Another pre-Toy Fair 2015 reveal, this time via the Transformers Collectors Club. Warpath graces the cover of the latest Collectors Club magazine, giving us our first *POW* look at this release *ZOWIE*.
The Legends class Warpath is a retool of the Generations Megatron figure released as a part of the “thrilling 30” section of the Generations line. Like the recent Huffer-from-Optimus release, the head has been retooled, and like Huffer, the figure does an admirable job of looking like Warpath – although, he’s traded the chest-mounted cannon for a Megatron arm cannon – will this be the deal breaker that keeps him from being added to your toys?

That would have made the most sense, but sadly Hasbro has moved away from Legends with Targetmasters. Kept the same price for the old 2 packs, but now we only get one figure.
Anyways a word on the comic in this issue, it's a return to the SG Cybertron. We see some new characters like SG Spinister and Needlenose, who are in Quickmix and Scoop colors respectively. They also seem to be Cybertronian tailors, which works with their names, I guess. Also SG Cyclonus and Galvatron get to rework the another scene from the 1986 movie.
Lio Convoys bio – so he's a jerk who works for the "man"?

Yeah, repaints or remolds have nothing to do with it. This is Classics. People don't want a half-assed, Energon-era accurate Huffer. They want Huffer. If they want to remold or repaint Optimus, there are maybe 100 better options, including making a new character. At least in this case, unlike someone like Rook, the character isn't forced on you in replacement of an established favorite.
I told you this magazine would contain zero news that couldn't he had for free a day or two after the first people started to get it. Never pay for anything you can get for free.

Exactly but with their push for doing all the minibots we're probably gonna see a lot more of this going forward. I;m mostly disappointed with the whole "Combiner Wars" connection with only Powerglide and Blackjack Legends while Warpath would have made for an awesome hand cannon too.

Well, I'm not sure I want to defend why they had to release these remolds as Huffer, etc., but as to why they had to release remolds of the existing figures, that's actually not difficult. By getting kids (and us?) to buy the remolds (which don't cost as much to create as a completely-new figure), Hasbro makes more money, which enables them to create even more figures (including those of the completely-new type) for us to enjoy.
I'm not upset that remolds get released. They're an essential part of the brand (to say nothing of Hasbro's economic strategy). I just don't see these particular characters as being good fits for the molds that were used.

probably cause huffer will sell and is a good bot (not perfect) just like warpath. repaints are inevitable.

They must see the Legends class as a good line to give us Minibots.

Seems like I'll be repurposing Universe Warpath as Grand Slam…and my Generations Warpath as Quake…
Sir Spamsalot
Looks good, but I don't see people selling their generations delux warpaths for it.
peaces
every line has repaints.
Mirimus
Lots of compromise of late – why do they have to release this and Huffer (and Pipes) at all?
That said, the figure does look nice…it just too bad they could have retooled the cannon to be able to clip on his chest.
The Madness
Not as dissapointing as Rodimus, or even Huffer. Though, I'm unlikely to buy it as I had recently aquired the smaller Legend.
I think any comparaison with War Dog or even the deluxe are unfair given size and budget limitations that must be considered.
Bass X0
It can be done.
All you need is a new right arm and a new chest piece with the cannon attached that swings down 90 degrees when transformed to tank. The cannon would collapse in on itself so its only half length in robot mode.
Cosmoglide
they could have, but I don't honestly think it would have been an improvement. a fake pointless cannon in addition to the arm cannon? I am really anxious to put this side by side with megatron to see if the quality is as stepped up as these photos make it seem.
Ravage101
yeah…this is a cheap disappointment. Would have loved to have seen a Warpath triple changer targetmaster.
Skottech
After looking at my legends Megatron it looks there would've been enough room to even have a faux cannon-tip nub stick out a little
Hollywood Hoist
Though the chest cannon is classic it's also kind of silly. I think this makes a good Warpath. I hope to see a Beach comber, Seaspray and Brawn soon.
Hollywood Hoist
I'm sure Hasbro gave the Collectors Club their choice of any figure they wanted. Do you want Magnus? Cyclonus? How about Devastator? They passed for Legends Warpath. In all seriousness TFCC can only publish what Hasbro allows them to publish, it's rare for them to be able to break any news.
Illmatic
Bad Cube's Warpath figure > Generations Warpath > This figure.
I think not putting the barrel coming out of his chest kills interest.
