sans DVD in "Generations" packaging, I'm not sure if that's new or not though (this is the first time I've gone into Dollar General in like a year).
