what does "exclusive" mean these days?

It means when you jump markets and the store it was exclusive too doesn't exist. You find another one.

When I saw the thread title the first reaction in my mind was 'whaaaat?' lol. Seeing as I have two from BBTS for not much more than the cost of one from TRU's price above. Soit's still a win win: crisis averted for me, and it's great to see Hasbro sending a few (FoC) items Australias way, unexpectedly and/or early though they may be!

Australia seems to get really random releases. We still don't have anything past Wave 2 of Prime deluxe or Wave 1 of Prime Voyagers, but we still have Takara Jetwing Optimus Prime shelf warming in most retailers since last year!

I got mine from Toyworld in the city this morning. $125. Put away from Christmas. Not G2 colouring though but it didn't appeal to me.

I'd buy Jetwing prime except he's to bulky to be worth shipping on his own and I've yet to drip over some place or some one selling them that has enough other things I'd like to be worth getting it - same thing with Year of the Dragon Optimus - I'd like the grey grill version sometime but it's just not sensible to ship something that big on it's own as a single purchase.

I'm not surprised. I mean, it's still an exclusive. Hasbro obviously thought it was gaining popularity and that it needed a wider reach, so they must have shopped around for some more takers.

Now all that has to happen is that it needs to be an exclusive to The Warehouse in New Zealand. Why? Because they suddenly started using the G2 logo for their Transformers a few years ago. Why? Because it's New Zealand. 90% of the people here are morons.

They are all individually packaged. Just like the regular releases.

Just to be clear, we're talking about the G2 set. Not the standard Hasbro releases...

Although I didn't notice anything on TRU or OTCA about it being exclusive here.

MP Thundercracker was released here as a TRU exclusive about 10 days ago. MP Optimus Prime about 20 days ago.

Re: people going "So much for exclusivity".... do remember that "exclusive" only applies for one particular market.

Amazon and BBTS are likely sharing the North American market exclusivewise. The Hasbro Asia umbrella, which I assume Australia falls under, likely is handling exclusives differently.

It's not really; After shipping, ordering from BBTS works out to about the same and Amazon works out $30 cheaper for us... Hence I'm waiting on my Amazon orders, which shipped today.

It's still an exclusive because Australia is the smallest continent in the world.
